Hey, Captain! That loud warning alarm for GEAR DOWN is really hurting my ears, cant you turn it off.....Sure Bob, it really is loud. I'll turn it off After we land. Im busy right now.
First problem.... where is the Checklist, then screw chklist, what happened to GUMP, oh wait, 3 people on board and no one says... whats that sound???
High altitude landing (~5.6K ft on altimeter) on a short, up-sloped field (2000ft. of runway at most), with hills all around. This pilot was clearly in over his head and was so focused on getting in that he blocked out everything else including the glaring horn. And he came in far left of center line to boot. I hope the wine & cheese tasting was worth it.
How hard is it to complete a GEAR DOWN BEFORE LANDING CHECKLIST !!!??? freaking amateurs. Even when I KNOW the gear is down I still make it a habit to confirm it three times within 5 miles of the field. This was a $25,000 mistake if not more. So much for your nice Socata Trinidad you idiots.
In this case flaps up might have helped them as well as to have stopped the prop if this was a deliberate gear up landing. Minimize the damage to the plan. But this land was just pure negligence.
Well.. It WAS a nice plane. How do you mis that gear warning horn. Looks like a nice day to. :-( Always check Gear mixture prop on short final (and several times while on the approach).

I was always taught that GUMPS in a retract is:
Gear down, Undercarriage down, Make sure the gear is down, Put the gear down, See if the gear is down.

@SuperGmantis: It's called task saturation, and it can happen to any of us. Auditory cues are usually the first to go in cases of stress.

Was it a real emergency or what??? I can´t even emegine that the pilot avoid that ALARM!!!

that's the big problem with the Trinidad GT. I've flown one and it's stall horn sounds identical to the gear warning horn. Not nice to deal with.
V3ryfun2fly 1 month ago
@V3ryfun2fly you should not be hearing the stall horn that high to begin.

Can anyone see what altitude they were at? Hypoxia might be a factor.

Engine needs rebuilding, undercarriage must be fixed. Not a good day.
I don't think the video makes any difference. The insurance company will know what happened.

Translation in the cockpit: "Did you put the gear down?" "No, I thought you put the gear down." Saving tire wear, anyway.
