Lily Pons, who sang Amina at the Met early in her career, commented that the music is lyric in texture rather than coloratura. That may be for certain parts of the score, but not this cabaletta, in which fiorature of all kind abound. Nearly all the artists here are good to excellent, except perhaps Desinu, who simply cannot negotiate the difficult divisions. The most stunning Amina I heard on stage or records is the late Joan Sutherland, and Callas is also justly famous in the role. Thanks CF2!

Eglise Guiterrez is the only exceptional member of this group. The voice is warm and carries and moves well.. Anderson and Welting are excellent..
Gruberova's voice moves well but it sounds lke tin foil.
Joan was spectacular here.
