  • do they bite???

  • @chevytech350

    Yes, they hurt like hell.

  • The description says that you will history with only a single bite by the weta....That doesnt make sense at all....Can someone honestly tell me how pain it is when the weta bites someone?

  • It's a giant cricket!

  • I don't know ? Maybe they are related ?

They are more aggressive than hoppers.

  • I've never been bitten by either one myself. But here, the grasshoppers and crickets are so small, you'd never notice if they did bite.

  • as far as i know, hoppers (if you meant grasshoppers) are the least agressive, they only slobber green liquid for protection. howver, there are only tiny ones where i live. one can find much bigger katydids - bush crickets - over here though, and when handled in a wrong way, they can bite painfully, but arent primarly agressive. crickets are very tiny and shy here, and we sure have no wetas here, but ithink they are more agressive than katydids, and with more painful bite.

  • @stuchly1 i judge from grasshoppers being herbivorous, katydids being omnivorous (believe it or not, but they are) and wetas being carnivorous. ;-)

  • *shudders* so scary D: glad I've never come across a live one yet haha

  • Hehe, bloody funny - gosh alot of people don't get the joke thing aye! - well done;)

  • theyre teeth give a really nasty bite. my friend got bit by a little grasshopper and it broke his skin and drew alot of blood

  • hahahaha hell that was funny.. fell out of many trees having these feckn things crawling on my hands.. panicking as a kid and leting go of the tree only to fall hahahaha they could kill hahahahaha
