  • All great art--Shakespeare's, for example--produces in the spectator a cathartic moment, or Joycean "epiphany" in which he/she see him or herself in relation to the social fabric and the grand design. It's not about self-esteem but the opposite--the exposing of hubris and its lethal effect. It's not about ghettoizing people into a support group, but the opposite. We are all flawed, incomplete beings, but nothing is as empowering as knowledge that liberates us from our own delusions of grandeur.

  • The blues says as much without the patronizing, didactic representation of black women as a homogenous group of sisters with only color to deal with in life. Perry has not only tapped a nerve: he's created it, in the process reducing complex women to mere avatars of blackness. Like his other films, this one will give its fans temporary feel-good vibes, but it's a long way to Harvard and succeeding in a challenging career. Maybe they all can become directors of their own race flicks.

  • What song is playing?

  • janet jackson looks hot wit short hair .. i wanna watch this film .. seems good :D .. tyler perry you gotta gift from god :D jah bless!

  • this guy is honestly one good producer wowww !! and he don't just make rubbish movies , most of his movies have morals .. he definitely deserved to be second richest in forbe magazine

  • @bigbadmoffo Maybe you should have seen the movie. This movie was about issues black women still face today not in the past. Lord forbid black women have anything and whites, latins, and asians cant handle it. Maybe YOU guys need to get over it.

  • This film touched my soul in ways I cannot express into words.

  • FOR COLORED GIRLS - Great Movie

  • I think a lot of people whom have not experience the issues in the movie or know someone whom has will find it as just some sort of entertainement. The sad thing about it is that this type of issues happen every minute. This story was put in a poetic, melodic, visual format to arouse your thoughts as well as allow you into something deeper, so that you know, you feel, that this is real.

  • This movie was really good. Had a friend come over, told her to pick a movie to watch and this was the first one she pulled out. Glad we watched it. It was so sad. :/

  • if they where mammy type character they would win or get buzz strong emotinal performances

  • Beautiful movie. Definitly not for people who use movies as an excuse to eat popcorn.

  • This movie was the most depressing movie

  • it's one of the greatest films i've ever seen

  • Does anybody on youtube have the whole movie on their page.? if so can you send me a msg or something.!

  • I still don't know what the movie is about after the trailer. Someone please tell me????

  • @chiefs816kc heres an idea, read the description...

  • @RrandomPerson What/where is the description? I thought the trailer of a movie was suppose to tell the audience what the movie was about.

  • it's such an emotional movie. it's not something you want to watch anytime. It's a heavy serious movie. Other than the absurd conclusion of the movie, the acting and story line are amazing.

  • I'm black young woman, and some of the issues in this movie have applied to me & lots of the women in my life (black and white). But i'm so appalled by the amount of hate and division generated by a TRAILER. Women vs Men, Women vs. Women, White vs. Black, Awards vs. No Awards.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?? Gosh people must we ALWAYS fight each other?!?! Sometimes there's wisdom, love and purity in just agreeing to disagree. We don't always have to make WAR esp. over a film depicting such raw realities.

  • @yinkusminkus

nobody ever made as much sense as you i was thinking the same thing.....you go girl!!!

  • @yinkusminkus OMG!! it's like you read my mind!! I couldnt agree with you more. On every single youtube video people will be arguing for the most trivial reason. Especially over things that have NOTHING to do with the video. SMH....

  • WHY WASNT THIS FILM NOMINATED FOR AWARRRRRRDS!!!!!! OSCARS WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!!!!!

  • @lola01ization whats the name of the song at the beginning

  • @lola01ization Because for the first time in hollywood history they wouldnt have enough Oscar to give these tremendous actresses.

  • @AhayaBenel...so sori 2 busrt your buble..but i did enjoy it...i am a coloured girl..and this is an eye opener for some girls who goes through some of these circumstances..these things happen on a daily basis in a womans life...this onedid ROCK for me while watching....thank you all actrises you did it well!!!

  • This is the worst Movie I ever saw.

  • good movie butt its fd up

  • From Shenzi (The Lion King 1994 ) to Tiana (The Princess and The Frog 2009 )

  • This movie is incredible. The trailer does it justice, too!

  • what's the name of that song?

  • @tubbulous "Four Women" it's orginally by Nina Simone but Idk who did this version

  • Tyler Perry is a DICKHEAD!

  • Is this a honest depiction or depiction of stereotypes? I never know if these are worth watching because I don't view them as honest.

  • @OpinionatedChica23 most films are a depiction of stereotypes, you just have to watch them for the enjoyment factor and take what you will from it

  • Another tyler perry movie depicting black men to be the root of all black womens problems.

  • @junior3082

Actually its by Ntozake Shange. She wrote it, Tyler Perry turned it into a play.

And women ARE routinely oppressed by men, time you accept that and did something about it since it bothers you so much.

  • @junior3082 umm Tyler didnt write this.

  • @dreamgurl81 auctally this is by tyler perry 0:48

  • saddest movie ever.

  • so powerful

  • I thought that Mariah Carey played in the movie too?!

At least that's what Tyler Perry said..

  • @TheLadykiller26 Then something happened for her (think she got sick, or pregnant, I don't remember) then she dropped out of it.

  • @sweetKaylahMartinez I think it was the pregnancy thing that was going on. Too bad, cause i loved to see her playing in that movie.Thanx for the comment anywayzz lol.

  • @TheLadykiller26 I think so, too. I wonder who she would've played in the movie... O.o And your welcome. ^_^

  • i cried.

  • @marcodanisi80 This movie is rated R, not PG-13

  • thumbs up if you remeber why that guy was in jail at 1:46

  • This movie is something that is so different. It will make you think about the world in a whole DIFFERENTway!

  • This movie is awesome! I think people need to get over themselves and just accept that this movie was made for black women. It started out as a book, then a play (which were both directed/dedicated towards black women) nobody seemed to care before... but now all of a sudden since its a movie everyone got something to say about the title.why does it have to be only for black women?? and why this? and why that? Get over it! Im GLAD tyler perry made this movie the exact way it SHOULD have been made

  • After seeing this movie I ask myself..."if black women are getting treated this bad by black men...WHY IN THE FUCK ARE THEY SO GOD DAMN STUBBORN ABOUT IR DATING??? As a blk man I'm like shyt, if blk men treatin' yall that damn bad like TP portrays blk men in each of his films then by all means move on to other race of guys. White guys, Asian guys, Latino guys, etc but they rather sit around and play victim. Sometimes I think black women enjoy playing victim. They enjoy getting abused.

  • @canibus19 have you ever watched a TP movie?? all of these films have amazing black men in them who save the day:

Diary of a MBW: TP plays one himself as a father, and the guy who proposes to the main woman is also a BM

Madea goes to jail: the male lawyer save the prostitute

Family reunion: the women with the 2 kids finds a single father to marry

the list goes on but not much space.... so whos playing the victim now, ahy???? cause that 4 i 3 movies :)

  • This is a very good movie that highlights the ambidextrous characteristics of men in relationships with their women, from just a date, to one night stands, steady girlfriends and their wives.

Whilst all men should not be judged by the cast in this film, women need to take serious precautions on who they let into their lives.

I'd like to see the male version "For Colored Boys", as women have skeletons and issues too.

  • finally watched this movie... i loved it. So many parts of this movie relate to the struggles in my life. Simply wonderful

  • Ok, we have a movie to empower black women. Sooo, just wondering, as a black man what can I watch to empower me?

  • @RandomUsername010 Maybe "Diary of a Tired Black Man"? I haven't seen it yet but from what I heard about it, it might be just what you're looking for. :-)

  • @RittiSoncco Sounds cool. Good lookin' out.

  • Fuck ignorant white people, and fuck these SPAMMERS!

  • LOVE Kerry Washington! Nice choice Tyler. LITTLE MAN WHOOO

  • damn tyler went hard on this movie, the raping and the kids part touched me alot. they're sick people in this world

  • i would love to see the kind of up roar that a movie titled ‘ for white girls’ or an awards show titled ‘white entertainment awards’ would cause.

it would start a civil war in america. Seems like racism is okay . . . but only against white people. and anyone who speaks up against shit like this is automatically called a racist. and spare me all the slave bull shit, my ancestors had nothing to do with it since they were from poland as i am.

  • @MiSenigmatic

You're Ignorant As Fxxk. The BET Channel & Awards Shows' Were CREATED Because WHITE People Didn't Show Black People At ALL On Regular TV. Oh Please, You White People Are So DUMB. Who Do You Think All Of THe OTHER TV Channels And Awards Are For? WHITE PEOPLE. Stop Acting Like You Don't SEE It. Movies May Not Be Titled "For White Girls" BUT People KNOW Who Their AIMED At. Open Up Your Damn Blind Eyes.

  • @JanetFanForever

'you white people are so dumb'

ok thats not racism . . . as long as it comes from a black person and offends white people

you dont get the point do you ?? you're obviously too blind to see the double standard when it comes to white and black people . GOD forbid ANYONE ANYWHERE called something 'for white people' but here you are making up excuses, thinking its ok and be racist towards white people only because i stated my opinion about an award show called ' black. ET'

  • @JanetFanForever

    ANNDDDDDD

please !!! show me one award show that is DEDICATED to white people PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YOU CANT because that would stir up so much shit !!!

and all of the other non exclusive 'black' award shows include black people all the fucking time.

if we want to move on without racism why still have shows called like that ?? what year do we live in ?? 1800's?? i think SOME black people need to get past their inferiority complex. ^^^^^^^^

  • @MiSenigmatic my dear the Oscar's is for white people only two black ppl have ever been awarded one and one of them was only half black

  • @sylverwicca

oh i didnt know that oscars translated directly into the white people awards.

spare me your 'prominently white awards' bullshit

the fact is, if ANY awards show OR ANYTHING for that matter was called 'the white . . . ' it would create a civil war in america.

and are you kidding me 2 black people won an oscar ?????

PLEASE do research before spewing unfounded bullshit to make your case seem better.

  • @MiSenigmatic

just because its not called "the white people awards", does not mean that it is not,(eg a rose by any other name bla bla) and yh ok 12 black people have won but thats compared to how many white people?? that number would amount to less than 1% so weather its 2, 12 or 50 it would still make it predominately white seeing as around 2000 people to date have won

if the Oscars are not a prominently white award then which race is most prominent??

im sure you are not that blind

  • @MiSenigmatic in the UK top uni's are expected to open up a set amount of spaces to poorer students, although a few richer potential students will miss out on a spot because of this, would you still see that as unfair? because its the same thing.

what u suggest is like giving mike tyson a helping had to beat up a woman while telling the woman to get over it

you need to open your eyes

  • @MiSenigmatic oh and even in so called black awards white people still win awards have you seen the MOBOs for the last two years...

sifi, horror and sometimes even action get underrated at main stream (predominately white) awards, so now they have their own, its the same for black and many other races unfortunately

  • @69freaktard Do you mean am I being chauvinaism?not( showing out).Rather your gay or straight I dont hate gays nor you,But I hope your aware aids or the homosexual act can destroy all life on this planet. You seem confused.Good -by and good luck.

  • @treeyard1 Really? The homosexual can destroy ALL life on this planet?

  • there's nott a nigga in this movie .. . nott one >=)

  • @69freaktard Your confusing me with your mother or ghetto sisters. One child married twice.Share custody with my ex.Smart, happy, football ,base ball playing little boy.(All boy.)I dont live in the ghetto where they have babies like flies.I would be embarassed if my child was gay.And it's how about you? not (bout you)speak like your working on your CPA.Is your father active in your life?Speaking of morals. How does one become gay?Good-by

  • This movie was actually not nearly as depressing as I thought it would be. There is probably nothing that happened in this movie that you saw that you would not see if you watch the Lifetime Movie Network on a regular basis. Though you probably would not see it all in one two hour sitting, all of these scenarios have probably occurred.

  • "Being coloured is a metaphysical dilemma i haven't conquered yet"

That's such a brilliant line, I think it speaks for many of us who feel oppressed by opinions based on appearance.

  • @69freaktard shirley,Go do something constructive besides dreaming of ass.I hope i'm not the one who has to find your collasped veins after aides have you looking like a mange ape.I hope ladies see this.Maybe they will make wise decision about sex.watchout for infected down low stick anything,no morals, stupid, perverted girly men.they might give you aides and steal your favorite pumps.

  • @69freaktard Listen Cindy,I suppose your d--k strapped back between you a-- crack has cut off blood supply to your brain.Put away your pink pumps and be the man the almighty made you to be.stop moonlighting as a bi--h before a real man find out your a he bi--h an slap some testosterone into you.Now go douche your assh--e.

  • Eh I kinda wanna see it but I probably won't for a long time. MICHAEL EALY THOUGH GODDAYUMMM. lol

  • I'm Not In Much Drama in Films But This Film You Need to see,This Film Teach You Life Lessons But You Do The Mistake This Is Like The Side That Tyler Perry We Never Seen Before In A Drama Movie This Movie Deserveds a 9.9 to 10

  • The People Commenting & Saying "Oh How The Title Is Soooo Racist". Tell Me How It's Racist? Because It's Titled "For Colored Girls"? It's A TITLE, Get Over It People. There May Not Be Films Titled "For White Girls" But We KNOW Who The Films Are Aimed To. White Women Have Had So Many Films About Themselves & Their Little "Problems". Now That Tyler Wants To Create One For Black Women Are ALL Women Of Color He's Racist? Please, It's Pathetic. Whites, Try Living As Another Race, Maybe You'll Get It.

  • @JanetFanForever

why dont YOU try to see this through our eyes. and stop with the 'every movie is about white girls' bullshit. what would you think if a movie called 'for white women' came out tomorrow ??? HONESTLY

  • @MiSenigmatic

I Wouldn't GIVE A FXXK. I Could Careless If People Create Movies For White Women. They Always DO. I'm Not White And I Won't CARE. I Wouldn't Be SURPRISED. America Benefits White People The Most. You Wonder Why They Say African American, Asian American Or Hispanic American. I've Never Heard "Caucasian American". That Right There Tells You Who People REALLY Think Of As "Americans". White America Never Ceases To Surprise Me.

  • I Love My People. :)

  • I Love My People But They Don't Want To Face The FACTS. This Mess In The Film HAPPENS. Damn, Come On Black People. Instead Of Downing Other Black People, We Need To Uplift Each Other. That's The Problem With Some Of Us, Always Saying Shxt About One Another. No Other Race Does This As Much As Us. I Seriously Believe Some Of My People Have Mental Problems. Down Your Own People Yet Put Whites On A Pedestal? Whatever Though. I Love You Tyler Perry, Your An Amazing BLACK Producer, Actor, Etc. :)

  • @69freaktard Wow you sound like a prissy dumb little girl.I should have known.I suppose your part of the reason there are sooo many problems in the black race.men wanting to have a pu--y.men afraid to be men.I suppose it's easier to bend over than fight.Proud I have an ten year old who's more manly and gutsy than a thousand fags.take a testosterone shot buddy.

  • @69freaktard Desperate is not attractive.what must you look like to lower your self that low to a man who could never love you.sad.I now see why bw and aids is on the rise.Weak desperate women who would risk their lives for one screw, wake up troll

  • 152 who disliked this You must be out of touch unless you're white. we black we know pain when we see one especially what White Spremacist had put us throuh from slavery . Black are the real Jews who went to capitivty slavery ,bondage. The second coming of our King Yahshua will redeemed us from this pain.

  • i loved the book, i loved the movie, i have watched over than 3 times... it's all great, filming, cutting, directing... all are fucking great.....

  • Read the book! Read it back in the 90's !It is a depressing story .It was also a play many years ago!I think the reason why people criticize these films, is because these roles are not that empowering on the surface! The diversity is less and less. Now the film starring Zoe Saldana is a step in another direction. But we need more film genre's ,besides drama .Sci- fi, thriller, even horror .Step outside the box with major roles and characters.Empowerment should not just be felt but it should be seen

  • i love this movie. i'm a white girl and it still changed my life.

  • This movie was awesome. The expressions of poetic literature was simply phenomenal.

  • FUCK CRITICS! GREAT MOVIE!!! DESERVES WAY MORE ATTENTIONTHAN IT HAS GOTTEN.

  • @youbrajful The song is called "Four Women",this is a cover version. The original is by Nina Simone.

  • @youbrajful The song is called "Four Women",this is a cover version. The original is by Nina Simone.

  • @youbrajful here'd you see it?

  • Amazing !!!

  • this movie was very very sad in the middle there where he throughs the children and that time i started 2 cry ,but it was very nice i loved it

  • Nina Simone - Four Women

  • #crying

  • oh this movie #crying

  • Isn't it FOUR not FOR? LOL.

  • @iAltereeego1 No. It's 'for' as in 'dedicated' to colored girls. There are more than four colored girls in the movie, so 'four' wouldn't make sense.

  • Anyone know the name of the song in the trailer?

  • @clowicous The song is called Four Women I'm pretty sure. I can't remember who sings it though.

  • full-movies-download-for-free-just-clickmyname-and-watch-my-videotutorial

  • @BLACKWARRIORKING82 Well for an educated black man, your spelling and verbiage is ridiculous. I have seen uneducated men represent education in a much better fashion.

  • I thought Janet Jackson would have a small, squeaky voice but no her voice fits the movie perfectly.

  • why are people commenting on the harry potter movie here?? ooh just so people know i LOVED the last movie too, and it made my day, month,yr IT WAS GREAT, but im still a little confused...

  • @umiiAfro websites are just spaming, and i guess they got confused.

    it stupid. :p lol

  • this movie is so powerful but sad and heartfelt at the same time .... ? whts that song called ( when they my skin is black my arms are long between 2 worlds, i do belong my skin is yellow

  • I would like to know who sang the song in this one. I know it is, nina simones four women. But there is another one singing in this one. And it sounds really great.

  • lovely!!

  • Kimbereley Elise is always the one 2 get beat on !

  • wow this is good somebody tell me the name of the opera i really love it

  • fuck tyler perry

  • I seriously dislike this title of this movie. I'm not racist... I'm not even white. That has nothing to do with it... but if we are really trying to stop racism, we need to stop seperating each other. We are all equal... no race goes through more difficult times than another now.

How about For strong girls... and put an african, hispanic, asian and white girl in there... and any other race they can fit in the movie!

  • @babipassion25 True, I would love to see a movie of just women of everyone race, color, and origin focused on not just one. If done right with a great script, a great cast, and director...it could be AMAZING. I do like this film, but mainly for the actresses. They made this film for me. Th play is much better though.

  • @babipassion25

Can Black Women Have ONE Film For Themselves? Women Of Color Watch Films Focused On White Women & Others Yet They Don't Saying. Besides, They Said The Film Is For EVERYONE. It's Just A Damn Title, Give Me A Break.

  • The scene where the guy throws the children out the window was just the most fucked up shit i seen. so sad though

  • Yeah this was the most depressing movie I have ever seen, but I loved it.

  • @jennythediva09 Couldn't agree more

  • OMG @ 1:03 Janet looks just like Micheal....Weirrrd..

  • @sabanban they had the same plastic surgeon.

  • @talentednita

    well that explains everything O_o

  • I saw it over the weekend with my cousin for a girl's night out. I saw a little bit of all these relationships in my relationship. My partner and I put an end to the toxic relationship just last night. However I'm not cut up or afraid like I thought I'd be. I feel so free and so liberated.

  • @sanath895612 that site dnt even work i tried it and it make you download all this stuff and put in your creditcard number ...id rather just go buy the movie

  • they should make one for caucasian women!!!

  • so what was this movie about?

can anyone summarize it for me?

we got the dvd and we're gonna watch it, but I like to know what it's about before I start...

  • This movie came out 2 days before my 20th birthday, and my grandma took me as part of my birthday present. This movie changed my life and my outlook on it and I can truly say this movie is the pure form of art.

  • IT'S OFFICIAL... Hav 2 hav a box of kleenex by my side whenever I watch a Tyler Perry movie.Dis movie was da ultimate tear jerker. It was so emotional. Gr8t cast, excellent story line. U can feel these characters sadness, their struggle, their fears, their pain, their anger. I felt so bad for Anika N. Rose's character n was in shock witnessing wat Kimberly Elise's character went through.Watchin' dis movie made me realize dat we women go through alot of bs in life...smh

  • "Being colored is a metaphysical dilemma I haven't concurred yet" is probably one of the most captivating movie lines I've ever heard.

This was an AMAZING movie that every single person should watch. Black people so that they get a deeper understanding of our world and white people so that they get a look into a world beyond their own.

  • @Theleah5

    it's conquered, not concurred

  • @MrTheFlyingtortoise What do you mean by that?

  • @nimalp147 You have to see it. Tyler Perry did a beautiful job, and excellent casting.

  • @ChicagoTyme2 Agree. It's da ultimate tear jerker. I felt so bad for Anika N Rose's character when she got raped n I was in shock when Kimberly Elise's character had 2 witness her kidz get murdered. I'm sry.but if dat was me, I would've went off on him.

  • amazing trailer but heard the movie wasn't that good.

  • full-movies-download-for-free-just-clickmyname-and-watch-my-videotutorial

  • well... the trailer sucks

  • 'Bein Colored Is A Metaphysical Dilema iHavent Conquered Yet'

    AMEN

  • Tyler Perry is a Genius.

  • I just watched the movie and I did enjoy it.....What really surprised me was

the rape scene...I never saw that coming....Khalil Kane and Anoki Rose played

    that scene....
