This news piece is full of inaccuracies. NASA has nothing to do with these tests. NASA has a strict no alcohol policy. Also, there is an implication that the beer was launched into space on a space shuttle. Just because it was tested in zero gravity doesn't mean it was sent into space. It was in fact tested on a parabolic flight with the ZeroG corporation. This flight, (in a Boeing 727 aircraft), most likely took off from a runway in Cape Canaveral.
@sydneydo they never actually state in the story that the beer was drunk in space. we just assume that's where they drank it because of the clips of the space shuttle. that's news stories for you, playing on our assumptions.
