  • This is one masterpiece of turkish + greek teamwork! I am a Greek and I simply love this particular song! I could listen to it 24/7! I was in Ankara a little while ago and the Turkish people also love this song! I don´t care where exactly this song has its origins, its the best way to prove that out of a Turk-Greek friendship, something wonderful can emerge! Turks and Greeks should be friends! Keep on the good work guys! Marvelous;)!!

  • The song origin is Greek

  • @athanatiEllada this song is originally turkish produced from a greek from istanbul

  • just another masterpiece of greek&turkish work. thank you very much

  • Good Work :)

  • çok güzel çalışma.

  • Great song, beautiful performance. It is rather nice that Greeks and Turks are able to complain about Ottoman prisons side by side - in a studio nontheless!.... Those prisons were filled with Turks too, guys. There is no reason to open up the old books to hate each other. We are the new generation! Pain and suffering is the past. Let's cherish this beautiful culture that we share.

  • What I'm trying to say is that Racism is destroying the beautiful world of ours. That Greek and Turkish people could live together like brothers, but you motherfuckers try to destroy that friendship every time. I wanted to ask you, do you feel good with all that hate in you? Everytime I hear a Greek saying "Turgay", or a Turk saying "Gayreek", I feel extremely dissapointed because I see everytime that humans are the most stupid animals. What makes you feel better? Love or hate? Think about it!

  • I didn't want to continue the political conversation, but you're letting me no choice. I saw that a classic "Proud to be Greek" racist, mentioned that the Turks broke into our homes, raped our grandmothers and did a lot more horrible things. Yes, it's right. BUT you didn't mention that for so many years, Turks and Greeks lived together like brothers in Izmir and Istanbul. You didn't mention that in 1922, when the Turkish RACISTS hounted the Greeks, our Turkish brothers did hide us in their homes

  • @Sotos2AEK1

You made me laugh soooo hard.

When I was 18, just about to start college, I had a part-time job in a Greek-owned restaurant.

I had very long hair, and the owner's sister would lovingly braid it for me,

like a mother, every single morning.

One day her husband Jimmy, the chef, asked me:

"What are you MORI, what's your nasssionality"? (with a heavy Greek accent)

"Turkish", I replied, and then a shocked Jimmy yells back,

"No, Mori, you're not Tourkala Mori. You're nice girl".

  • hoş olmus..

  • Great!

  • Long live Greek-Turkish friendship!!!

  • @sergulaydore Turkish-Greek Friendship will only exist when you give back the lands you took, and the bones and blood of all the millions of Greeks you killed for our lands will be restored to the bodies you slaughtered.

Turks will not miss a single chance to conquer us. It's like a sheep making friends with a wolf.

Playing music and sharing culture together is fine, and fun, and great. But it means not that we are friends...

    Get this into your heads.

  • @DimitrisMPapadakis my grandmother still remembers Turks raping her mother in front of her eyes in Smyrni. I will not let this be forgotten in her memory. Ame kai gamithite twra 8elete filies... mou anevazete to aima sto kefali.

  • Comment removed

  • @sergulaydore Nah, that's not true. Because I live to support the truth. When Greeks fuck up, I give them shit for it. If Turks cause a genocide for Armenians, Kurds & Greeks, I give them shit. It's pretty simple. You should do what is fair and right. Noone chooses where they're born. But not loving your country, your identity, is like saying you're not patriotic or "nationalistically" passionate about your parents.Nationalism was purposefully given a negative meaning, to make the world mishmash.

  • @DimitrisMPapadakis If you were born in Turkey, you would say exactly the same things to Greeks. Just don't confuse governments with the people in a country. My maternal grandparents migrated from Greece and my paternal grandparents migrated from Romania. I love all the nations in Balkans and Mediterranean. Believe me loving a nation is easier than a hatred. I am not sure a nationalist person can understand these words. Therefore, this is my first and last reply to your post.

  • Turkish version in english:

The news went to town i went into prison for 5 years, Yedikule is more cruel than a pidgeon nest, im smoking my nargile and istanbul is so great and wonderfull, but the owners are cruel and evil :)

The translation is something like this ..

  • it doesnt say owners are cruel ... Listen it closer It says Zabitleri cok yaman .. Means the cops are really cruel .... Just to let you know ...

  • YIASU KONSTANTINOUPOLI

  • Istanbul güzel aman!

  • off ithikon süperrrr asik oldum lan

  • The Greek song speaks about the "Yedi koule" in Thessaloniki (Eptapyrgio). Till the late 1980's was a prison. The Song was wrote at the early 1930's and he speaks about a man that he is for 5 years in prison and he smokes Hash in his cell with other prisoners, he is forgotten from his wife and after his 5 years wants continusly to smoke Hash. Only with the words "Yedi koule" are coming the memories of Thessaloniki. My neighborhood was in "yedi koule" or better "Genti koule" for us there.

  • its about a prison called yedikule in the ottoman empire.

  • And as the title of the song indicates it is about someone in jail.

    Title: Five years in prison

  • It is a Fort named Yudikule which was also used as a prison
