hey buen video yo no hablo español pero acabo de utilizar a google traductor por lo que me hace ver un puente fronterizo, pero de nuevo nice video muy lindo ah y esto es sólo una prueba: el gusto caca bueno como pedos
yeah, i always consider selling gear for new stuff, but then i think how much, i will miss items, i guess theres some things i never use tho, or they just kinda suck, but u never know when it will come in handy
sure - you just only need something that converts the trigger signals into midi, e.g. the clavia drum brain if you own it. also, there's something made by alesis which i forgot the name of, but it does exactly this... audio trigger its called or so... otherwise, i don't really know the vermona machine. maybe it even has some analog inputs you can directly use? just look up the specs.
wow this looks like what I dreamed of the other day. But I was thinking 16 main buttons in a row multiplied by the amount of built in sounds, so no more 'instrument select'. short horizontal volume fader, and 2 modulation pots for each row. and a lot of memory.
I know what I'm doing...i'm checking ranges and the routing choices I've made on the back end through the ebbe...to see if i like the way the LFO is singing with the beats. You can't even hear the sub bass and kick on this mic, but it pulses perfectly with the LFO's release. We can agree the musical aspect is tiring, but the potential of this set up was immense. Since this proof of concept vid was taken, i got some really crazy minimal out of this setup...it was retarded and hyper polymorphic
"beta testing proof of concept...not a performance, just sequence, filter, and knob twiddling. Sounds incredible in real life... need to find a better camera mic.. " HES NOT MAKING MUSIC STOP FLAMING HIM also how could i get one of these ?
It for Deejaying maybe you should shut the fuck up cause all of the god damn music you listen to would be where it is if it didnt have this. hes only showing the sounds and how it work. fukken retard
I suppose i did pick the single worst beat/patterns to work with. I was more interested in the timbrality/modulations as you can tell by my ADHD knobbery.
I still have the shritty, but no longer the Ebbe... sadly. Divorced.
oh yeah that beat was weak I don't know what it sounds like in your studio but these sounds though rythmic,to be nice,QUITE QUESTIONABLE damn mosquitos
thanks for the compliment. It was a beta test of a concept, not a demo of beat making skillz...which is not a strong suite. This vid, in particular, is more about modulation, possibilities outside of what a normal 'drum machine' might provide. It doesn't mean it will move anyone's ass on the dancefloor any better than an MC-909. :)
hey digitalcp01 I like old samplers too but do not underestimate the frooty loops I can't wait to save of some loose change for the most simplest full version of the program .with the things I've created w/ the demo ,I can't wait to purchase one of the full version
I like old school samplers, SP12 turbo, Emax for example but...everybody must admit there are loads of albums (hiphop ,drum & bass, breakbeat...) produced on fruityloops.
Fruityloops is not a toy at all, since it is open to VST and that some people mastered it.
(I just dont understand how people can use this interface, lol.)
Why dont you just Use Fruity Loops like me..Its the best drum machine EVER..it has more than you can handle..more than what this does..and its cheaper..
yeah this is pretty crazy... i want a drum machine, but i dnt want to spend like $1,000 on one... not even like $300, wat do you think would be the best thing to get for cheap??
I have the Vermona Mrk 3 machine. I had a faulty epromm and relaced it.
I love it spesh the kicks and the hats and the nice fm bells you get.
I still have a problem and wondered if you had this.
The psuedo reverb tails get modulated, I.e if I have a long verb tail on a clap the snare will modulate the tail some how...causing it to dip in volume etc, even when I pan them fully apart. Is this something you get ? It can't be phasing, I can't put my finger on it.
I noticed this too... but this, imHo, is intentional... it's part of the 'compressed' sounding character of the DRM. Same kind of magic in the 909,808, etc...where parts affect other parts...in a 'bad is good' kind of way.
I just recently sold the DRM, so I can't test this for you in person to be positive, but i've often commented how 'alive' the DRM vibes..
I end up triggering drums in UltraBeat in logic using the 888's four midi sequencer tracks. It works like a champ. You can also just layer a stare with a sample from ultrabeat, but my favorites are using the noise synth in ultrabeat itself. I bet one of the MFB 5xx series, if they can be externally triggered, might work?
if i get a chance, I'll post a vid of the our newest creation... SAM-16, S1mkII, Ebbe...all racked together in a fold up Mixer case. Almost retarded it sounds so good.
Can one HH channel on the vermona be used to trigger open and closed sounds? or do you have to use the channels separately, I was hoping I could have OHH and CHH, with a cymbal on the second channel.
The HH's and the Snare are on the DRM1 MK2 are truly truly incredible. You won't be dissappointed! Also, make sure to read up on the manual. The HH' each have TWO midi notes they respond to, so you can get a nice human feel to them....
Cool, you have a lot of nice gear, any full tracks online? These demo's are cool though, but I'd love to hear what you can do with all the gear hooked up in a musical context, that'd be insane!
hey Mo...yes, all these are very good points. I'd say for what i use it for (like in the video) the Schrittmacher is proving to be 'perfect'. I don't need program change, live recording or arppeggios, and i don't need or want 'song mode', because I'm able to just cue up entire presets of 32 sequences each at will back and for The Schrittmacher's interface is better suited, too, for this percussive 'jamming' as I can drop parts in and out readily...
Seems like everyone is jumping on the Schrittmacher... (sp)... is it as dope as everyone says? And also what exactly does the Ebbe and Flut do? It is worth the price tag?
I saw the Ebbe & Flut being demonstrated at NAMM. It was amazing. The combination of compression and analog filtering gives it a unique and fantastic sound.
When we saw it at NAMM, the guy who designed it had an old Yamaha RX drum machine playing through it, and it came out as an insane breakbeat plus a squawking acid/bass line that burst through the gaps between the drum hits. I laughed out loud with delight, wanted to jump around. Because I'm an idiot I can't remember the guy's name... we spoke to him for about 20 mins, he was a little bit odd, but cool.
haha carsten schippmann... I probably met u guys there bc namm is where I met carsten as well...and that rx-7 was butter coming out of the ebbe! the bypass verified that it sounded like ass without it too,,.
why yes, they are! I also have a JoMoZ JaZBase installed underneath for good measure, but I run that only off off of the S3 sequence. Now, having said that, in this video, there is a fair amount of Ebbe und Flut action going on, but the source sounds are all on the Vermona. Even the clap's 'echo' / 'reverb' is all straight from the Vermona. The JoMoX was not used at all for this video. I use the L/R Pan on the Vermon to be able to send each/any part to the E&F...
i can hear a Xotox grove in there nicely done mate

I hack charities, and sell cloned kittens from China.
I also have a day job I work my ass off doing.
gotta burn candle at both ends to afford this stuff.
the other trick is to constantly sell gear to try new things out and learn. I no longer own any of the things in this vid, for example.
sometimes, tho, I wish I had an easier day job, and only a machinedrum and headphones...

yess... that's the trick with gear...
Stop chasing the perfect box.. lock yourself in the room with the first thing you grab and dont come out till youve made your album..
Course, I think I'll just sit here on the internet browsing youtube and ebay for new gear... maybe this time I'll find that one perfect piece! :P
