  • He does look rather pissed...

  • Love the rollicking sound. Like "tigger" it makes you want to bounce along..Go Morris dancers everywhere.

  • Prick'ly Bush surely. Hehehehe prick.

  • @Derucolindo He's a legend anyway.

  • After much discussing, my friend and I decided Jon was drunk... watch him, and it becomes clear =D.

  • @BlachAndWhite16 I dunno, he is quite the bouncy frontman normally. If he is though then what a legend, to be able to perform so well after a skinful is a rare talent.

  • Dowwnload the audio from this video at tubepull doht cohm.

  • nice pizicato stuff with the fiddles near the end on the three jolly sheepskins... don't think they do that on the record :-(

  • This song never fails to make me feel good after listening to it. I've yet to see this band live but will be on the case this year, they seem absolutely amazing live.

  • doesn't the lovely jon boden look like a buzzard at 1:02 ?!?!?

  • @MrHathouse Did he took something??? his pupil shrinksˊˋ

  • @machuyoli I know he looks pilled up eh?

  • Quality.

  • Great arrangement - fantastic use of dynamics - sheer class.

  • dis is lyk mi favourite song ever!

  • Looking forward to seeing these guys at Winnipig.

  • saw them at the festival of folk in holmfirth last saturday and they were fantastic. .the best i have seen for a long time and this was my fave song

  • You lot should listen to Beirut, they are like a french version of Bellowhead...in my opinion just as good.

  • absolutely amazing!! x

  • I just love this song. I first heard it at the Musicport at Whitby. Great venue, alas no more.

  • 0:50

  • 0:45

  • 0:45. That's all

  • Awesome - I saw them at Koko last night, maybe the best live act i've ever seen. John is a better frontman now, he's learnt to use his arms when he's not fiddling. He still seemed a little drunk though.

  • i heard them at a festival,

and this song was my favorite...

i was dancing in the rain to it xD

    love it xo

  • i hope your a girl lol

  • Jon Bedon's HOT!!!!

  • Point taken Emerald

  • no affense but in this video jon boden looks kinda drumk... sorry! had to say it! they are still fantastic!

  • Being fair he does seem drunk quite a lot of the time, but you've got to love bellwohead

  • if you want to hear this on the proms just go onto bbc iplayer it has it on the BBC 3 Radio broadcast

  • Bellowhead are IMMENSE.

They were good at the Proms, but having seen them on their own (supported by Benji Kirkpatrick, who is also good- reminds me a bit of Seth Lakeman), i thought they played it quite safe...but they still blew my mind!

  • Bellowhead also incorporate disco, reggae, funk, gospel aspects in their music... where do you think they came from? Multiculturalism maybe?

  • i love bellowhead way too much but gospel?! please dont insult them :L

  • bellowhead actually have talent! they are the best band ever and u should appreciate them!

  • GREAT stuff lads,what a beautiful noize!

  • hey! they weren't all boys!

  • Should have played this as the opener at the Albert Hall, as it was the encor the BBC cut it off. Possibly the best folk dance around can't help but bounce.

  • i went to see these guys doing the duet (the 2 johns) they were amazing but i still want to see the band. Anyway. this is my favourite song.BRILLIANT

  • Guys you are brilliant. So great to see Tom doing Bellowhead as well as Kerfuffle as talented guy and great to see how he progresses-if you need a flute-let me know x

  • I LOVE folk music - think of Peter Paul & Mary's version of this song...and I love this too. Knowing the song made Belloheads interpretation understandable and had me captivated. Folk music is so easy to "progress". Music from all over the world is being shared and progressed - new instruments, rhythm variations, languages.

It's beautiful how folk music still trickles along.

  • Hi, I love folk and especially straight playing stuff, Irish. Went to see Bellowhead last night, and it was a fun, entertaining exciting evening. I will not compare it to what I generally listen to. They are doing something different with music, and that's always to be applauded. And yes - they are popular because they have charisma, talent, cute, sexy.... don't slag it. I would never buy an album, but live that was a great evening. FUN!!!! Don't get hung up...

  • Rog, I can only conclude that you are slightly deaf, retarded or a complete Luddite. You might not like this version - fair enough - but to state that it is garbage simply demonstrates that you have no idea what you are talking about.

  • @chapperz66 what was wrong with Ned Ludd?

  • @martcarey - He (or rather his mythologised form) tried to stand in the way of progress.

  • Harsh

  • its not a mess tbh

but i can see y u wuld think that, its called fusion music..thats y it sounds odd

i saw bellowhead in december, they wer awesome

  • Think we'll have to disagree on that one - 'fusion' seems to be a phrase used to cover up messed-with version of a decent original form, as in 'fusion cooking'

  • lol u missed my point...

its ment to sound bad a points, its the style they are doing...they make it clash until u cant bear it then it all comes together

anyway..if they are so bad and messed why are they so popular

as i sed b4, i love bellowhead...they are the only band in the history of the Sidmouth Folk Festival to break the dance floor!! lol, everyone goes bad at theer gigs..believe me, iv been ther wen they do

  • It's live, raw and sometimes discordant...but folk music is street music, often improvised, not studio-quality sound. I just can't wait for them to come to Australia....

  • I like bellowhead, but i prefer bands who are a bit more organised - e.g Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span etc

  • Good English folk

  • Folk combined with Klesma?? Wow, what a combination...fantastic

  • JON BODEN TOUCHED ME!!!

  • God dammit, the lyrics is identical to the Swedish version!

  • Bellowhead were brilliant at St Albans Arena, full foot stomping music, full toe tingling and heart and soul sound, wonderful.

  • Thanks for sharing this - I love Bellowhead! Saw them at Shrewsbury this year, they were fantastic.

  • Thanks for sharing. Bellowhead are fantastic!!

  • Very sexy!

  • Great group and great video; this is a band to see live if at all possible, and be advised, your feet won't stop tapping.

  • they never stop! I just saw them live, it was the highlight of my life I tell thee. :)

  • Thanks ever so much for posting...I can't seem to stop playing this selection. Not being from the UK I had heard of Spiers & Boden but not Bellowhead. I was inspired after listening to this video to buy their cd "Burlesque" which is available in the U.S. at CDBaby.

  • Truly awesome reworking of this old traditional chestnut!
