  • The tank looks good. I build boats for a living and the only thing he might think about next time is his mounts. The tank will break out on the corners of the mount if they don't go full length across. That is how we keep them from breaking out in the boats we build.

  • nice work . need a job ?

  • garbage

  • @adamsbeer lol.., obviously you have no idea what the fuck your looking at and secondly you dont go around telling someone there welds are garbage, third if your cocky enough to tell someone there welds are garbage you better be throwing out some fucking beads that look like diamonds so stfu, In the weld no matter what there will be someone better then you no matter what.. so dont go around talking before thinking because his ALUMINUM welds look badass.

  • @COMPCdude lol!!! cool story.

  • @COMPCdude .Yeah...this looks pretty good to me too..!

  • beautyful

  • That'd look great if you could build up the welds and finish with a grinder, polishing the welds for a full on finish.

  • very nice. I hope to get at least half as good.

  • I'm thinking about welding a steel or aluminum half hard top for my Jeep Wrangler TJ... Could you recommend a metal and its gauge? Should I weld a frame first or can I just weld the sheets of metal together?

I've never welded before, however, I have soldered some. My brother has a welder and I'm hoping to use it. :)

  • @laurajdahl hey laura you will need to build a light frame first to support the sheets out of something like 30mm x 30mm x 2mm box section steel you can use nearly any welder to weld this with Arc, Tig, MIG. I would reccommend 2or 3mm chequer plate aluminium sheet to plate over the frame, to weld this you will require a good ac/dc gtaw or tig welder only this type will do and weld it indoors if you havent welded aluminium before practice on some off cuts of your sheeting

  • nice work

  • i use to do the same at griffin thermal in SC
