  • For those that don't believe it.

    type in bhphotovideo(dot)com then this

    /c/product/800836888-USE/Canon_2513A002_Normal_EF_50mm_f_1_0L.html

  • Any colors correction? (I hope not)

  • Camera orgasm.

  • Nice !

But it´s over exposed on the first clip!

    And i have never heard about 1.0 , u mean 1.2 right? :)

  • @kriEXss no there was the 50mm 1.0 before they made the 1.2.

  • greatt vid :D did you editthe lens flare in btw also if you did edit it wich editor did you use ?? thanks :)

  • hey, really nice!!! how can i get this kind of orange color light in my videos during the sunset in my 550D,,,, i have the options of using 70-300, or 18-55 lenses. does it have to do anything with the color tones that u get? thanks

  • is a Canon 50mm f1.0 about 5000 usd that lens , I want to buy one but is expensive... :||

  • What an awesome combination!!! I'm a Nikon man but may need to get a 5dii so can go FF. :)

  • The lens is still rentable from lensrentals

  • Thought 1.0 was discontinued

  • Color correction??

  • The 1.0 does exist, but was canceled because it was just too expensive. The 1.2 is better in every aspect, except for the maximum aperture of course.

Also in 1961 Canon made a f0.95 TV lens. And it was modded by some people and made it a f0.7 lens, which lets 2x more light in than f1 and 4x more than f1.4

  • The luxury series of course. It costs around ±$2,800

  • That is one "earthy" video. =p

  • 9.000$ used?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • What a boring video.

  • it does exist :P ebay . com /itm/EX-Canon-EF-50mm-f-1-0-L-USM-w-original-ES-79II-hood-/250949299822?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item3a6dbe6e6e#ht_9464wt_1180

  • 1.0 ??? 1.2 ok ?!

  • The 50mm f/1.0L is the legendary lens that is now out of production.

It was to expensive for most people (~$3500 or more).

    They introduced the 50mm f/1.2L in 2006.

  • its an old lens i think o__o i mean a legendary lens

  • great Lens )

  • fake! you blured the letterbox too lol! and there is no 1.0 EF...

  • look at 1:00 . . . shame on you!

  • @immortalartscom

HA! I'm glad someone else noticed that too

  • This video is a favorite on Nuku'alofa

  • The vignetting? What is it?

  • Music sounds like Naruto :p By the way; film be a awesome !

  • What software did u use for the color correction ? wooooow ! *-*

  • Expensive or not, these are some beautiful images. Congrats! I am sure you would have got the same results with a cheaper L Lens though. (I never though I would use the word "cheaper" referring to an L lens)

  • @monolito it is about USD$5000++ on ebay.... i don think they still produce it.. the lens is available in the market since 1989..

  • asian :D

  • only one word can be used to describe this video - WOW

  • this is so peaceful

  • 5d2- $2200

    50mm f1.0- ~$5000

    1:53= 113 seconds

    113 seconds @24 fps = 2712 frames/video.

    $7200/2712= $2.65 PER FRAME.

  • @rando76x lol

  • @rando76x hahahah thats hilarious xD.. how asian of you..

  • stunning!

  • Great!

  • Why is everybody saying this lens was never sharp ate any f stop?. whatching this video it looks pretty sharp to me.,i have also seen the pictures taken whit it on flickr.com. they all look very sharp to me?

  • Please show me the lens.,I whant to see it in your youtube video

  • Never knew there was a 1.0 lol good job!

  • @JoeBlackHDTV That's because it costs a lot lot lot lot lot lot lot lot of money... :(

  • @ShiroppoStudio where can we find it?

  • @kokfah Very easy on Ebay

  • @ShiroppoStudio its about $5000++. wont be getting it for a while :)

  • @kokfah In my opinion it's too much, I don't see big differences with the F1.4

  • @ShiroppoStudio better off just buying the 85mm 1.2L. way cheaper and just enough.

  • @kokfah I agree with you....the EF85mm f1.2L II is better

  • @davidjewels much cheaper too :)

  • brilliantly composed, beautiful track and awesome locations

  • DAmn! 1.0? Sure its not 1.2l, never heard of 1.0l

  • @elliottower123 You can get an 1.0. It's not a L lens though, and it's quite rare I think

  • @elliottower123 that's what I'm saying

  • @elliottower123 The 1.2 replaced the 1.0

  • @BrandonKingVloggin it does exist but really rare to find a copy. And one would cost around $3000-5000 USD

  • @DreamzCatcher00 I know. I said that the 1.2 is what succeeded the 1.0 :) But damn it would be a beauty to own! I saw a couple on eBay in the $3000-$4000 region.. Not too bad

  • @elliottower123 It was the first version they made before the 1.2. it had a lot of issues so they discontinued it.

  • @elliottower123 this lens is out back at year 1989.

  • @elliottower123 its f1.0 , its a unique lense! its 23 years old that lense

  • @christosk89 and is the Zeiss Planar 50mm f0.7 unique?

  • @christosk89 its only build ten times and have a weight of 1.85kg(for a 50mm its very impressive for me)

  • @elliottower123 it exists but its rare

  • @elliottower123

They discontinued the 1.0 because people thought the price was ridiculous (about 4 grand). They didn't realize that as the f-stop decreases the difference is exponential.

  • @TheCrashesshit Wow. I didn't know that either. :D

  • @elliottower123 yeah the 50 1.0 is the older version of this lens

  • @elliottower123

an Old L serie that Canon did, was selling brand new for about 6,000 US, but was kinda crappy for the price

  • @elliottower123 This is not my video, of course, but Canon did make a 50mm f/1.0 lens for a while. I remember reading a review of it in Shutterbug magazine. I've also looked at a lot of pictures taken with this lens on Flickr.

  • @elliottower123 I actually today discovered that there is a Leica lens with an F of 0.95... It'll cost you about 14k though :P

  • @AJnsm You should ask google for Signal Corps Engineering 33mm f/0.6 :D

  • @elliottower123 I've heard of a 0.98 o.O

  • @AmbiguousFilmsLtd How about 0.95?

  • @elliottower123 The old canon 50mm flagship was a 1.0 :P

  • @elliottower123 there is a Canon 50 1,0

  • @elliottower123 a legendary lens! slow, slow, slow af, ca, vignetting & deformation to the edge, but a ultra, ultra, ultra wide aperture! ;)

  • @elliottower123 they have 1.0

  • @elliottower123 Although YOU may not have heard of it, it does exist my friend.

  • @SeshMobfilmer i checked every 50mm lens and this one you claim to have does not exist

  • @elliottower123 when Canon decided to move completely to EF the launched about 16 lenses that included the 50mm f 1.0 L . As far as i know it did not had USM motor and if it did, it was not as advanced as today's 50mm 1.2L. Some of Canon's lenses are well "hidden" , like 80-200 2.8L, 28-70mm f2.8L, some are old but no one knows about it like the 85mm 1.8 USM, 50mm 1.4 USM, 135mm f2.8 SF and so on.

  • @elliottower123 there is ALSO Canon 50 mm f 0.95 :) dood you need to start reading books not only fb :)

  • @elliottower123 it's about 1.500 eur on amazon. my car was cheaper than this lense

  • Depth of field really abused when DSLR start shoot video

  • why do you have this lens?

  • amazing! what program did you use to edit?

  • amazing...

  • Why would you further add a iris/blur effect in post when dealing with a lens like this? Regardless it must be a awesome performer once it becomes night time.

  • beautiful! what's the name of this song?????

  • @AveRyMcSTeeZ

translated as the person may only speak Japanese: 美しいで!曲の名前はなんでしょうかなぁ。。。って聞きました。

  • i want this lens! where did u get it from?its been discontinued now

  • wow amazing shots really professional

  • magic lens

  • Ugh I'm green with envy

  • there isn't any 50mm 1.0 lens on the market!!!

  • @gunawantuna

Correct. But there was a few years ago. It's called the Canon EF 50mm f/1.0L, famous for having a phenomenally wide aperture and average image quality. Supersceded by the current 50mm f1.2L.

  • Comment removed

  • @gunawantuna you can find it on ebay, its a discontinued lens and runs for around 3000-4000$

  • You can even film under moonlight with this lens:

    vimeo dot com slash 21311814

  • Wow, well done!

  • Gorgeous lens but so much vignetting :( :( :(

You should close it to at least 2.8 to avoid it and I'm not even sure it would be enough...

  • AMAZING!

  • Is the vignetting natural or did u add it? You should have let it raw

  • wow that picture at 1:30 is stunning. Had to stop the video, beef it up to 1080 and watch the whole thing again.

  • There is one selling on my local Kijiji right now. the seller remarks ''for video, with a 5d2 in low light it's like you're shooting night vision'' LOL. He's probably not exagerrating either.... What a beast of a lens. He's asking 5500$ and got 150 replies so far, so I take it his price isn't too off the mark either.

    Dream lens.

  • @MorseCoach You can get a fujinon F0.85 and a Super Farron 0.87. I have both on a Nikon D3s, it sees better than me. :- D

  • wow look at that creamy background and the lens cost half as much as the canon 1ds mark 4 lol

  • wow look at that creamy background and the lens cost half as much as the canon 1ds mark 4 lol

  • OMG Where can I get this lens!

  • @jmekill e-bay

  • my god, that lense is ridiculous!

  • 1.0 insaneeeeeeee!!!!!! great work!!

  • Great bokeh !

  • JJ Abrams would have loved this lens for shooting Star Trek.

  • nice video! though it would be much better if it had not been edited that much... the peripheral blurriness done in post is kinda misleading =S... forgive me if im wrong tho.

  • @vyzel I believe it's the lens' f/1.0 that creates the blur effect.

    not post editing!

  • @task514 if it is then i would love those 5D2 that could shoot in 2.39:1 aspect ratio XD

  • 1:21 was so nice, pretty impressive!

  • omg!!!

    TutoriaL!!!??? PLS

  • on other D5 video tests i dont see the black bar blurry, why here?

  • This video is sooo amazing! <3

  • how could u get a shot like that at 1:50 ? is all that black just color grading?

  • @Al3xnBr3nt no, higher shutter speed.

  • i heard this lens is way over price and doesnt perform any different than the much less expensive 50mm f1.2 .

  • What is the song please?

  • Very beautiful video!

  • when i see butiful vids like this my heart starts to beat faster :D

  • beautiful

  • Would love to see some lowlight shots in the night and some with darkness and highest iso =) faszinating lens!

  • I only wish I could afford this camera. haha

  • dude a f1.2 cost 1.5k... this one costs about 5k?

  • @LikeAVideo I saw one for 1500 bucks but its very rare...

  • @LikeAVideo you can find this from ebay. Canon only made 300 of these or something like that

  • ahhhh!!! this lens is my dream lens!!! i'd love to shoot short features with the 50mm 1.0!!!

  • Beautiful video. My local camera shop guy said Canon only made 300 of those lenses. He has one as well. Only 4-6k on Ebay!

  • good short!!! what;s the title of the music?

  • Very beatiful video oO looking forward for my f1.0 lens :D
