"JOHNNY STACCATO" originally aired on NBC in the 1959-'60 season; this is the beginning of the episode "The Return" [December 17, 1959], with guest stars Tom Allen, a good friend of Cassavetes, as "Eddie Dasko"; Ben Hammer as "The Doctor", and Virginia Vincent as "Jeannie", Eddie's ex-wife, whom he tries to kill when he escapes from the hospital. Very intense...
Hi B: LOL - as always, you've got the details down. And remember Tom Allen in that great "Twilight Zone" episode, "Midnight Sun", with Lois Nettleton and Betty Garde, where the sun, supposedly, is heading toward the sun?! Franny.
@j43ms You took my post. He's good in Shadows with the girls at the Diner. Shadows a great film. A bit misunderstood because of the emphasis on the race issue. It was really more about Ben's coming of age. He leaves his friends.
Region 1 DVD set out in October!

When's this going to come out on DVD? Real DVD. Not that crazy bootleg stuff. I need jitter-free TV.

@stupermundithegreat1
yes he was good! apparently, cassavetes
played up the race angle when he was
trying to get funding for the film, hoping if
someone thought it was in a good cause they
would finance the whole project. but yes, the
film was much more about the 3 main charcters
getting a reality check
