As with the Buffalo, so goes everything that Imperialism and Capitalism touches
The beef, Agri- and Chemical industries effectively removed the First Amendment's protection of free speech when they pushed through "The Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act (AETA)" in 2006 making protests against the inhumane treatment of animals into a "Terrorist Act".
Some free country, huh?
Speak up, speak out, tell everybody you meet. We're not gonna take it anymore!
This is SICKENING! How dare we kill these incredible beings. For what? The almighty dollar of course. If we eat less beef we won't have the cattle-issue to deal with. The bison have a right to be in Yellowstone, or anyplace else they want to be. Who granted cattle owners the power to kill them? I'm heartsick seeing this video. Thank you Elizabeth Gaylen Baker (sic) for doing this. We all should be informed about this slaughter and fight it. Thank you for making me truly aware.
Elizabeth Clare Prophet? Eek. I used to live up there and she didn't have a good reputation. I don't like the Buffalo slaughter either. Some ranchers are switching to raising Buffalo for meat (it's a much better tasting/healthier meat than cow) but the demand for cheap beef wins out in the end. I imagine funding is needed to help ranchers vaccinate their cattle or build bison proof fences around Yellowstone. Vaccinations would probably be cheaper and better for the wildlife (migration)
From 60 million to nearly zero in short order
