The guy in the green suit reminds me of Mick Jagger from his and David Bowie's duet cover version of "Dancing in the Street" promo video, also released in 1985.
LMAO, what the hell was that? Stereotomy is a cool word and unfortunately wasted by The Alan Parsons Project, which is also a cool band name. They didn't even begin to define anything that was close to something that could mean Stereotomy. The music is dated as fuck and really cheesy. The only positivity I'll leave in this comment is that the cartwheel guy made this terrible sensory experience somewhat enjoyable.
iI WON THIS ALBUM AND WAS AUTOGRAPHED BY THEM.FROM THE WESTWOOD ONE SHOW ON QFM96 WHEN I WAS 14.I WAS STUNNED.SADLY I HAD IT IN STORERAGE ALONG WITH ABOUT 40 OTHER RECORD ALBUMS .I WAS PISSED.I AM 42 NOW THE ALBUM ART WAS AWESOME IT CAME WITH A 3D COVER.
One of my favorite songs. No, they don't make em like this anymore. Not even close. The passion and time that used to go into songs like this blew away with the eighties.
I graduated in '85 so this album and it's title track have some good memories attached to it.Glad to know it was done digitally so it will always have the kind of fidelity it truly deserves.Did you know that stereotomy is a way to cut large rocks? Go figure...
That's such a cool video. Knowing what the word "Stereotomy" means definitaly makes the video just a tad better because you understand why they did what they did. Even without the meaning though, it's still a wicked video for 1985
@GVike it needs special shoes! When the trick was first developed about 100 years ago, performers used shoes with studs in them that could be engaged with holes in the stage floor. Coming a bit more up to date, Michael Jackson patented a method involving a V-shaped slot in the heel of the shoe that engaged with a similar-shaped wedge in the floor. Google "Michael Jackson leaning shoes" for more info.
A friend of mine was a real APP fan, and loved this song. When he finally saw this vid, he was so pissed, complaining that the vid had nothing to do with the song. But I love this vid. I don't know what it means in the least, but I actually like the song better with the vid.
So funny! That was the Pack Building in NYC. I was in this video and this is the first time I see it after 25 years :) ... My god! Where did you get it from? Thanks for posting!
