  • This is really good!! How did you create the title pages? Did you use a specific program?

  • what photoshop do you use in your sketchbooks ?

  • A2 level? dats amazing!

  • i like this it is very full of emotion tho id like to see some of more than just people mainly you no offence but i like to see variety in art

  • @joshlee808 Thanks. This whole sketchbook was based on figurative stuff, that's why (except the exam work at the end) :)

  • were all of the landscapes that were in the final unit (aside from the artist studies) - snapshots I think it was called - art, or were some fo them photo manipulations?

  • @5Ulna Some of them were photo manipulations

  • @ShadowOfAFailure Thank you for replying ^^ I really did love the artwork in the last unit you did.

  • Wow, that is amazing!! I'm taking fine art when i go to college in september, looks fun :)

  • obsess much?

  • Before or after art college :O

  • @MrConzey I did these when I was at school, when I was 17-18.

  • wow ur amazing :)

  • Hey there, your work is amazing. I'm in my final year of GCSE and we have been given the exam topic, mine is traces, however I am struggling to think of what to do, your project seems very well structured and thought out, and i was wondering if you had any ideas that would help me start the topic, Thanks for posting this!

  • @MrJlal101 Try doing a mind map and just put down whatever comes to mind. Then, take a few of those ideas and do mind maps for those - you'll get some ideas you probably never thought of that way!

  • erm omagush . ur just amazing. wow.

  • hi your work is amazing!!! i was just wondering what medium you used for the portriat on 2:01 2:13 and 7:13 they are all very creative and beautiful

  • @bvillsccrfreak Hi, the first one is oil pastel on top of a photograph, the second is just oil pastel and the third is oil paint on a canvas sheet (with tissue paper for texture).

  • who was your artist analyasis for this work ?

  • @stephjackson16 There were many artists I studied...if you look carefully in the video, the names of the artists are usually at the top of the written pieces.

  • woah, i love this.

  • Delighted to see your tenacious genius at work Choe! I will be watching those efforts provided on the web with an enthusiastic interest. From afar much admiration. I'm sure you are well on your way becoming a truly formidable, and great Artist,...Never let the nay Sayers slow you up.

  • why 5 times the same drawing?

  • @MsJoeyJody We had to do media experiments to use a variety of materials.

  • wow your're amazing, :)) your talented to the MAX!!

  • this chick is totally talented

  • I HAVE THAT WRISTBAND!!! But i lost it in holland -.-

  • you are amzing i really enjoy your drawing and all painting. do you have your f.book account were you upload your drawing. i do portraits and i always love to get advise from great artist like you.

  • i would never know where to start xD

  • how did u create the background for the pages at 1.16 i love ur book by the way :)

  • One word: Amazing.

  • what was your mark?:D

  • This is just completely amazing. I love how you started off with those self portraits, earlier in that section. Moving onto others, body work and all of those artists, just insanely brilliant. This really motivates me to continue my work, and I've been studying different types. Even though I'm not even in High School yet, I'm going straight for the Artistic and musical path. If you could, I'd love to hear how hard it is, and obstacles you've overcome. What's the A2 level like? It seems fun. ^^

  • 3:27 this is amazing! How did you put the newspaper in the cheek without completely covering the text?? amazing work!

  • This is amazing! I'm doing my art A2 now and while I like to think I'm fairly good at drawing and painting, my laziness means that I have thus far successfully completed about two pieces at a similar standard to yours....

Looking forward to my C- !

Best of looking making millions from your work!

  • Wow, this is just great, What is the 2nd song please...?? :D

  • @skablotin Paramore - misguided ghosts

  • @ShadowOfAFailure ur work is really inspiring!! i am currently doing a level art and suck at it....what grade did u get for each coursework?

  • This isnt very impressive to be honest, looks like the end product of most female artists after high school. Many of these pieces are disturbingly spartan in anatomical correctness and just looks like polished trash.

  • @SummoningACryptid i'd have to completely disagree with you. this work is amazing , im studying as fine art at the moment and she is amazing. i think you r just jealous because her work is so good. you obviously don't know anything about art then.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx Typical female artist logic. Do you like conforming to stereotypes? I laid out an argument and your only point to make is "ur just jeluz lets see u do Bettarr!!!DXXX". The work is unimpressive and that is all there is to it. I dont know what kind of fucking clown school you are going to, but majoring in fine art does not mean you are good at it. I have seen a dickload of hacks get into art colleges because in current times it is easy as shit to be accepted.

  • @SummoningACryptid right so how is "unimpressive" art logic. if you want me to use art logic i will and can. she shows a good range of stylized and detailed art. she show different textures, colour schemes and materials. she has used both inspiration and her own style.also her work shows raw emotions. i didnt mean fine art as a back up i was saying her work is amazing compared to mine (i started AS). All you do on you tube is say other peoples art work is bad well im sorry but where is yours.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx The first few sketches done showed potential, but there are too many pieces like at 3:00 and at 8:00-9:00 that clearly show she did not understand what she was doing, and because of that the portfolio is held back. The subject matter becomes incredibly redundant and shows absolutely minimal thought throughout the conception of each piece. Whatever emotion trying to be conveyed is lost in their inability to properly see a piece through

  • @SummoningACryptid in A level you have to repeat a lot of steps because you have to study different medias e.g acrylic paint, oil paint, pastels, chalk, pencils, print ect. it is what you have to do to pass you cant just have a random selection of things they all have to relate not only that but you also have to explain and have a meaning fitting the givem theme you cant just do what you want it has to all be linked.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx And how incredibly dull and mundane you are for even trying to raise that kind of argument. What kind of state is our art education department in when assholes like you do not even realize that skill=/=knowledge and perception. Technically speaking, i am better than my instructor at drawing and rendering, but does that mean she is not more knowledgeable than i am? The answer is absolutely not, and just because i am more skilled does not mean i am better than my teacher.

  • @SummoningACryptid your clearly one of those people who are up there own arse "i m better than my instructor" then why do it if you think your better. im sorry but you do need basic knowledge to pass at A levels because half of the criteria is art knowledge and research you cant just doodle.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx Holy shit, your incompetence knows no bounds. Re-read again asshole. I was making an argument on how your whole idea of "lets see you do better" is fucking retarded and kindergarten logic. Is english your second language? How the fuck are you so incapable of reading.

  • @SummoningACryptid no it isnt my second language . maby read what you wrote because it isnt right lol you've made it sound like your saying your better than your teacher.

  • @SummoningACryptid I bet you draw stick figures c:

  • @CrumCrums You would lose that bet

  • @SummoningACryptid prove it then because you acting as though your a genius however you have no proof to show your works better.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx There in lies your blatant stupidity. Why should i go out of my way to defend myself from some know it all cunt with a BA? You do not substantiate the word of another artist by their portfolio asshole. An artist does not necessarily need to be skilled in order to see critical flaws in someone else's work. This is not the medical field, and skill does not always mean reliable. Honestly, how fucking stupid are you?

  • @SummoningACryptid lol how stupid are you as fine art is a level not a ba. and im not a know it all that's common knowledge. you were the one saying i have no art logic, i clearly proved you wrong. and how can you be a know it all and stupid at the same time lol?

Comparing it to the medical field is stupid however you do need qualifications. AS and A2 are A levels. If you want to work in the art industry you have to have these. there are no flaws in this and if you see a flaw name it.

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx I have never even heard of AS or A2 art levels. I do not know what the fuck you are babbling about, but it obviously is not required if information is not readily available on it.

  • @SummoningACryptid lol the first year of A level fine art is called AS the second is A2. this is an A2 sketch book (its in the title dumb shit). and you cant get in to an art college/uni to do a BA with out this or a level three btec

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx When in god's name has that even been a rule? Who has been feeding you this horse shit logic? I have no fucking idea what you are going on about. I have never seen these things before

  • @SummoningACryptid It isnt a rule lol its the exam paper as is the first year if you pass that you go on to a2 which then adds up to a full A level if you pass

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx Never heard of it.

  • @SummoningACryptid lol then why are you looking at this sketch book ? it is an AS level sketch book (it's the tests after gcse)

  • @xXxAmyPalmerxXx Oh, and for future reference, i never called you out on your "art logic" as you call it. You clearly know how to parrot artistic terminology, i commend you on doing that which most sophomores in high school are capable of doing. You never "disproved" anything about my argument because all you have said was "ooh its her style" and "show us your better". Those two statements are coincidentally the most ass backwards retarded and make you look stupid.

  • @SummoningACryptid no i said it was a mixture of the artist that influenced her and her own personal style. i am not GCSE level i am A level as i have been explaining. just because i learn artistic terminology does not mean i am a parrot or a retard you have to use this language for your annotations of your work and evaluations.

  • 1:27 Cum shot.

  • it most suck to be good

  • she is not shadow of failure

  • What college did/do you go to? I live in Notts (recognised Malt Cross) and I do fine art at ncn and was just wondering :)

  • Your Work Touches me :) i like it cuz its not like your average posing smile portrait. it shows emotion and humanity. keep up the good work

  • Good music taste, ever better artwork!

  • there all the same

  • very inspiring . I am applying for uni next year and feel kinda lost and at tymes demotivated to build a portfolio as i feel i am not as good at this 1 thing i thought i was better at. seeing your work has made me realised how if you try it is possible to push yourself and instead of wasting time thinking too much and creating a hole in my head I am gonna actually doooooo something thanks a bunch^^

  • Wowwww!!! Nice drawings! ^^ I have seen many drawings vid, and almost everyone use Linkin Park music, hahhaha xD but i love them ^^

  • in your work theres a drawing or painting which shows the rush, and texture in black and white i think, what medium did u use for that? and there is also a really bright vibrant portrait of u right at the beginning, and i wasnt sure what u used for that either :L if you could tell me, it'd be really helpful :)

  • @anna8063 Thank you for your kind words. I'm not sure which pieces you are referring to...if you could be a bit more specific or give me the time it is shown on the video I would be happy to help you.

  • @ShadowOfAFailure Thank you very much, your drawing is awesome, you have perfect music taste and you probably do the best covers in youtube, you're beautiful as F&ck, you're perfect girl

  • Woow i LOVE your work, i'm applying for uni next year, and im preparing my portfolio which is really difficult! because i'm doing my last year of high school and i have to do my portfolio at home alone, so i hardly have any time, but your work has given me really good ideas!! I was wondering,

  • damn so good...

  • 2:37 how have you made that? :O

  • @ArtGirlLisa d8 ik ook ;)

  • @ArtGirlLisa It's just a condensation image overlayed on top of the photo :)

  • @ShadowOfAFailure >.< hehe stupid me! Thanks :3 Xx

  • FUCKING AMA|ING!! thanks for sharing! :D

  • absolutely amazing a2 work :D

im doing a2 atm, and i was wondering if you could explain the sections of the video in relation to the course. I saw that youve done a personal study, but i dont really get how some of the work all fits together such as the landscapes and artists at the end. What was your theme? really inspiring

  • @shambipidgeon For the coursework, I based it mainly on portraiture/the human figure, and I linked my personal study to that theme. The exam is based on a theme given to you in the exam paper, which you choose from (which is why the landscape doesn't correlate to the portraiture). The exam doesn't have to link to your coursework because it is a seen as a separate body of work.

  • Ive finished school and am in university now studying Illustration. I just wanted to say how very good your work is, its very inspiring to see and shows your very dedicated as you must have put in alot of hours. My advice to GCSE/ A Level students reading this comment is to put in hours of work, dont think that 30minutes is enough try putting more and more time. You only get results after you spend lots of time on your art at home... anywayFine art definetly seems your strong point

  • @TheOnlyOwnage91 Thank you very much! I'm doing a foundation course now in art and design, and I'm applying for illustration courses next year. Which uni are you at, out of interest?

  • wow amazing

  • just wondering how you got the smokescreen effect? was it photographed that way or extra layers etc (im just presuming it was photographed cause it's so good!)

  • Absoulutely amazing! You've inspired me a lot. :)

  • your drawings are amazing

  • your work is unbelievable! shouldnt have watched this though because it makes me feel shit at art hahaa. Finishing my A Level work now and your A2 is better than it, looking at yours i see that my work is too observational, i see a picture and have to copy it perfectly, but you have given me some ideas on how to experiment a bit. Thank You.

  • @ShadowOfAFailure how did you do the portrait at 00:50

  • @ShadowOfAFailure what grade did you get for this work? it looks really good....doing a level art atm and not sure how much work i need to do to get an A...

  • i love this video:)...im 11 ive been drawing for 9 and 1/2 years and i wish to be a artist when im older...im doodling right now lmoa:):)

  • I think my favorite one is the smile one.

  • It's okay now, we all know what you look like :o

  • pretty amazing but as a constructive criticism i think you need more variety in your work, you might try landscapes or some concept design. with your painting skills you could make much more

  • I did f- all at A Level Art. Still came out with a B but wish I put as much effort into it as you. Are you doing a foundation atm?

  • This is gourgeous - fabulous!!... I'm just doing my A2 level Art right now.. I've had a high D for my AS, I was expecting to get a C but the examiner marked us down, you have no idea how embarrasing that is..now I'm trying to take it up to B this year.. so I hope I can make it B in overall.. I'm always struggling in observational drawings, so any suggestions on what should I do and what material to use to bring it up high quality would be appreciated.. ;)))

  • FUCKING AMAZING SO FREAKY THOUGH I WAS DOING IDEAS JUST AS YOU DID WITH MY HAND ACCROSS MY FACE!!:d

  • I love the set up and you are so talented

  • I just want to say thank you so much! I'm doing GCSE art at the moment, and we're doing insides (which sucks because my teacher isn't letting us do anything that relates to insides at all -.-) But the layout of your book, the different textures etc have given me so many ideas. Oh, and the backing music is great haha :)

  • @Dustyy1996 You are welcome. I'm glad I could help :)

  • I wonder who are the idiots that gave you thumbs down :S

I found your works great. Very realistic drawings. Keep up the good work :) Are you going to a fine art school next year?

  • this was so inspiring!!! i'm so grateful to cross this video thank you very much, you're incredibly talented!!!

  • @Syarali00 Thank you. You're very kind.

  • Do you scan your work then print and put together in a portfolio? Sorry if it seems like an obvious question

  • @KayAy1995 No, most of it is original work stuck in the sketchbook. The things that are printed are things I have done digitally.

  • which exam board are you in? AQA? just seems odd how you laid out your sketchbook, observational then artist research??

  • @kelrore84 My A-Level art was OCR

  • @ShadowOfAFailure ahh, thanks for the clear up, your sketchbook is amazing!

  • someones an emo fucker. (jk)

  • how on earth did you do the water condensation effect at 2:39

  • @BR000NY Quite simple. I just overlayed a photograph of water droplets on Photoshop and used the burn tool to 'draw' the writing.

  • This is probably really ignorant but, how do you make the pages shiny?

  • @smexisezy1 I printed on photo paper :)

  • What sort of equipment did you use to do your drawing and your prints ? and do you have any advice for someone who is starting that course ?? :P:P

  • @Cookiemonster3851 For portraits I use Derwent soft graphic pencils and my favourite paper is Windsor and Newton smooth cartridge. As for the course, the best advice i can give is stay dedicated and on top of the work, because it can be stressful sometimes. If you believe in yourself and put in the time and commitment, it will pay off.

  • wow! now you are good! :D

  • fab!!!!!! Best one I've seen on You Tube yet x

  • I'm actually lost for words, at this level, youre amazing

  • u in college ? ( art college )

  • sis u notice that in the comments on any art videos people between ages 11 and 15 or 16 say how old they are whenever they ask about something ?

  • what song is this??

  • @lucilleballfanilybr The first one is 'What I've Done' by Linkin Park.

  • @ShadowOfAFailure thanxs and btw ur sketchbook is fucking gorgouse i suckkk in art and jst seeing tht made me wish i was 1/3 as gud as u

u rock keep it up and never stop because u have talent pure talent :D

  • Your artwork is just so beautiful(': I'm wanting to go to art uni but im doing A leel now and i'm finding it such hard work! How did you learn to do the biro portraits like that? I've been wanting to know how to do them that style for ages! x

  • @abbeyg31 Thank you :). With biro, I've found the trick is to not press on hard for darker parts, but to build it up in very light layers. It may take a long time, but the result is likely to be smoother.

  • ..........you're amazing.... However, you've made me feel sick. I'm doing A2 right now.... jesus, I'm no where near that good. and we're told to muck about with bits of bloody tatt everywhere, rather than pumping out good drawings. so jelly of you! you're awesome :D

  • Have u drawn these?..:/

  • @XxNdubzChickxX Yes, all of this is my own work.

  • is it just me or do all your texts begin with ''i''? xD

    nice work!

  • how did you manage all this through the school system? A levels stifled my creativity.

  • @toGatherThinskin Well it did to some extent, but I had a very good teacher :)

  • this sketch book look familiar

Wired to ask but where are you from ?

  • i honestly have watched this 10 times! i hope for an A*! :)

  • You're talented, I admire your dedication.

  • Your work is amazing, was this for college or uni? xx

  • This is fantastic! Really!

Question: what do you use to print the backgrounds on? Photo paper?

  • OMG OMG OMG, IVE TAKEN ART 4 AS LEVEL AND IM NO WHERE NEAR AS GOOD AS U ARE :( PLEASE MAKE A SLOWER VIDEO AND GO THROUGH IT IN DETAIL, ANY TIPS ALSO ?

    X

  • OMG there are no words how amazing you are! What grade did you get?

  • @CocoMonkeyTV Thanks. I got A*.

  • its really great work +3 but what kind of media did u use o.o??

  • this is fucking amazing !

  • u're amaazing liked ur work alot .. and whats the name of the 2nd song?

  • Wow, you are great! I'm in year 13 now and just started another year of art.. sketchbooks actually really stress me out, I can never get it set out right, it doesn't help that my best friend who sits next to me is an art god and even her work on a bad day outshines my best stuff, but yeah, I find it hard to get it all presented on a page creatively and interestingly but at the same time getting all the information that I need on there.. any tips?

  • @chaz081 Thank you :). I also struggled with presentation. Try and link each page to the theme of your project, say doing a background that is relevant. Don't make it too cluttered because you want the main focus to be the pieces of work. Maybe just lay down a light wash of paint as a background. The simplest thing that I've done is just stick each piece on black (or coloured, if you wish) paper and cut around it, leaving a border. In your sketchbook, this will be simple yet framed.

  • @chaz081 That's the exact same with me! In my art class, my best friend sits next to me and I'll be like "My art is pretty good today :D!" Then I look at hers, and I'm like, lol nope XD

  • This is the perfect girl. Plays guitar, artist, but not the nature or abstract kind, and she likes rock.

    WHAT MORE COULD ANYONE WANT!

  • all i can say is wow , seriously , im in 5th year thinking of doing art for college in 2 years and i have to work on my portfolio for the interview , my teacher said you need 20 A2 pieces in different medieums and at least 2 sketch books of your recent work , been looking up portfolios all week ad came across yours and yours is so well thought out and creative ! I love the idea of 'fear' , never seen that one before . can i ask how long this took you to do ?

  • @ohsheann Thank you! The whole sketchbook is work from all the year, but the Fear project probably took about 3 / 4 months.

  • awsome i play guitar and draw to.

  • I absolutely LOVE the way u did those rain drops. They look so realistic like rain had fallen right on top of your book!! Wow keep up the amazing work, never let it go to waste.

  • your work is FREAKING AMAZING LOVE EVERY PEACE :)

  • Oh my gosh! This is AMAZING! YOU'RE SO TALENTED! My jaws just drop at 0:20

  • Mazin sketchbook. The work seems a bit up and down in quality, but some of it like the detailed pencil drawings are amazing.

I would've used a bigger variety of photographs though, more secondary sources, like the things that inspire you, and artist links. Unfortunately the way A-levels marked it seems less about actual talent and more about ticking their boxes.

Interesting to see what mark you'll get, sure it'll be very high!

  • @fatbabydave Thank you. That's exactly right about A Levels, you don't have much flexibility to develop things how you want. It's very structured. We were advised to avoid secondary sources in our work when possible and create our own because it would get us more marks!

  • @ShadowOfAFailure Ah i see, that's funny cus my teachers kept going on about that stuff soo much! Just shows how different it can be, silly really.

  • damn you are good

  • amazing work!

the song is from linkin park or what??

    what is the name?

  • @tattisuertparati ah thx. The song is from Linkin Park / New Divide

  • @TR120n2 I thought the song was Linkin Park - What I've Done :/

  • @tattisuertparati The song is What I've Done by Linkin Park

  • what is the name of the first songs??

  • Wouw ! You are a big talent !

  • Wow :D your work is amazing! what a level grade did you get? i'm not sure how to set out my sketchbook, its about forces and feelings and I'm not sure how many artists to use, if you have any suggestions, they would be much appreciated :) x

  • @PoisonIdentity Thanks :). I don't get my grade until August. Try and set out your sketchbook creatively yet organised, maybe mounting each piece on some nice paper and do a simple background relating to the subject. Don't make it too complicated - you want it to be fairly simple and uncluttered. I usually focus on 2 or 3 artists per project and analyse about four pieces of their work, but it depends what the criteria is for your course and how all of your written/practical work balances out.

  • @ShadowOfAFailure Thankyouuu :) x

  • could you draw something that doesn't make me feel like slitting my wrists please

  • Wow that's You? Impresionant, Why U have closed muth? U tell Many bad words?

  • hey :) i have a Question . do you connect your acoustic guitar to your electric guitar amp? :) thank you :D

    P.S YOU ARE AMAZING ! :)
