But, lets not forget the Asus 1015 is about the same price now as the 701 was back then (2007) and it has a dual core proc. Should be able to handle it flawless. Still a much better investment than any other handheld entertainment device, thats for sure!
point is, you can take this thing anywhere. to get the level of mobility on a "standard" pc costs over 2grand.
This is a 300 dollar or less laptop that people are really doing some cool stuff with. Mobility for the money is what its all about, if you don't get it, then you don't get it.
so its not running at full speed? is it because its from the linux build of zsnes? i'm running my asus with XP with zsnes and it ran smooth with chrono trigger...
How do you get it to run so clearly, I downloaded vba on mine and its a little inconsistent with how quick it runs, especially the audio :(

Actually, by subscribing to Newegg's newsletters, one can find a very nice, full-sized laptop for about $500.

Sounds like small internal speakers (even ASUS can't break the laws of physics) and runs at original framerate.

it's not the speakers. I changed the sound software from OSS to ALSA and now it works perfectly.
