My wife just bought this book for our about to be born child. I know i read it as a kid but I couldn't remember the story. I read it just now, and man... it SUCKS. The grammar for a start is ridiculous, i just read one sentence that has 7 uses of the word "and."
It's a crazy story, the wild things tell him they don't want him to go and they love him, but they say in the same breath they'll eat him up. What is the point of this story, I think I missed it.
If they can pull it off, this could be one of the most charming and imaginative films yet... This book is a classic that so many children adore; I really hope the movie does it justice!
yea, could be a masterpeice, looked like there were some serious messages in it, they could have made it a more adult movie... do people still read that book to kids? if its a kids movie is prolly gonna be shit (compared to the book which was for kids)
Everything visually in the trailer is great. That song TOTALLY KILLED the mood of that opening bit though. WTF? It's making it look like a zany kids film with that kind of song. Can't they put some fanciful score that makes it fit with the visuals instead of a fucking modern pop song? Totally zapped my magic mojo with the look of the piece. GOD I PRAY that the movie itself isn't caked with that kind of crap because of the damn suits. It just might ruin a masterpiece....
Dude, arcade fire is a canadian indie rock band, not a pop band in any way, shape or form. I think the message of the song coincides perfectly with the themes of the movie.
The lyrics may, and the opening bit of it does, but everything from 1:21 makes me cringe to hell. Total wrong sound for this movie. Might work for crap like Super Bad, but not Wild Things.
Then I read the hungry caterpillar, now that book makes sense and has an easy to follow story with a good ending!
This trailer for the film looks a lot better than the book!

I think this is going to amaze everyone of all ages.
PS For those who don't know, all the wild things are made from puppets for this movie. The only CGI being used here are for the wild thing's faces.
