I found a better way. poke a couple of holes in it with a skewer, wet it down and microwave it for about 5 minutes to soften the skin. You will not need lumberjack strength to cut it!.
I'm trying to prepare a spaghetti squash right now for the first time. They're VERY hard to cut open! Especially for someone like me with no upper body strength, lol. But this video was helpful! Thanks! :)

There is a quicker & safer way than using a Sharp Knife and a Raw spaghetti squash
First - Prick the raw spaghetti squash all over with a skewer or knife tip (about 30 times) so it will not burst while baking in the oven.

• Place whole squash in a shallow baking pan.
• Bake in preheated 375º F oven for 1 hour. When cool enough to handle, cut spaghetti squash in half lengthwise with a serrated knife.
Scoop out Pulp & Seeds with a spoon.
Now use a Fork to scrape the flesh into spaghetti or vermicelli strands and serve with your favorite sauce
