its an old bridge in highfalls ny on rt 213 west of rosendale been swimmin there for 25 yrs heard alot of horror stories broken backs, people crypled. gets closed down every year. once saw someone stand at the edge and dive almost skimin the secound ledge.great spot!
I went up to Lake George Two weeks agao and stopped in New Paltz on the way home. Thanks for the response. I'll try to check out this place next year.
Where exactly is this? I have done fawns leap near north south lake and thinkig of maybe trying a new one. I am going to New Paltz or Lake George tomorrow, not sure yet.
@Pilot9r t's a place called High Falls. You park near the post office and walk past the road, into the trail bearing right. Bear left and the river is wider and calmer, for casual swimming. There's a waterfall as well.
I did this jump 25 years ago when I was 17. I was going to do a swan dive but changed to a jump at the last moment. Could've been a bad mistake as I just missed the lower cliff. The current there is pretty strong too.
Fuck that running start / rock clearing at the bottom shit! Heights don't scare me one bit, but the thought of going splat on a rock slab freaks me out. Where are high cliff jumps with no shit underneath - nothing but deep water?
It is across from the Depuy Canal House, on route 213 in High Falls. On the other side of the street is a cottage (owned by the canal house) the trail is right next to that cottage.
go to the depuy canal house or to the central hudson substation and follow the trail all the way down to the old train trestle area and its right there..if you want to do some serious jumping do like we used to do nd jump off the bridge there instead ...just make it to shore before you get to the falls lmao
I live about 20 minutes from there and you people are C R A Z Y for jumping there. You could be killed. I know you find jumping thrilling but there's no thrill in ending up on the slab and an article about your death in the papers.

It's High Falls, not New Paltz, but awesome nonetheless. I miss home. Can't tell you how many times I jumped from there.
