Being a Muslim, I have to say I really enjoyd this video. I would like to add to that thouth, that the whole...creation, is the Logos. Jesus is the Logos so everything in general is what Jesus was in specific, plus Jesus had the Holy Spirit guiding him. Either way, God knows His Logos better than the Logos knows itself. That's because the Logos is like the alphabet, with a beginning and an end. Nothing can actually hide us from God :) But then again, there is Wisdom in that.
But he did come as creation, he was alive wasn't he? In flesh and blood? You remember that John says in one of his epistles that Jesus came in the flesh is from God? As a matter of fact, the Qur'an itself says that Jesus was the Word of God, and a spirit from God, in order to guide the children of Israel. Also, Jesus, the Logos, never prayed to himself, never did anything for himself, because he did it for God.
@eidotevil John says the Word(Jesus) always was, but took on human flesh and came down as one of us.He did not begin to exist 2000 years ago, as John 1 makes perfectly clear. Jesus did do the will of the Father, but that does not demonstrate he was not God, rather shows his eternal relationship to God the Father as God the Son.
Sorry, that whoever says Jesus came in the flesh* and Muhammad the last of the prophets was a witness to that reality, and to the same reality that Jesus was a servant of God, as the Word of God is a servant of God. Not servant in the sense that it has no free will, but in the sense that it does not have the self-knowledge. For example when Jesus was asked about the end, he said he didn't know when it was. That only God knows.
@eidotevil No one can possibly and honestly read all the things Christ claimed about himself and all the Bible says about him and come away with the conclusion that he was only a mere prophet. One who spoke the word of God he was indeed, but Jesus himself claimed to be the GREAT "I AM" in john 8:58, he claimed to be the Resurrection and the life, the Good Shepherd, the Alpha and Omega, The truth, the Way, ect, all which would be blasphemy for any mere human to claim about himself.
@eidotevil The word is God. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, AND THE WORD WAS GOD.........And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth" John 1:1,14
Ok, I don't want to offend you, if you honestly believe the things you say, by trying to convince you otherwise, but you can look at those things in a more realistic way. Realistic both in theological manner and in existential manner. Because, ok, you have words... but you have also essence that lies behind words. Words have no value for themselves, it's what they represent that has value, and this also is a sign for what reality is. The Word of God represents God but is not God.
@eidotevil Carefuly in trying to use human wisdom, because the wisdom of man is folly in God's sight.Jesus Christ is the Truth, and the scriptures are the measure by which we ought to measure wisdom and perceive reality. The scriptures themselves say the word was God, Jesus himself said he shared glory with the Father before the world was,Christ never came to be, but always existed in fully Personhood along with his Father.
Again, I might understand why you might think that it is that way but really it isn't, and you will see that if you really look into the life of Jesus. And, alright, let us say that the Word preexisted in God as an idea, and has always existed in God, and always will, but so do we, and we are just the product of that Word and in essence we are the same thing as that Word, because in realistic terms the Word is manifested into matter, that's the face of God, but still not God.
@eidotevil It does not say the word was an idea, but the text comes right out and says the word was God.Yes, we are the product of the Word, i.e Jesus Christ because he is the Creator and we, the creation, his product. These three co-exist eternally as one: Father, his Word(Christ), and his Spirit(the Holy Spirit).
And God has made us in His image, but not in the image of His essence because it cannot be defined, but in the image of His face, the Word of God, and has put from His spirit into us so that we are similar to Him and He can communicate with us. But again, the Word of God is not God, and it has a beginning and an end, as God has decided, it is the Alpha and Omega, the name of God, but not God.
@eidotevil Again, it does not say the word was an idea, but that the Word was God from the beginning. Christ was always co-existent with the Father from before time began. Jesus said so himself, "And now, Father, glorify me in your own presence with the glory that I had with you before the world existed." John 17:5
The Word, Iod He Wau He, is only the Name of God, by which you can call upon Him. But calling upon the Word itself simply makes no sense, if you know what I mean. And this might be a huge point of awakening for you, except if you already knew this, but really this is it and there is nothing else to it.
@eidotevil The name is not merely a spoken word or an idea but an encompass of all a being is. So if you try and say Christ was the manifestation of the name of the Father, then you're saying he is the human imprint of all that God is in essence and character....in other words, God himself incarnate. That's what we Christians have been saying all along,Christ comes and gives fully revelation of the Father, for he's the only one that was In Heaven eternally and came down from this throne to here
He, the Word, himself is the throne and everything the throne encompasses, but the Word cannot encompass God, it just can't, trust me. This world can in no way hold God in it. God has full consciousness of His Word, but His Word is simply His expression, and in essence not Him Himself, He stands high before His throne. Generally, if you can understand this, the Word and the Spirit are simply those two things of which creation is made. I will explain it to you.
You see, there where there is no time, you have God, without any name or form, just God. God blew the Spirit (πνεύμα=breath), out of which He made light, and out of light He made fire, and out of the breath, by making it move in more dense vibrations, he also made sounds/letters, this way the Logos was born out of the Spirit, and that way God used the Logos to give Himself a name, Iod He Wau He. This Logos, or very dense sound, is what is matter, or this world, the creation.
And I understand why you trust some passages from the New Testament more than me, but again, you can't deny that if you also read some other passages it all falls apart, and you know I'm right down deep. But again, I'm not here to convince you, you have to discover reality for yourself :)
But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13
Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world. 1 John 4:1-3
Muhammad the prophet was the one prophet that was acompanied by Gabriel, the Spirit of Truth, and Muhammad, may God's peace and blessings be upon him, confirmed that the Word of God came into the flesh as the person of Jesus the son of Mary. But Muhammad did not lie, and he said other things about Jesus the son of Mary, and it's all true. You just have to confirm it with your own eyes, you'll see I'm not saying anything untrue. The evidence is all laid out before you.
@eidotevil Again, the scriptures do not claim what you're describing, John 1 clearly states "the word was God", and when we compare scripture with scripture, we see the fact of Christ's deity as the Word incarnate clearly. You quoted the passage about testing the spirits,"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed." Gal. 1:8, Muhammad did not preach the NT gospel,so he fits the criteria of a false prophet.
I think this is a pretty missunderstood concept. And one that the devil will constantly use against us a s he accuses the brethern .. worse yet is the transmitted lie from a believer to another believer...chopping at who we really are in christ jesus. Reopening the can of works .
