Hi there, it's best to use a heat gun as a hairdryer is not hot enough and will blow the powder away. Also u can use a halogen lamp as this generates heat also. The glass is memory glass from a company called ranger and the crystals poured over is utee again from ranger x
Just wondering... insteaad of a heat gun could you use a hair dryer as a cheap alternative??? Im guessing you bought a square of glass and used glass shards over it??? I would live to give this a go.. thank you
I think the best thing is to hold the heat gun higher above the work, alternatively, and not many people know this but u can heat the powder by holding a hotlightbulb near it, this way there is no wind at all
I do use embossing clear stamp pad first the i pour some embossing powder and still i fly all over the place yeah my heat gun is from micheals is burgandy with brown and no it has no low setting in your video it looks to me that none of your powder blows away at all. thank u for your advise
Sounds silly i know but are u using a clear ink first so that the powder sticks? if not this could be the problem.
If you are already doing this then...
You could try holding the heat gun further away from the powder to create less of a gust of air, then slowly lower towards the powder as it begins to heat.
U can also buy heat guns with low settings these days that create less of a gale forced wind which can also be helpful.
The piece is made using a Ranger memory glass blank piece and Ulra thick Embossing enamel.
This is the powder you see be poured and then heated with a embossers heat tool. (heat tools are used with embossing powders and are widely available, you could google this to find a supplier near you)
The gold edging is just standard embossing powder.
The leaf image is just a skeleten leaf that can be bought from card making suppliers.
