Well UP, UP is starting to go to EMD now, NS and CSX I think are going to try to convert to EMD because of the results of the GEVO series (engineers are now not aloud to walk on the side of engine when its in throttle 4).... the sd70ACe's sd70M-2's are the better engines then GEVO's. Now I have nothing against against them I have pretty good pictures of the GEVO's it just that EMD is going to take over the market when UP's entire GEVO fleet are in the shops and they sell them and buy more EMD's
Well I would think in about a year BNSF will finally realize that GE is not doing well & EMD is doing amazing with UP going to be doing that (selling GEVO's & buying ACe's) & they will join UP, then NS & CSX will join in and in about 5-10 years 85-90% of the engines will be EMD's, the only GE's that will be out there are AC4400's and some Dash 8's and Dash 9's. The only railroads that GEVO's work on are shortlines and regionals. Like IA Inter. I think in 10 years EMD will make the 6000 HP unit.

EMD needs a 6000 HP now. GE already has one, CSX's AC6000CW's are 6000 HP, except for one.

How about they make a modern version of the DD40AX. There's an EMD that produces well over 6,000 HP.
