  • Ok, I weigh 135 pounds, and I can rep with 275 pounds on the bar 5 times. I'm not sure if that's good for my weight or not.

  • Your a stud

  • along with the last part of what bongapendo said, plyos and other crossfit type exercises are what will give you the leg strength to jump higher. Lifting and building muscle mass will help you get stronger, but it can also weigh you down. Running will also help with leg strength. I refer to it as "internal strength"--like when someone looks small but has that "internal" strength and is much stronger than you think.

  • Can i still squat if i have some back problem?. Im 15 years old. And i weight 140 pounds

  • he is going low enough. I don't think he is trying to be a powerlifter and you get your benefit out of the exercise when you reach paralell.

  • Nice squatting. Your technique is ok, knees are not too far out, wich is good. Keep the bar a little lower, it is placed far to high. Also, either change your shoes, or squat in your socks, those are shitty shoes to squat in. Thirdly squat deeper, your ass should touch your calves...slowly down, then explode up without bouncing in the bottom position. Add some plyo on your off squat days, and you will see that vertical increase pretty fast.

  • Thanks for your tips!

  • lift your heels to your ass when you jump!! your decreasing your vert

  • Bar is placed too high on neck.

  • Looks great to me. I just dont know how hes even 177lbs. He looks much lighter which makes this more amazing. Im around 155 and look bigger but cant squat that much.

  • the bar is too high up on your neck.

  • No wonder your knee hurts. Your technique is one of the worst I have seen! Luckily your are on the correct path, reading in your description. Exercise with lower weight until technique is better, then gradually increase the weight. Please watch my videos to see some decent squat technique.

  • I have been squatting for almost 9 years. Knees solid as rock. Seems like your statement is a bit out of touch with reality. For the record, I know of plenty of others that have squatted 8+ years without a problem..

  • Not true at all. Many power lifters and Olympic weightlifters squat at least parallel or below for many years without knee problems. Please do some research before you talk out of your ass.

  • Nice video, and good job!

  • seriously dont even try to bodybuild if you are asian, just but on your glasses and do my taxes.

Ps. the music made this even more gay.

  • Whats your problem? What are you white? you make white people look bad because of your attitude. you can't even spell put you must be one of those rednecks... Go beat a dog have sex with your mom. I'm a white male BB and your a white male that gets on your knees and gives BJ hey AMERICA HATES YOUR KIND GET OFF THAT WELFARE FAG, thats where our tax is going bitch.

  • Im not white, you fail at gramma, you are homophobic and i didnt misspell anything in my post.

So you just utterly and totally pwned your self.

  • pwned.... sounds white to me what black cuz you said gramma or just another breed of trash? you said "but" you uneducated idiot. oh i forgot your daddy and your uncle is the same man... you gay bait

  • You arent even making a slight bit of sense you white trash piece of shit...

  • haha fag bait... go with your dad/uncle/brother and fuck your sister/mother

  • Man, as much as i want to agree wit u about the utter insult of zkyggen's comment, ur contradicting urself by accusin him by bein white, that's an extreme insult by stereotypin all people like that. Don't sink to his level man

  • 1st to fatman: It's not about the weight its about the percentage above your body weight. If you are used to lift 300lbs as soon as you wake up, I am not surprise your warm-ups are 315lbs...

NOW to Ali: What happened to the basketball jumps?? Can you now touch the ring? Thought it was a before and after kind of deal... - Jumping is more about calves than anything else...

  • Dis is a question from ma brother who has psoted dis video.

The question is dat, I m 16 years old and i hav started building ma body, so wudnt it harm me because some say i m a bit underaged for such exercises. But keep one thing in mind when answerin ma question dat i work on extremely light weights.

I hope i will get ma answer soon!

  • If u are working with ligth weight, than u have nothing to worry about.

And i am nto 100% sure on this, i believe i have read else where that the body of a 16 years old should be strong enough for training. (please google reserach more on this to be double confirm)

  • Hmmm! ThanX alot bro and i hope i wud b allowed to ask any oda questions abt building my body, from you in the future...

  • @AliGhanizad IMO, you should be alright. Just be very careful when you workout. Really spend a lot of time making sure your form is near perfect. Also, be careful with the weight you choose. A lot of people focus on getting as much weight as possible and end up hurting themselves. Working out with a partner is also helpful. Like scooby said, you should be alright to lift right now. But just be careful and don't overload yourself.

  • @AliGhanizad no u he aint underaged im 15 n work out in squat wit 385 to 415 probably higher n i dont think hes underaged haha

  • 55 pound bar i guss, weight sayn 10 lbs heaver

  • You begin to compromise your form as the weight increases. You are also pushing with the front of your foot when you should be pushing from the heel. The first set though I think is pretty good.

  • yea i wish u would read the desciption cause he knows

  • You are very welcome, I try my best to share my exp with other who have heart toward sport.

  • LOL at fatman9011. stop your bull and go lose some weight fat boy

  • Ture, are u some sort of footballer player? they can squat the world with ease...

or may be u are just like ur tubername, one powerful fat man hahah

(5'7 5'8 dunking is consder super already...serach for it~ freshman)

  • hey you may not believe me but it's all the truth and yes i am fat but very powerful and pretty fast for how fat i am too oh and yeah i am a football player....his name is abel, he used to be one my best friends, he's badass at b-ball...are you calling me a freshman??? cause i am lol....no joke though

  • Sheesh...another internet king boasting about things on youtube.

Can you please upload a video???

It's pretty easy to be top-notch on the internet. :-p

  • Wow, that sux

  • yea thats sooo bad

  • I'm 13' 5ft1inch and i I can squat 160!!!!!!!!!!

  • Then you're doing pussy squats.

    ALL THE WAY DOWN MAN.

  • How much do you weight?

  • I thought your form was really good....am I missing something here?

  • please read the DESCRIPITION on the right --->

  • nope

  • man too many reps on the squat if u want power use 2-3 x 2rm as a warmp and then go like 4-6 singles with a good load watch my video may help...im 5'6 almost dunking and clean pulls are my king exercise for power

    i train 2 x week...humm good luck man!..x )

  • thanks for your comment, 5'6 and almost dunk is HARDCORE MAN!!!!

watch my latest video.. I stopped squating for power now... i am now doing jump squat for plyometric power. If I still can not dunk after a month or two.. I will have to find new way to train.

once again, thanks for your reply!

  • how much increase in vertical leap can u get by doing leg press and leg extension

  • search around the internet before asking questions like this.overall leg presses and leg extensions are pretty crappy for anything other than bodybuilding

  • I weight 185 and do squats 315 for 6reps and DL for 315x2 reps and Powerclean 225x2reps... Sadly my bench is 185x6reps

  • i only do bench with dumbell 50lbs on each side...

my chest is tiny.. compare to my frog leg... X_X

my deadlift is crap as well.. but I alwasy worry that i will hurt my back with DL.

  • Good effort and description of how to perform the squat correctly, Ive also been working on getting the form down before going heavier.

    Thanks

  • His form needs work. A few weeks training with improvements made to his form and he'd be lifting the same weight a bit easier. I must say tho I was impressed to see his frame even supporting that weight. I would never have guessed looking at his quads he'd be able to half rep out 140kg+ Great work, keep working on your vert mate :)

  • Good stuff scooby, but you should work on your depth a little more. Your vertical will go up more.

  • wow very nice lifts. ...jealousy....

  • That's awesome Ger! You had me cheering when you kept upping the weights. I have total confidence in you being able to dunk before your deadline :o)

    -Ken.

  • Hm... I don't think I can do that much. I'm just wondering why you can't jump higher. I may be able to do 300 but I can dunk easily.

Maybe you should do more plyometrics... I dunno.

  • wow, good job scooby. I think you might have me beat now

  • borken

  • Crap... spelling mistake again.... Dam... shame on me.. kakakakak

  • gasp 2x bodyweight!!!

  • yeah man keep it up

  • You are Great!! Cheer up :)
