Hi Ed, I'm trying to attempt pinstriping and I would like to get an image on the vehicle rather than to attempt it freehand. I noticed that some people use a pounce wheel and use chalk to transfer the image so they can use the lines as a guide. Question, if you paint over the chalk, will the paint still adhere to the vehicle? Also, I noticed that you use a wax pencil to make your line to symmetry and painted over it.. will the paint adhere to the vehicle's surface once painted over the wax?
@njurakhan yes it will when the paint hardens its there for good that is why pinstripers have been using those methods for decades just make sure that whatever you use doesnt leave a clumpy residue both pounce wheel and pad as well as a wax pencil are great ways to create your design
By far the most down-to-earth and best video I've seen on here so far. Thanks, Ed, for helping a fellow Texan...been finding my way through this forest for a few months now, and your video corrected several of my mistakes! Thanks again.
@aztecmummy any time bud im sorry i have been lacking on my vids just been busy and hane no time but i promis to have another video out soon i am glad to hear i have helped you in any way
@facts6411 good heads up, gonna go check out the new kafka videos and the ones by the wizard, really loving this art form cant wait to share some of my own once i get to that stage
I like your work, good job! Your right about needing to keep at the art is a must... I've gotten a lot of mixed advice in the past about palleting/reducing. Some say to reduce oneshot with mineral spirit, other say use oneshot reducer instead, and you say to use it out if the can. Is all of the above correct depending on the situation? I used it out of the can in the past but the flow of the paint wasn't so great?
Love the videos. I started to learn striping just this year. I checked alot of videos on youtube on how to start and stubled on your video yesterday. A nice complete video. I do have a few questions though that I hope I can ask via email. some products you explain are either hard to find in Europe or are named different. Anyway keep posting on you tube. I would love to see your view on how to practice straight lines. Greetings from the Netherlands
