  • Those high notes are stunning

  • Sheet music. Where can I get it?

  • oh my god. this is the first i'm cried in 3 years... and im a guy

  • Danny boy - Cantus. Better than this i think.

  • best arrangement indeed, and such a splendid performance and textual interpretation. :)

  • That was so perfect until the random clap-like sound. <3

  • Beautiful, just beautiful. :)

  • The 1918 version of the sheet music included alternative lyrics ("Eily Dear"), with the instructions that "when sung by a man, the words in italic should be used; the song then becomes "Eily Dear", so that "Danny Boy" is only to be sung by a lady". it's unclear if this was Weatherly's intent, or simply a publisher's note

  • Are these pictures of sights in Ireland? They're beautiful :D

  • This is a bit too fast for me. This is a sad song about death, it should be sang as such. They are way too bright for this song.

  • @aimlesslyrambling the song isnt just about death its the celebration of a life lost not about mourning

  • this song reminds me of the boy i met who is leaving this summer in my birthday month and hes moving all the way to Texas

  • Epic choir

  • beautiful....i agree a little to fast for my liking ;))

  • pretty... but faster than my liking ;) (but that just my opinion)

  • Simply Perfect.. truely beautiful...

  • This is beautiful.

  • Excellent

  • The arranger is Joseph Flummerfelt. He conducted the Westminster Choir of Westminster Choir College in Princeton , NJ where he was director of choral activities for over 30 years. This song was, for many years their encore piece. While this performance is not bad, the one by Westminster Choir is sublime.

  • personally, i prefer the solo version of this song. But i still thnk this sounded amazing all the same

  • I wish the the eighth rest after "hushed" was a little more defined. You're singing it fast which is fine, but the rest was so small it didn't have the effect I feel it was meant to have.

And I don't know what arrangement you were using but the one I'm singing in my choir right now is by Doug Andrews and he has the men singing alone at "And if you come when all the flow'rs are dying...until "And kneel and say" And the women have these lovely "du"s starting at find until when they join.

  • the slideshow actually took my breath away. well done.

  • WOW

    that was beautiful!!! :D

  • hey - who was this version arranged by? thanks e :)
