I admit, overhearing someone argue with someone on the night they were murdered and even hearing someone say, "I could kill you!" is bad. But doesn't Jeff at least have an alibi? Does Anne think he did it?
One of the things I always admired about Laura was her uncanny ability to hunt out information from a man, even when he knows that's exactly what she's doing. Amazes the heck out of me it does.
Anne's reasonin' here is so convoluted. She doesn't want to admit she was there, because if she was there she'd have to admit hearing Jeff say he wanted to kill Diana. So she lies about being there to begin with, which bites her on the. . .well let's just say it's come back to haunt her. *sigh* And after all this trouble she STILL came away with an empty hand. Poor Anne.

Btw, I took off your Alex comment, because the last line was a spoiler for anyone who might not know. So feel free to post your massive hatred for Alex again. I feel bad about letting that go. ;)
