Thank you so much ot dows work but my goodness i do not like the flavor.....lol i feed her every time shes hungry and also i pump while shes asleep to keep the milk coming. My husband wanted to feed her and feel closer so he gives her my milk instead of formula, it feels good to know its my milk. Hes feeding her and still getting the best.
@MigueLyDenise My fingers are crossed for you. Hope it works!! But the key to keeping up a good milk supply is to nurse baby by demand. Your body should produce everything he/she needs. Keep up the good work, momma!
@sweetdreamstoall Great! I hope it helps. But remember, it's all about supply and demand. Whenever a feeding is supplemented with formula, your body will notice the change and decrease the supply. Good luck!! xoxo
@craftybabyhope You are so very welcome. I hope it helps you. Also try things like dark leafy vegetables like spinach and kale and also oatmeal and Mother's Milk tea; but remember it's all about supply and demand. Whatever baby needs, your body should provide. Try not to interfere during this adjustment period with pumping or supplementing, if you can help it. Good luck, momma!
@fumingsalmon oh good! Let me know if it works for you. Some people have been saying it works, others say it doesn't. Make sure you have a descent sized portion, like at least a half cup.
I just saw you video. I heard that quinoa boosts supply. I'm thinking I'm not producing enough for my 2 month old daughter. She's gaining really slowly and is pretty fussy after/between feeds. I had some quinoa for dinner tonight. I made it with some cinnamon and put brown sugar in it. About how much do you think I should eat at a time? About how much did you eat?
@t71jlp0 I just ate a side serving of quinoa, like a side of rice, maybe 3/4 cup. When I made soup with quinoa in it, it was probably half a cup per serving of soup. I've never tried it with sugar in it before. I will have to try it. As far as your baby getting enough, I know that babies are very fussy the first 3 months. So long as you are feeding her every time she asks for it, she's getting enough. Don't supplement as this will decrease your supply. Keep up the hard work, momma!!
I ordered this from Vitacost based on your recommendation and it just arrived today. I'm so excited to try it and I will come back and let you know how it worked. The brand is Arrowhead Mills and it's organic and cost $4.56 for a 14oz bag. I only wanted a small bag just in case I didn't like it. Wish me luck! BTW, my nursing lo is 10mths old.
OK...so i saw this vid when u first made it.... i was wondering if this was still helping with supply? i am starting to have a supply issue lately and i thought of your video so i figured i would ask! trhanks again for making this video! gunna pick some up tonight!
@JrdnLeigh My supply always seems to pick up when I have this, so it seems so... Please let me know if it works for you!! I want to know if I'm right.
I actually held this in my hand today but then I left it because I wasnt 100% sure if thats what it was called =/ so glad this worked for you, I'm going to try it!
awesome! thanks, i hope i can find some! my milk supply is low although that isnt a huge problem because hes 1 but he tries to breastfeed and i run out of milk b4 he finishes and it kind of upsets him, but i also have a digestion problem where i get sick all the time and one of the things i can eat is rice! so im hoping this stuff will settle in my tummy good because it has so much more nutritous then rice :) again thanx!
I had to add this to my favorites list, because I'm having my first baby in June. I really want to be able to produce a lot of milk. Hopefully, by doing so it will keep me from giving up on breast feeding. Thanks!! :)
@amweeks0504 Glad I could help. The best tips I have for first time breast feeders is breastfeed on demand, have a formula-free house (NO FORMULA - it will provide an escape), pre-condition your nipples with Lanolin cream and to keep using it after the baby is here, after each feeding, and if it is painful to breastfeed in those first few weeks, take Ibuprofen 45 mins before each feeding (makes a world of difference). If you need help or have questions, PLEASE ask me! I've been through it all.
@ArmindaHeart Thank you for the advice!! I will have to get some Lanolin cream. I'm so nervous and excited about breastfeeding. Did your milk come in right after the baby was born, or did it take a few days?? I here some people use formula the first few days.
@ArmindaHeart Haha! My supply took forever to "calm down" with both girls. I wish I could give some secrets of how to boost supply for those with low ones but I really didn't do anything. I think it's better to have ENOUGH rather than too much because my boobs always were swollen and huge because of the overproduction. lol! I had to pump BEFORE nursing a lot of the time because of it. Talk about a squirter...lol...eww, I kinda grossed myself out. HAA!! :D Squirter, that just sounds gross.
@TabMcgee How long was "forever" for your supply to calm down? Hey, squirting is a part of life LMAO!! Okay, since we're on the gross topic of squirting haha, I may as well ask you what cup size you started at before you were pregnant and what you ended up with. I always enjoyed being a smaller busted gal (I was a 36B). Now I'm hating being a C - D cup (in between ugh!) because it's hard to find clothes >: ( It's frustrating because my cup size fluctuates when I'm full and when I'm empty...
@ArmindaHeart lol! 6 months with Gigi and 4 months with Jo! Well, I don't look like I have biggens but unfortunately I do. It SUCKS! I have DD since 6th grade. Yeaaaah.....When my boobs are swollen and huge they wouldn't fit in my bra that's a F. LOL! I'm now back down to a DD and ya know, sometimes after she eats they are smaller. I'm really hoping that they'll go down to Cs or Ds which I've never had. That was be awesome! :D
@TabMcgee Biggens haha!!! Oh, you had big ones in 6th grade. I'm sure you got it good from the mean girls in school. For some reason, girls love to pick on whoever gets boobs first out of jealousy and the boys just like to stare and dream LOL! I got my period and boobs early, but they were never impressive. Okay, we talk waaay too much in the comment section haha! But I love talkin with ya!
@ArmindaHeart Hahaha! Ya know, I actually wore a tight sports bra and hid them until 8th grade. And yes, girls hated me for them. lol! All the boys stared at my chest instead of my face and it pretty much sucked. I had lots of friends but I think most my guy friends only hung around me cause of those. ;o) We do talk to much in comments. I wonder what people reading it thinks. HAHAHA
Very awesome it would be amazing if that helped with my milk production. The only thing is my son want's to nurse again which he diden't for age's and I have no milk =( Do you think there is any chance that this grain will help bring milk back? You look great and bub's is beautiful =)
@billnme How long has it been since you nursed last?? If your breasts are still producing milk right now, even just a bit, then of course it's possible. Little by little, have him nurse before you give him other milk. It may stimulate your breasts to produce again. From my experience taking the grain, it's just helped me produce MORE milk. I've never tried re-lactation, as I'm actively nursing a newborn right now.
I was told to try to have Augustine eat quinoa since he eats rice but his diet is SO limited and quinoa is such a healthy option. I am curious about the helping breast milk supply
@ArmindaHeart Well, A lot of kids with sensory issues have major issues with food and eating in general and Augsutine is one of those kids and he is in feeding therapy too. He has come a long way!! From only one food to like 5- 7 foods. It is more than just being picky. He will eat rice sometimes so his naturopathic pediatrician said to try quinoa.
@alandamandamama I'm so glad he's progressing so well. It'll only get better from now on. Quinoa has so many nutritional benefits, so it would be a great food for him. I really need to watch your older vids, hon, so I'm not totally clueless. I'll get right on that : )
@alandamandamama No worries, momma! I have a hard time keeping up as well. It takes up way too much time sometimes, to where I am doing it when Pierce is awake and I should be playing with him. Gotta get my priorities straight : )

yes, you pronounced it right, Keen-wah. I have known about it for a long time to be very nutritious, but I didn't know it was good for milk supply, so thanks for that, cos I had mild problems with milk supply with Izzy and was a little worried about this next baby. So once again thanks for the heads up!!! cool x

Quinoa is an Incan super grain originated from PERU, highly regarded in that culture for its nutritional benefits. Just a quick fact, Thanks :)
