HEY MATE CAN YOU HELP ME??? I AM TRYING TO REMEMBER THE NAME OF AN OLD AUSSIE FILM SET IN THE COUNTRY TASMANIA WHAT HAPPENS IS THEY HAVE LOST THEIR DADS BULL IN THE BUSH AND TRYING TO RECAPTURE IT (I THINK) AND I AM THINKING ITS CALLED DEVILS MOUNTAIN ?? CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP IT WOULD BE VERY MUCH APPRECIATED THANK YOU :-)
@81oakridgSTF Blue Murder is an Australian television movie that pretty much is only available in Australia i think. pity, because its VERY brutal and on a true story. Neddy Smith was a psychotic criminal and he had a secret partnership with the head detective Roger Rogerson. Awesome stuff. If you ever get the chance, check it out.
Blue Murder is incredible, sad that Underbelly gets more coverage because it is mostly shit. Martin and Roxburgh are flawless throughout. I think Wolf Creek, imo, is one of the most overrated horror films of all time.
The Boys is a very good film. Chopper is one of those films I can watch again and again.
Other films I love are The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith, The Tracker, The Magician, Everynight, Everynight, Stir, Ghosts of the Civil Dead, The Proposition, Breaker Morant and Wake in Fright
@Shagrat65 Its interesting to hear other peoples opinions and of course i respect it :) As for me, i personally think Wolf Creek is one of the best Horror movies ever to come out of Australia, but i can see that its not for everyone :) Thanks for the great comment mate! :)
@SpannersGerm669 Fair enough mate. What do you think of more recent films like Balibo, Animal Kingdom and Red Hill? I loved all three, some of the best films of the past couple of years I'd say. Really want to see Beneath Hill 60 as well, and The Nothing Men.
@steelbookaddiction Mate personally i LOVED Wolf Creek. Its not for everyone, but the violence is very REAL and BRUTAL! ... very slow start but its not as slow as most say. I absolutely loved it. Maybe rent it before you buy it. The Boys is a very different film. Disturbing on different levels.
Great video! Mary & Max was one of my favorite movies of last year. I wasn't prepared for how emotionally involving it was. Really excellent... Wolf Creek is a great horror film after it gets cranked up.... Some of my Aussie favorites are Walkabout, Rabbit Proof Fence, Jindabyne, and even the strange Picnic at Hanging Rock which is kind of hypnotic.. I wish we would get more Aussie films here in the states. But I see where Chopper is available so I'll have to give it a view. Again, great video!
I like this video concept. Love the Mad Max films! I liked Storm Warning a lot, I preferred it over Wolf Creek personally. I still need to see Chopper, very cool list you gave me a couple others to check out. Great video!
@savini1979 If there is one movie that i would bet my life on that you would love, its CHOPPER ... if you havent already seen it mate i suggest you see it quick smart! and get it in your collection :)
@81oakridgSTF Yeah i absolutely loved Chopper! I just have a real soft spot for Mary and Max. But yeah, totally understand you saying Chopper is the best film to ever come from here. Absolutely incredible and to know its 95% true to the real character is even more amazing.
@Heavymetalrille I am sure you will love it mate. Chopper is just one of a kind, however it doesnt have subs, now i know you speak very good english, however there is a lot of Australian slang in it, you will understand it, but maybe you will have to have repeat viewings to fully appreciate it. Or i may be wrong and you will get it first go :)
@SpannersGerm669 It´s ok man i have seen other Aussie movies without sub and i have understood them but we will see how it goes. I kind of have a feeling that i have seen this movie before... it feels so familiar and i can´t help to feel that i had this many years ago on vhs with a black and white cover showing a man that´s smiling holding a gun towards his head.. might that be the same movie? I don´t know but can it be.
@SpannersGerm669 Well i have done some research and it was released in early 2000 on vhs here in Sweden with that cover that i was talking about and i did see it back then, but i must say that i don´t remember much from it but it´s definately the same movie :D
Oh wow you mentioned my name : ) Thank you. Tony Martin is a fine Aussie actor. "Wolf Creek" is the best Australian horror film, "The Boys" disturbing but brilliant, "The Castle" still cracks me up Eric Bana is "Gallipoli" really good drama, "Kenny" so funny, "Chopper" who knew that Eric Bana was such a good actor before this film. Still have not see "Mary & Max" but will get around to it for sure. Worthy mentions "Two Hands", "The Interview" Hugo Weaving &Tony Martin, and "Noise" Cheers Tam.
@cheekychickenhead Yes, i have Two Hands in my collection however for me it just failed to make the list. Along with Last Train to Freo, Bad Eggs, Black Water, The Square and Jindabyne, oh and Romper Stomper. I have seen The Interview, such an interesting idea, however i have not seen Noise yet. Just never got around to it.
