Firefox/KDE integration on openSUSE

KDE is in dire need of a solid browser. Konqueror, Arora and reKonq just do not cut it.

@librano I use Google Chrome. Couldn't ask for better. Still in beta (on linux) and it's already flawless.

@j800r Yes, there are many excellent browsers but they are all GTK based. I use Firefox. There just isn't a native KDE or at least Qt browser that is on par with Firefox.

P.S. I also have Chromium, but far too many sites cause break it.

@kakita123 You know I haven't tried Opera in a long long time. It felt a little 'clunky' the last time I tried it... Right now I'm using both Firefox and Chrome... so now is as good a time as any to tinker with Opera... Thanks!

@librano 2 days later... Wow! Opera 10.60 beta is really good. Fast, stable, feature rich... It seems like the perfect balance between Firefox's gazillion addons and and Chrome's speed... Actually, in real use, I think it matches both at their strong points. No official 64bit Flash... no problem, Opera has nspluginwrapper built in.

There are a few niggles... but this is a beta. I think I'll be using it a lot more often.

qt aps that just use qt and not kdelibs look perfect by default in gnome, and kde apps also can be set to look really good in gnome in the system settings appearance dialog but there is no real integration with gtk apps in kde. i mean both suse and kubuntu use the same qtcurve theme that makes gtk look kind of like qt but not really.i find it really ugly! first of all it's missing the cool gradient oxygen has that matches the gradient in the titlebar (mostly visible if you disable those stripes)

can anyone please inform me as to why do i have to put up with all this inconsistency? why can't i use my favorite gnome apps in kde and have a decent experience? (i'm not blaming kde, i'm blaming gtk but correct me if i'm wrong) I have more than one computer and on one of my computers i have a gnome desktop installed... i can use ktorrent and vlc and other kde/qt apps in gnome and they look just like gnome (maybe except the icons)

I agree with everything you said. Devs should just use Qt and be done with it. Sadly they don't, just because "everyone's doing Gtk".

I'm using it in Arch and can't help but hope for inclusion of this in Mozilla's trunk :)

Is this an openSUSE specific patch? Even then, kwallet integration is still missing.

How about using konqueror with the mozilla rendering engine? That should be better.

This worked great for me on Ubuntu (found a PPA), I updated it (automatic updates), and it stopped working somehow later. I reinstalled and everything, retried different things, still not working, this is frustrating.

Did you notice that there were no icon for the file in the download box? That's same for me, and I have no idea on how to fix it....
