ya'll really cant compare the two b/c quik was a DJ and dre was a producer.....dj's mix/scratch beats that give an album that mixtape smooth feeling.....dj's also add in the different instruments to give the beat that "full" feeling.....but remember you cant make anything w/o a dope beat...which is intended to loop through the song and set the stage for the mastering.....dre not only made some of the best beats but he also mastered samples perfectly, now dudes just copy entire songs

ya'll really cant compare the two b/c quik was a DJ and dre was a producer.....dj's mix/scratch beats that give an album that mixtape smooth feeling.....dj's also add in the different instruments to give the beat that "full" feeling.....but remember you cant make anything w/o a dope beat...which is intended to loop through the song and set the stage for the mastering.....dre not only made some of the best beats but he also mastered samples perfectly, now dudes just copy entire songs

WTF are you talking about big, Quik is a fucking producer just as much as Dr Dre...if not even better in the sense that Quik can produce beats, play all the instruments, mix, and master the tracks himself. Dre is a genius and a perfectionist on his own, but they are both brilliant producers.

Quik vs Dre? No contest.......Quik makes 4 to 5 minute tracks. Dre makes 8 bar loops that run for 4 to 5 minutes. ......Quik claps in the shower to add to his snares. Dre digs in the crates. Dre comes to Quik for beats, not the other way around. Notice Quik wearing a BLUE shirt on this album cover.

What u dudes has gotta understand is that a producer doesn't have to play every instrument...his job is simply to PRODUCE a beat. Just like a movie the producer don't run the camera, do the make up, and stunts and all that. Dre is a producer....Quik is a producer/DJ

True, but Dre DISCOVERS a lot of beats. Listen to the SNARE on this song. When has Dre produced a snare that sounds like this one? Hear the echo on every other beat? (a la Roger Troutman - who taught Quik the vocoder, btw). Quik plays instruments too (see 2nd II None album from 1999).
