@isupportthegosselins well, i personally never slept on the top bunk because i was lazy, haha. but my roommates liked it. it just depends on the person.
So , the dorm in this video , how much did you have to pay and can you request for a roomate ? I'm just a 9th grade freshman but i'm thinking of living in a dorm and the article didn't really work for me D:
@michelinii2311 You can live my yourself in a single room, but it's much more expensive than living with roommates. You can have both a fridge and microwave, but only through the UCLA housing services' connected fridge/microwave complex that is for rent. Some rooms, called plazas and suites, have individual bathrooms, but if you live in a residence hall, you share a community bathroom with all the females or males on the floor, which is where I currently live and it's not that bad at all =).
@Sewsupercrafty you can definitely do either--buy or rent! you rent a mini fridge/microwave with UCLA or buy one on your own. my friend is actually selling his microfridge if you're interested! just look it up on facebook marketplace in the los angeles area!
@omgoshmichelle ok thnx! i saw some for sale but wasnt sure thnx! btw one more question u may not cook alot but i prbably will. is there any easy way to do dishes?
@Sewsupercrafty if you're living in the halls, there's no kitchen, so you technically can't cook at all...dorm food isn't all that bad. UCLA is one the universities with amazing dining hall food! usually people have a bowl and spoon for cereal and you can probably wash it in the laundry room or bathrooms LOL
Are the dorm rooms all the same or are there different kinds rooms? Im planning on applying for UCLA when im at the age where i can apply(In other words im only a freshman in high school). And Are the people usually friendly there? Im from Illinois so i would know anyone so thats what im worried about most. Me and my friends talk about college all the time and im the only one who plans on leaving state. so if you could explain to me what living at UCLA is like that would be great! Thanks!
are there certain dorms that are harder to get? i'm thinking about attending this school this fall and I like privacy, like having private (or some-what private) restroom. are plaza dorms hard to get?
@unknown333SURE it depends. most incoming freshman usually live in the halls because that's usually where it's the MOST social. but if you request to stay in a plaza then the chances of that is also high, just depends on how many ppl request to live there =)
@unknown333SURE yo, if your going to be new there, your going to want to be with as many people as possible. its not going to be fun time for you if your wondering around campus aloneeee lol think about it
how is college life? I'm kind of scared of entering college next year, Are the classes a lot harder than high school classes? is it hard to get good grades in college?
it all depends on your major, i would say. science majors seem to have harder classes, at least that's what i think (i'm a science major xP). if you work hard, then you'll be able to get good grades
I'm so glad you guys posted up a video!! Now I have an idea of what I can bring to my dorm! I'm moving in TOMORROW!!!! ahhh.!!! haha. excited and nervous!!! never shared a room before with anyone other than my mom.. lol.. so this will be interesting! haha
LOL! I'm happy this little video helped! I remember my first move in last year, and I had no idea how big the room or closets were so I thought making this video would help future bruins like you guys! Hope to see your friendly faces around campus! =)
Dorm life was EXTREMELY fun for me! I had a wonderful dorm experience because most of my floormates were fantastically awesome! We clicked well with each other and hung out together whenever possible. I hope you have outgoing and nice people on your floor! It's really the people around you that make it worthwhile!
Im currently a biochem major, but considering changing soon. Im on the prehealth path (dont know which: premed, predent, prepharm, etc.). UCLA doesnt have a specific medical program; you just take classes that are required for the professional schools.
The classes CAN be overwhelming and stressful. Well, because it's college now and things just get harder as you progress forward, but it's totally manageable. I'm still able to devote lots of time to studying AND fun! Dont worry too much, college will be fun!
i stayed at ucla for cheer campbut iwas inthe sproulbuilding the rooms are kinda small though.

isn't it inconvenient to have to wait in line to use the bathrooms? or are there many stalls and showers?
sourpuss1234 1 year ago
@sourpuss1234 surprisingly no. not everyone uses that bathroom at the same time, and yes, there are several bathroom stalls and showers.

Im from sweden and i will maybe come to study in UCLA, but there are some things i wonder:
Can you live by yourself or just 1 more guy?
You cant have both a fridge and a microwave?
Does some rooms have toilets / showers?
Thanks in advance ^^<3

@AmandaPanda9696 If you're applying from out of state, you should most definitely study hard to earn good grades and save up a load of money.
