Try R&B Records in Upper Darby, PA. They have everything. Sometimes I just know a few words to a song and they are able to tell me the title. I'm always impressed. I've purchased items thru the mail and have gone into the store to purchase. You can't go into the store to browse, you must know what you are looking for as the store is filled top to bottom with records.
It's good to hear this good music! George Garner is the Best may he R.I.P!!!! It's a damn shame that Lois Garner and his son Lamont Garner and his daughters and other sons don't receive a damn dime on none of his music and didn't never receive one red cent!!!!! Damn rip off record companies!!!!!!!!!!!
I was 8 years old, and thought this song was so sad. But I loved it. A radio station DJ that i was friendly with gave me in the 1980s the radio stations only copy of this song on SWAN records. I still have it. To "railwalker1"...It was a big hit.....in my heart.
Museum of bellas artes made of more recent version of this song, modernised, yet as infectious, and easier to find. You guys should check this out! :)
I recall seeing The Sapphires perform this at the old Paramount in NYC on Easter Sunday 1964 along with The Four Seasons, Lesley Gore, Ruby & The Romantics and too many others to name. Sam Cooke, in possibly one his last live performances, was there too. A British comedy film was shown as well.
Beatlemania that just started here. but did not diminish affection we were feeling for own homegrown artists; we thought there was room for both; even if the recording industry may have thought otherwise
@Neptunesque Great show -- I was there, for all five shows a day, for most of the week. They tried to clear the place between shows out with that crappy movie, "No My Darling Daughter," but most folks just dug in. I remember listening to The Beatles' "Can't Buy Me Love" while we were waiting on line on 43rd Street, it just made number 1. The Good Guys and Murry the K brought in English acts by the for their Labor Day shows at the Paramount and Brooklyn Fox.
We found it at a thrift shop 25 years ago but your best bet now is a Record Show or Record Convention..You may not find it the 1st time but you'll have so much fun you'll want to go to another one....Eventually you'll have this record along with 2000 others and start posting on YouTube... That's the never ending circle we call life-----
@singlejeff69 I found mine at a Goodwill, kinda trashed but playable, no skips. you could also check ebay or gemm.com, it's also on the One Kiss Can Lead To Another girl group sounds lost and found Box Set from Rhino Records, has loads of other songs like this one on it.
The Sapphires were a trio -- Carol Jackson, Joe Livingston & George Garner -- that cut this in late 63 for Pittsburgh-based Itzy Records. Who Do You Love was written by Philadelphia's soon-to-be-famous Kenny Gamble. Producer Jerry Ross quickly signed them to Swan Records & the disc peaked at #25 in early 1964, just as the Beatles & a host of other British bands were about to make inroads on the record charts.
Should have been a bigger hit...One of the all time great standards. Maybe it will make a comeback someday if some moviemaker decides to use it in a new film.
If only but tastes have gone downhill .. I doubt many can appreciate this .. and it would be a screwed up version if it turned up in a soundtrack. I am Mr. Positive
god bless the sound of philly, dick clark, you made a great find when you found the sapphires..one mistake, you should of promoted them, gave them more air time on american bandstand..what a mistake

Had this song been released in 1963 instead of 1964, it probably would have been the smash it deserved to be.

Yes, This is a great song and should have been a bigger hit than it was. Carol Jackson has a very nice voice. I love her voice.

Maybe Martin Scorsese will put it in a soundtrack.
Such a dam bittersweet song. middle part is great and then the organ sweeps you into haven. and then the song stops too soon.

@railwalker1 you could try to make a video of the entire song...unless the record itself lasts for 1:52...
