Streep and Eastwood are a wonderful combination. Absolutely the best! If you get a chance to go to Winterset, you must go see the bridges and the town. The feeling of being there in the heart of Iowa amongst the beauty of the covered bridges and endless corn fields transports one into the heart of this story.

i love this movie, i was atually there a few years ago, nice memories, did the tour of the house, visited the bridges and Winterset, pretty town and beautiful scenary. i just notice rewatching this trailer it takes them forever to get to the bridge from Francesca's home; wasn't it two miles away?

One of the last scenes in this movie...when it's pouring rain out & he's waiting across the street in his car to see what she'll do & we wonder if she'll actually open the door & run to him...tho' I think we all knew she'd stay put...but that took my breath away...I couldn't breathe! Also, anyone notice that her kids and husband show her no respect? She listens to opera, and her daughter comes in and changes the station without asking. Then none of them thank her for making dinner, one even mocks saying grace. This is how she fell out of love and was looking for new action. I grew up in a family like this and it was an absolute nightmare. The opposite of love is not hate but fear, it creeps up and destroys every aspect of a relationship between a family

What I don`t understand is the beginning, why she had to leave all that crap to let her kids know about her affair with Robert Kincaid. That tells me she had doubts about her love for him so she was using her kids as a crutch.
