This song gives me gas, and always has. Truly. It makes me recall riding the Zipper at the State Fair until I got sick and vomited. And then thinking about that incident upsets my delicate stomach, which causes gastric disturbances, which lead to horrific bottom-burps.
Now I'm gassy again, and it's so foul that the cat has left.
The REASON the Salton Sea is abandoned and there are massive fishkills have nothing to do with the Salt Level.. It has to do with the Corporate Agricultural run off that causes severe algae blooms! Which suffocates the fish and all life. IT IS A TOXIC wasteland, just remember.. Instead of stopping those polluters or regulating them.. The California government didn't do anything about it! The People left and now you have an Apocalyptic wasteland!
its not a regular tourist attraction... its more for people who appreciate the odd post-apocalyptic beauty of it and also there is one of the best sunsets in that place. I loved it! Definitely not for everyone though!
What's the attraction? It looks like a wasteland of rusted, abandoned, corroded garbage. I'm being serious.....what is the attraction? The water is dangerous, the fish are poisonous, apparently the odor is nasty, and there's nothing there. So, again.....what's the attraction?
Stay (or visit) there if you wish - it's your choice - but you may want to, you know, trade that skateboard of yours in for a car one day (LOL) .... maybe when you grow up....but by then, your chromosomes may be so damaged that your resulting children will resemble The Swamp Thing.
But you're "free" to make your own choices, so enjoy them....and remember not to one day cry over them.
God,you are a MORON!!! Salton Seas problems have nothing to do with CHEMICALS or SEWAGE!!! It is the unusually high salt content that kills off the fish!!!
But I'm glad that there are people like you out there. Because as long as fools believe it is toxic we will be free to enjoy a truly quiet and peaceful place.
And when you need a break, you can wing-on over to Japan and swim in the sea right alongside the Fukushima plant, or, since you're so impervious to (and ignorant of) the Salton Sea, perhaps you'd prefer a little dip in one of the reactor or spent-waste pools?
very cool

Every time I've been there, never ever have I've seen a boat or watercraft on that body of water---plenty of dead fish though to be found.

I love the place. You have to go there in August during peak Tilapia season, it is worth the trip. The smell you can't put into words.

Yep - freedom to enjoy that toxic, chromosome-damaging, cesspool-du-jour.
I'm sure you'd have liked to have taken a nice swim in Love Canal, too...
