The guy behind Motiv8 was Brian Higgins, who has written a huge list of hit songs, including Cher's Believe [co-written], Girls Aloud, Sugarbabes, Pet Shop Boys and Chicane.
@shiningmile Actually Motiv8 wasn't Brian it was Steve Rodway. Brian was a programmer on some of the Motiv 8 stuff like Gina G. Both Brian and Motiv 8 were signed to Eternal/WEA by Steve Allen. Brian did though go onto do other tracks with St Etienne and the other stuff you mention there.
@SpiritOf1989 a great great record and brilliant Motiv8 production but your mistaken re the top 40 this record went in at number 12 on the UK top 40 as I remember, they had a few in the top 15 actually and i have a feeling they hit the top 10 after this which would be their highest chart position. Etienne Daho either co-wrote the song with them or it was an original french song from him and they wrote an english lyric..something like that.
can not beleive this track is 16 years old wow wheres the time gone. great times in this year i was 18, wish i could do it again 90's was a great experience when "E" were real 15 quid a shot lol
There are hundreds of people on YouTube attempting remixes every day, but there's a reason why we've never heard of most of them. This, on the other hand, we all know and all love: it's almost crystalline in its precision, and gives so much to an already brilliant track. This is a textbook example of how a remix can turn the feelings of an already great track into a peak emotional moment. Perfect.
Marc Andrews, DJ at the Fridge, mixing and looping bits of tracks over and over until he finally mixed them in and the place went wild, absolute mayhem. The time of my life!! This track is one of the all time Fridge classics.
i have this on c.d , cool kids of death underworld remix & how i leaned to love the bomb . but i still don't know why they've got ziggy from grange hill on the inside cover , anyone know ?!!?!? best dance song ever btw
this song is one of the seven wonders of the world, it is so beautiful, i went on holliday to the isle of mull when this first cane out as pete tong played it, loved to listen to it driving up the motorway and the countryside

YES! The most inspired pop group never to crack the Top 40 featuring the inimitable
Motiv 8 on the mix. Gotta love it! Laughing Out Loud over the inclusion of French pop
fixture Etienne Daho on vocals: when my sister was studying French in Provence
her host brother gave her a tape of the groovy grenouille. Brilliant.
