barral and roger i believe do not really train with each other though they represent one team. roger is based in West England.

ok maybe some of the guys that are close friends do this type of nonsens, but as i was saying, Professor Carlos Gracie Jr specificly tells his students that a World Championship is too important for this "gentlemens agreement" and i said that because someone else wrote that its a "Team" agreement, well its just the opposite in Gracie Barras case, Carlinhos (the team) is telling his guys NOT to do this

then it means its a personal and not a Team decision

well i really wouldn't know because i am not from Gracie Barra, nor have i met Mestre Carlos Gracie Jr.

but the fact of the matter is. fighting with teammates(or sparring partners) in actual competition exposes a lot of weaknesses in your game. since you very well know each others techniques and counters to it.

it really isn't about being close or good friends. they roll everyday. it's really about the opponents not finding out your weaknesses.

you dont have to explain enything to me i ALSO compete in jiu jitsu tournaments, and ´teammates sometimes choose not to fight NOT because they know eachothers weaknesses but for some other reason

for example they both know who of them has a better chance of winning the tournament so they let that guy go trought without spending energy in one more fight so that he can be fresh against his next opponent
