  • 4:11 how did bowser got a smash ball? i guess he was cheating.

  • good job you rock very hard my friend :D

i would like to challenge you but im afraid so i dont want to. but anyways have you seen the mario movie it sucks more than the people facing you cuz they suck against you.

no lie :D alright keep up the good work :D

  • Hey now, don't insult my opponents. That's just bad sportsmanship.

  • @Overhazard

    Oh boy. Lol.

  • holy crap it's Isle Delfino! Awesome!

  • i owne you with metaknight or Pit

  • hehe^^

    4.54

    PIKACHU

  • Thanks Slippy, for helping Solid Snake and Giving the Landmaster for Falco!!

  • So that is the reason why U like Pokemon; using The trainer and Pikachu.

  • This was very fun. We need to do it again some time.

  • And so does your attitude

  • THIS SUCKS

  • Who's GEX???

  • lol at sonic saying "cmon step it up!"

  • do a team fight with you and your mate as zelda and mr game and watch, make zelda use that fire, electric tingy of an attack and fire it into mr game and watch's bucket 3 times, it will really annoy ur opponents

  • my friend keeps using thunder and thundershock and zelda keeps on using the fireball thing and the reflector he still says he's not cheap

  • It's because HE'S the one doing this, so he doesn't want to call it cheap.

The best way to get him out of that is to predict him. You should be able to pick up his patterns easily if you concentrate.

  • or maybe his a long range person.Someone who rather be away of the battle and use attacks like PK Thunder and Zelda's fieball thing.

  • thanks but i just use pit and do the mirror thing

  • Roihu...You need to finish the gameplay!

  • It probably didn't feel like a good Bowser because of how much he sucks in this stage.

  • Yeah, Bowser's no good on any scrolling stage, no matter how skilled the player. XD

...Oh snap! You're Roihu! ._. I was watching your PMD 2 walkthrough religiously back when Explorers of Time/Darkness forst came out. XD

  • xD

I uploaded the videos so fast when it first came out...

But it takes too much work.

Anyways, Bowser could be good if he suicided, seeing as how it may be easier sometimes to on a scrolling stage.

  • I noticed that you would upload them in clusters, rather than at a gradual pace, one at a time. *sucks at keeping conversations going* XD

Suicided, as in, used his Flying Slam to take his opponent with him?

  • If you mean his Side-B, then yes.

    I love that move.

  • That would only work in Stock matches, wouldn't it? A Bowser suicide in a Time match like this would just cancel out the scores and leave them unchanged. (This is, of course, if there are large amounts of pits to fall into and few ceilings to get in the way.)

  • You could of course, use exactly what you said to make it work.

    Even out the damage.

But overall Bowser fails in this stage.

  • Sounds very risky. The range is short, and if Bowser feels like he needs to reset the damage of his and one other player to 0%, that means he's already in danger of getting KOed.

  • That's pretty much the only reason you would use that move at high percentages. If you already know you're gonna get killed, why not take someone with you?

But yeah, it is hard to land it, especially in high percentages when your opponent sees that there might be a danger of you using it.

Also, what I usually do is kill my opponent, and if I have very high percentage, I suicide myself with his claw. Plus, Bowser's heavy, so he's got that.

  • Well, what I mean is that the risk lies in that you have to get within the range of your victim's attacks, and there's a chance they could strike back before you can catch them and get KOed without taking them down.

Bowser's side special is the one special move of his I can never connect with for this reason--I ALWAYS get counterattacked. I've never been able to use it online.

  • Try using it after the aaa move. That's usually how I do it.

That's usually how I take my opponent's last stock...

  • Does that have a better range than the side special? (Range is often my biggest enemy playing Smash Bros.)

  • It has a little better range, but hardly.

It is really quick, though. Probably Bowser's quickest attack...

  • I should give it a try then. Perhaps he can connect before hey finish attacking. People don't defend too much against me aside from counterattacks. (Or maybe that just mostly comes from Ikes and Zeldas.)

  • I once used Bowser's Flying Slam during an All-Star match. It counted as a loss for me, even though my opponent was KO'd first.

  • Hah. So do I. As soon as an opponent gets within range, BAM!

His smash attacks have very limited range, though. His up smash attack only works on opponents who are directly above him.

  • His upsmash does have a small hitbox when it already smashes his hump back. Not too useful, though.

His Side B counts as a grab, I think. I haven't tried it against a shield, though.

  • I think his Side B was recommended over any of his normal grabs, since it does 18 damage just like that.

  • Heh. 2:03 - "Dattebayo!"

And were you trying to practice pivot grabs on the practice stage for the second match?

  • Yeah. As you can see, I was always overshooting, even without lag.

  • Well, it's a difficult move to master. I still can't connect with it yet.

  • Thing is, you have to predict your opponent to actually be able to use it. Or you could use it right after his aaa attack. That's how I usually do it.

  • Yyyeah. XD I epicly fail when it comes to predicting my opponent.

  • With the special taunt, all you have to do is use the down taunt(Two I believe on the Wii-mote+Nunchuck) for one frame. Or in other words press it very quickly, I've used it so many times I can get it on the first or second time.

  • Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I was rapidly pressing the up and down taunts thinking it was the same as Samus becoming Zero Suit Samus.

  • Finally! Some pikachu action! I did notice that you kept on using the up smash. The up smash in brawl has been horribly reduced to useless. Down smash is now awesome with insane reach and the forward smash is a great finisher.

  • It has? I didn't know that. The up smash, frankly, is what I'm used to, since I used Pichu a lot in Melee.

  • The same for me, although I used pikachu. But like I said, the down smash pretty much replaced the up smash. You just got to get used to it again.

  • Yeah, I'll need to keep this in mind. I should do down smashes more often with every character. I still have a lot of Melee habits; the down smashes in Melee were pretty weak among nearly every character.

  • if we would like a chance to play against you, how would we go about this?

  • Against someone with good Dragoon aim, just spot dodge spam. Doesn't always work but you have better shot verse running.

Really good Toon Link showing, just needs more of his good projectiles (Nice try at 1:17 too).

I... know nearly nothing about the Pokémon Trainer actually, can't help here.

Ditto with Pikachu actually, sorry X_x.

I love Snake's Codec taunts! Pretty good Snake too. More tilts, and B-air instead of D-air.

Good fights overall, and noticed some more improvement, keep it up

  • I can be really good or really bad with the Pokémon Trainer. I sometimes put up really good showings, and other times, I can't really do anything that I plan out.

So sidestepping works with the Dragoon? Does it work with Cook Kirby too? No one ever seems to get caught with Cook Kirby's attack anymore, and I've been wondering what it is people do.

  • Sidestepping works against damn near everything. PK Starstorm, Cook Kirby, Critical Hit, Great Aether, Trifoce Slash, Light Arrow, Dark Beast, Dragoon, Warp Star (Air dodge is better against those however), Centurions, and Galaxia Darkness.

No, that's not all of them, but all I can think of off the top of my head. Of course you have to be more on time with your dodge against some attacks.

  • Wow! The next Smash Bros. (if it'll exist) will need to make Final Smashes completely unblockable then.

I guess this means that with the one-shot Final Smashes like Great Aether and Cook Kirby, you need to just keep the Final Smash in yourself for a little while to unleash it at a moment people aren't expecting or can't react to.

  • There are some that are unblockable and undodgeable too (at least through spot dodging methods). Off the top of my head: Zero Laser, Landmaster (the beam can be spotdodged), Peach Blossom, Mario Finale, and Negative Zone.

There are a few more but you can dodge a lot of final smashes through simple sidestep spam. And for those that you can't sidestep, there are usually still other ways to avoid it.

  • Yeah, the only truly unavoidable Final Smash, from what I've seen, is Peach Blossom. No other Final Smash has infinite range.

Of course, with those Final Smashes, they can't be sidestepped because they last for a while, and the amount of time you can sidestep is much much less than the aount of time the Final Smash is out.

Does this mean that, say, Galaxia Darkness is significantly weaker than, say, Wario-Man?

  • You can avoid the sleep of Peach Blossom, but not the damage (40% for those close to her, 10% for those far away (20% and 30% for medium distances).

You know, you may be able to sidestep the damage portion of Peach Blossom now that I think about it...

That's exactly the point, any final smash that is a one shot can be sidestepped.

Definitely, I very rarely get caught in a Galaxia Darkess for example, but I get KO'd every single time by Super Sonic, a Landmaster, or Wario-Man

  • Still unavoidable anyway, that Peach Blossom. I know you can avoid the sleep, as I've seen it happen before.

With the online lag, it's still definitely possible to get hit by any one-shot Final Smash. You mentioned to me that button lag is always at least 0.4 seconds, and the zoom is shorter than that. That means that you can catch people by surprise. Offline, I guess it means you have to catch someone going out of a sidestep.

  • Oh its very easy to avoid the sleep if you know how. Ironically, Peach is extremely good at avoiding her own Final Smash.

Definitely possible, as I usually still see one-shot Final Smashes connect. Kirby's FS just seams to be one of the easiest to air dodge or sidestep. Or if they are going to just spam sidestep, walk up to them and start attacking them until they run, then try to nail them.

Time also slows for everyone outside the zoom, so you only get about a .2 second reaction time.

  • Is the sleep effect throughout the stage? Because I've seen some people get KOed because Peach Blossom takes effect as they're trying to get back onto the stage.

The zoom slows other people down? I see. So they can still hit pretty often offline if you wait for a moment.

  • I kinda don't want to give away how to avoid it anymore than I have to =P.

During her dance, if you land on the ground, you fall asleep. If your in the air, you simply avoid the sleep, so with her parasol, shes pretty good at avoiding her own final smash.

You still have full control if your off the stage (or in the air), but people occasionally mess up their recovery without being able to see their character in relation to the stage.

Yeah, just gotta be a little tricky with your aim.

  • All right then. So it was because they messed up trying to get back on. (The example I was thinking of is in the Final Smash Montage video I have, where a Ness fell off. And I'm sure Ness is one of the harder characters to recover with if you can't see where he's going.

It'd be more about the timing than the aim for Final Smashes like Cook Kirby, woudn't it? The range for that Final Smash is tremendous.

  • It works much better than people think, so I often use Peach Blossom when I have someone with a low % off the stage. Gotta get scores where you can with Peach.

For Kirby, yeah, but I think he is the only one who has a one-shot FS that is more about timing than aim.

  • The problem is holding onto that Final Smash, as the msot common reaction when someone gets a Final Smash is that all the other players team up against the player to beat the Smash Ball out of them.

But I guess that's part of the challenge and is why Final Smashes are so strong.

  • When that happens, just run away a little to try to group them up. Once they fall into a favorable position, try and nail them all with your FS. Of course its much easier to say that then to try and do it, but it works reasonably well.

Being aggressive against a FS holder is as dangerous as it is smart, and the exact same thing could be said for running away from an FS holder.

They wouldn't be so strong if you didn't have to use a little finesse to land them.

  • I go into total defensive mode and find an opening in order to pull it off correctly. That's why I hesitated for a moment, for instance, with Toon Link's Triforce Slash. I knew a sidestep was coming.

I've been thinking: I wonder how Smash Bros. would play if there was no shielding, sidestepping, rolling, or air dodging, that the only ways to defend yourself are either running away or counterattacking.

  • Sidestep your Final Smash? Blasphemy! Zelda's palm was enough to absorb the damage!

..I look back at that fight, and realize how bad I am with Sheik. Delfino Square is not a good terrain match up for Zelda, so I thought I'd change and try from there. I'm not that skilled with Brawl's Sheik at all, really.

I also noticed that the only KO I got was with the Dragoon, I was definitely not expecting a barrage of items coming my way.

  • I expected a sidestep. Doesn't mean it actually happened.

On the other hand, I watched this frame by frame, and I saw that after I got the Smash Ball and landed, you responded with a sidestep, then a roll, then the magic palm thing.

  • You're right. I believe I was doing a bunch of elaborate button-mashing.

  • Hey, you didn't take my Pikmin-less Olimar request

But oh well, it's not that big of a deal

A suggestion with Pikachu: Use skull bash as a recovery more. I noticed several times during your Big Blue match where Skull bash could have not only been a good way to get back, but also hit the opponent for some nice damage

  • Not yet, at least. These were Time matches, see?

Most of the KOs done to me in Big BLue were me not realizing Pikachu was on the road until too late, actually.

  • Oh, right right, duh

  • "Hi_Ophie!"

    "404 Error"

That made me laugh for a strange reason. Great brawls though. It's nice to see a few challenges from a few people here. :)

  • One match I didn't upload had, "You said...CHOCOLATE?" and then, "Believe it" immediately afterward. I should've kept that match just for that exchange.

  • Smash taunts are hard but seeing Slippy is well worth it! That wasn't a Naruto reference at 2:03 was it?

  • "Believe it"? Yes, I had Naruto in mind with that precisely because how annoyingly often he says it.

  • Believe it!

Hm, is that all you got?

    You're too slow! XD

  • i could only play saturday or sunday at brawl9in canada)

  • I admit to making several goof-ups in all of our matches together. I was a bit giddy after I saw you pop online on my friend's list.

By the way, you had the usual button lag in the matches, didn't you?

  • Yes, I did. The lag got worse as the matches went on.

  • I was hoping that since I didn't find any noticeable lag, perhaps you guys didn't either.

Oh, and I noticed that I barely even touched you during the Rainbow Cruise. We both decided to have Bowser for supper.

  • Which sucked on my end.:(

  • The lag returned with a vengeance when LordShade67 returned though. I wonder if he was already using a computer.

  • Yeah,I was uploading vids at that time.My Bad.

  • Oh, I see. When I'm uploading something, I can't even go online with SSBB. I get disconnected right after I get on.

  • could i have a match with u?

  • The first time I saw bowsers final smash I yelled out "AHHH WHAT THE HELL IS THAT??!!!!"

  • Match #2 Had lots of lag. I only battle people with good connection so I can feel comfortable.

  • wats 404 error mean?

  • It's when a computer can't reach a web site. The error code is "404."

  • k thanks!!!

  • I wish I could stay up and play at 3:00 A.M. Nevertheless, Brawl is stll fun even though it has a minor lagging problem.

  • i agree with ya
