first of all thank you for all the great advise you give! and my question is about kefir because I havent hear you say anything about it (and it is supposed to be a super food), also I been following for a couple of months now and I have seen tons of your videos but i found that you dont use all the fruits and vegetales that you will usually found on a store, is there a reason for it other than availability?
I personally use Sun Warrior. I am not even a vegan because I still eat eggs. I still know a great protein when I use one and Sun Warrior is top notch.
Hi Dan, you are an inspiration. I've already been into healthy living for years now. May I voice a concern about the proteolytic bacteria ... Dr Blaylock explains in details, in youtube vid, why we do not want aminoacid levels to peak in your blood quickly. Can you, or Lou, give an opinion on the neurotoxity of too high a concentration of glutamate, which is an aminoacid, due to proteolysis of the original protein? I guess it's a matter of quantity, but what amount per weight would be safe?
@mi2maui Typing: russell blaylock excitotoxins ---in the Search field up there, gives you a list, the 1st vid is the most comprehensive. I'd like also to get anyone's input, if they understand the drawback of aminoacid concentrates as potential excitotoxins.
hi, instead of using the NCP probiotic blend, is it ok to use yogurt starter from other brands and still follow your method of leaving it at room temperature and not incubate it in oven or yogurt maker?
There is a Buddhist guy in London UK,that teaches me Akido and he lives on just vegetables as well.he cures cancers and diabetes and lupus and only takes donations as well, just like Dan.
Hi Guys, I made this recipe a couple times and the 2nd time it sat out on the counter a few hours longer and it become bubbly with a tangy fermented flavor. Is it okay to use still? Thanks.
So roughly around $140 dollars to buy the ingredients for this yoghurt.. almonds $60 Probio $50 nutrition essentials $25 coconuts $ 5 wow . its a super yoghurt tho
I want to thank you both for this recipe, I tried it it was soooooo good, thank you, i watch your videos over and over somtimes to make sure i don't miss anything. Thanks for educating the audience for everyone that want to live and eat healthy daily, I needed this. God bless both of you. I tried the lemon ginger blast also. I can go hours & hours without eating. It is satisfiying. I am 90% raw myself and love it. keep up the good work.
There is nothing wrong with animal protein but everything write with it. I love green smoothies but love my steak, bacon, eggs, etc. I feel better than ever eating the way my body was designed to eat.
Hello Dan, I tried to buy the enzyme and proteins on the site NCP but you don't seem to offer delivery in Canada. Can you please tell me what kind of enzyme I can use instead? thank you so much.
Lou, I am sure you have already heard this, but you come off as a real douche. It is really rude to talk down to your co-host. Fat IS fatty acids. Nothing needs to break it down into what it already is. Otherwise, thanks for the recipe.
So what brand of probiotics is that? Probiotic blend is a general term. I was considering getting the Garden Of Life Primal Defense ones. Any thoughts?
I have never made yogurt before and it would have been more informative to show the labels of the items used in the process of making the almond coconut yogurt.
You can do this with raw milk, too. If you're lucky enough to live in PA with the good Amish folks, you can find really good quality grass-fed organic real milk at health stores or even right at their farms. There's only around 10 states where it's legal, so you may want to find out if you're in one of these states. Hurrah probiotics!
What happens if the mix sits on the counter significantly longer than 4 hours. Like say 10-16? Is it less effective, more effective, dangerous & unfit for human consumption, etc?
@webj08 The longer it sits out, you give the good bacteria more time to multiply. Just make sure that the almonds you use are alive, otherwise instead of culturing, it ends up rotting. Do some research on fermentation and culturing your foods. It's fun stuff. :)
@imperfectionKillz Thank you! Actually, if anything these raw almonds probably very alive. They soaked longer than they should have. I've been eating it and it hasn't killed me, so I guess it's OK. Do you know how long this can keep in the refrigerator?
@webj08 I'm not sure exactly how long, but with my vegetables that I ferment like sauerkraut, I found that I can keep them for months without going bad. You really just have to eye ball it yourself.

I think they are out of stock on Nonpareil, but have have Caramel almonds available. Next time I order I'll get 50 lbs.!!! These nice folks have a channel on YT as well.
Dan, you effing rock, bro. You are completely inspiring me. I just got my BlendTec and used it for the first time today with a smoothie of blueberries, strawberries, maca, goji, spirulina, almond milk, and a little maple syrup. I feel like a champ. @xXOILER1594Xx He bought it with the house or rental...Doesn't look used and if he ever wants to move it will be an easy sell...getting rid of it is like like throwing 2K into a Breville :-)
Interesting maybe he drinks wine instead of water ;) Its very strange for am man who supposedly live raw for 38 years to have a stove and microwave in his kitchen.
@Gieszkanne Hahaha. Stoves & microwaves come with houses & apartments. Raw fooist or not, you'll VERY likely have a stove and/or microwave if you're moving into a modern, recently built or remodeled home.
Really??? Is it REALLY strange that he has them??? HAHAHA!!! Just didn't think that one through.
@xXOILER1594Xx Hahaha. Stoves & microwaves come with houses & apartments. Raw fooist or not, you'll VERY likely have a stove and/or microwave if you're moving into a modern, recently built or remodeled home.

I have purchased Lou's book and have been planning to purchase all the components necessary to make this yogurt, but now that I am reviewing the info with credit card in hand I am feeling frustrated. I wish there was a way to walk into a nearby store and reasonably purchase all of the items necessary to make this.
I wanted to incorporate this as a part of my daily diet, but thinking long term, I feel this will be too expensive and a hassle to continually reorder everything. :o(
My mix accidentally got left out on the counter for 16 hours instead of 4 before getting refrigerated. Do you think there will be any problem w/ eating this? I realize that it's bacteria so I'm not sure if I can or should throw it away.
What do you and/or Lou, or anyone else who would actually know, think?
Aren't you missing some lemon juice? And why not get the antioxidants from some high ORAC berry or herbs (cinnamon, turmeric, chaga)? Then it gets a nice color too, hopefully.
@meisisme ooh, that sounds like a good idea. I am new to eating vegetation, so I had a hard time with the palette. The coconuts were suprisingly strong. I never had young coconuts before. I like them, but just not used to drinking thick things unless they are a sweet fruit smoothie.
@rankiful You can grow your own probiotics! It's called Kefir, and you don't need to use milk to grow it in. You may start out with the usual kefir grain, and let it grow in a nut/seed milk, and do the same process. There has been far too little focus on this in the raw/living food world. Freedom means more work, but it's the most rewarding way!
@buddymartin71 Yes, and sesame, flax and hemp seeds, just make sure that they are sproutable first!
Nuts contains lots of fatty acids, but I tend to feel that seeds have more life-force in them, because they grow faster. And you can sprout them a lot before blending them, thus increasing their nutrient and enzyme density.
For those who think this doesn't work, let me tell you since i started 14 weeks ago, i've lost 40 pounds with the juices and light cardio for the first 8 weeks and another 20 pounds added with 2 mile run 5 days a week and weight training for 45-1 hour.
all the books that lou and dan post to buy really make sense, and once you learn and understand how the body processes food you will not go back to junk or cooked food again, i have never felt so much energy in my entire life, thank you Lou, Dan.
I just gotta say though I have been checking out alot of raw foodists and the ones that do the fermented foods are the ones that( at least physically0 seem to radiat the most health. Dan and Lou are GREEEAAATTT examples. This seems to be evident time and time again in the research I have been doing.
@ToxinFreeFuture WOOPS!! I just found you original reply to my post on the channel. But from my email it does not link to that post to reply to your reply. HHMMM??
These posts were in response to toxinfreefuture's comments to me. When i clicked on the link in my email, it took me to this box without it being addressed to her specifically. I hadn't noticed it till after the fact. I still don't see your reply on this channel only in my email. Sorry if you wanted to keep it a private chat. I guess I'm confused a bit on how to reply from my email.... Love and Peace
her frustration that too many people focus on the external powers to demonstrate something that should have more to do with the internal power. But in the case with Lou in this video, I get what his intention is - to show how raw live food can give a human body so much phyical stregnth and control ect. Peace to all.
Yes, I agree with you that what Lou is demonstrating equally applies to women as far her stregnth goes as well as a man's. I was extremely strong and fit as a women before i became chronically ill and emaciated due to a parasitic infection. That's why i need people like Dan and Lou (whether a strong male or female) around me to help me recover. That post you were replying to was in response to another female commenter expressing....
I totally agree with you here. Women do need to keep to their best in stregnth and phyical fitness. But the average woman is not strongly driven by it the way a man is. I personally believe it is just part of God's plan/process for us all to learn from.
What are the Products you mentioned (Nutritional Essentials?? and what plant based probiotics??) is it on one of your links somewhere? I'd like to see ingredients & find where i can buy. Thanks!
@odin422 Well he is actually absolutely correct... Check out the facts by yourself by asking your own local suppliers & reading the rules & regulations of young Thai coconut import to the US/Canada/UK/Europe & you will see... It is shocking & sad but true...
@tonysanton What you have been told is (unfortunately) true, at least for all the young Thai Coconuts for sale in the US/Canada/UK & Europe. But, as Dan has mentionned in previous videos, it is unlikely that the Formaldehyde gets through the coconut hard shell deeply enough to reach the meat or the water, making it still safe to consume, however it is a good idea to not let kids touch them & to rinse your hands after handling them. I haven't yet been able to find a supplier who doesn't use it :(
I have been eating mostly raw for the past 3 or 4 months and was wondering when the energy was going to kick in. I have been tired and today tried a tablespoon of raw honey to my green drinks and voila, energy charged and got so many errands done and took my hour long trip to whole foods too. It's a learning process,,,
Are Raw almonds from the store ok? Im sure they are not as healthy as the almonds on this video but i figure that the store almonds are better then no almonds at all till i get almonds like the ones in the video. They are from a store called Fresh & Easy that carry organic food also.. All the package says is Raw Almonds 2 g of omega 6 fatty acids per serving. and the nutrition facts in the back of the bag.. so yeah is this ok till i get real almonds?
@diablito469 New FDA Law Requires Organic Almond Pasteurization; Since September 2007 raw almonds available in the USA, Canada & Mexico are no longer truly raw due to a mandate passed by the USDA, FDA & the California Almond Board announcing that all almonds including organic must be pasteurized.
Suggested methods of pasteurization: Propylene Oxide (PPO) Fumigation, High Heat & Steam Pasteurization.
Check out the Almond Board site. YouTube isn't allowing me to paste a link but I can PM it. :(
@diablito469 The only exemption to these new pasteurization regulations are:
1/ Organic "raw" almonds which are not fumigated but do undergo the steam-heat treatment, which unfortunately does destroy nearly all if not all the nutrients & life force in the almonds & make it impossible for them to be sprouted &
2/ Small-scale growers who can sell truly raw almonds but only direct to the public from farm stands :)
I was wondering whether you could use honey before the culturing process. After the culturing process you can obviously mix whatever you want. But will mixing honey before the culturing process alter the process in any way?
And thank you for the tip about crossing the road...very considerate of you.
@bongapendo listen, man. Our bodies are tough old things. I shove honey in lots of mixes cos I do lots of workouts. Dont believe that these 2 dudes know everything. Get to know what works for you through trial and error. peace.
sorry but my question isnt about yogurt, but i was wondering what u thought about raw sprouted grain spelt bread? do u eat it.. and do u reccomment eating it even though it contains yeast and gluten? :)
Thanks for the recipe. It looks great. I am anxious to try and see how I do with it. I don't do well with dairy yogurts. I miss eating yogurt. I'll keep you posted...
I like soaking almonds. It makes it easier to chew. My Dentist says not to eat any food that is hard to chew, because you could damage a tooth. It makes sense!!!
and Lou talks about being strong and endurable thru spirit, not body... but here it is so much talk about proteins, seeds, nuts... how does that have to do with spirit, willpower... well, just a thought... u dont have to answer
Im not so concerned with external effects to get too much into this lifestyle of yours, so but u r quite entertaining... so, thats interesting, it keeps u on toes :-)

How do you dry the nuts? how long do you soak them? do you refri them when they're dry?

I have purchased Lou's book and have been planning to purchase all the components necessary to make this yogurt, but now that I am reviewing the info with credit card in hand I am feeling frustrated. I wish there was a way to walk into a nearby store and reasonably purchase all of the items necessary to make this.
I wanted to incorporate this as a part of my daily diet, but thinking long term, I feel this will be too expensive and a hassle to continually reorder everything. :o(

Dan,
My mix accidentally got left out on the counter for 16 hours instead of 4 before getting refrigerated. Do you think there will be any problem w/ eating this? I realize that it's bacteria so I'm not sure if I can or should throw it away.
What do you and/or Lou, or anyone else who would actually know, think?

Damn, Lou is all about HIS way. Won't even let Dan talk. Dan is the MAN, Lou! didn't you know that?

Aren't you missing some lemon juice? And why not get the antioxidants from some high ORAC berry or herbs (cinnamon, turmeric, chaga)? Then it gets a nice color too, hopefully.
meisisme 1 year ago
@meisisme ooh, that sounds like a good idea. I am new to eating vegetation, so I had a hard time with the palette. The coconuts were suprisingly strong. I never had young coconuts before. I like them, but just not used to drinking thick things unless they are a sweet fruit smoothie.

what about using sunflower seeds other than almonds?
7thWhiteApple 1 year ago
can I make this without Nutritional Essentials and Probiotic Blend Powder? Those are kinda expenseive. and i live in japan.
rankiful 1 year ago
@rankiful You can grow your own probiotics! It's called Kefir, and you don't need to use milk to grow it in. You may start out with the usual kefir grain, and let it grow in a nut/seed milk, and do the same process. There has been far too little focus on this in the raw/living food world. Freedom means more work, but it's the most rewarding way!
meisisme 1 year ago
Can you make the yogurt out of several different seeds and nuts at the same time?
Example, could you make the Yogurt out of Almonds, Sunflower Seeds, and a couple of other seeds and nuts all mixed into one bunch?
buddymartin71 1 year ago
@buddymartin71 Yes, and sesame, flax and hemp seeds, just make sure that they are sproutable first!
Nuts contains lots of fatty acids, but I tend to feel that seeds have more life-force in them, because they grow faster. And you can sprout them a lot before blending them, thus increasing their nutrient and enzyme density.

Cool video. I'm after some advise if anyone can help. I have no access to coconuts, what can I use instead?

RITRTR 1 year ago
Yes, I agree with you that what Lou is demonstrating equally applies to women as far her stregnth goes as well as a man's. I was extremely strong and fit as a women before i became chronically ill and emaciated due to a parasitic infection. That's why i need people like Dan and Lou (whether a strong male or female) around me to help me recover. That post you were replying to was in response to another female commenter expressing....
RITRTR 1 year ago
I totally agree with you here. Women do need to keep to their best in stregnth and phyical fitness. But the average woman is not strongly driven by it the way a man is. I personally believe it is just part of God's plan/process for us all to learn from.

I have been told that young Thai coconuts are dipped in Formaldehyde to preserve before shipment. Does anyone have any information on this?
tonysanton 1 year ago
@tonysanton i highly doubt that.
odin422 1 year ago
@odin422 Well he is actually absolutely correct... Check out the facts by yourself by asking your own local suppliers & reading the rules & regulations of young Thai coconut import to the US/Canada/UK/Europe & you will see... It is shocking & sad but true...
Chlorophyllful 1 year ago
@tonysanton What you have been told is (unfortunately) true, at least for all the young Thai Coconuts for sale in the US/Canada/UK & Europe. But, as Dan has mentionned in previous videos, it is unlikely that the Formaldehyde gets through the coconut hard shell deeply enough to reach the meat or the water, making it still safe to consume, however it is a good idea to not let kids touch them & to rinse your hands after handling them. I haven't yet been able to find a supplier who doesn't use it :(

@Chlorophyllful i totally doesnt get through

I have been eating mostly raw for the past 3 or 4 months and was wondering when the energy was going to kick in. I have been tired and today tried a tablespoon of raw honey to my green drinks and voila, energy charged and got so many errands done and took my hour long trip to whole foods too. It's a learning process,,,

Are Raw almonds from the store ok? Im sure they are not as healthy as the almonds on this video but i figure that the store almonds are better then no almonds at all till i get almonds like the ones in the video. They are from a store called Fresh & Easy that carry organic food also.. All the package says is Raw Almonds 2 g of omega 6 fatty acids per serving. and the nutrition facts in the back of the bag.. so yeah is this ok till i get real almonds?
diablito469 1 year ago
@diablito469 New FDA Law Requires Organic Almond Pasteurization; Since September 2007 raw almonds available in the USA, Canada & Mexico are no longer truly raw due to a mandate passed by the USDA, FDA & the California Almond Board announcing that all almonds including organic must be pasteurized.
Suggested methods of pasteurization: Propylene Oxide (PPO) Fumigation, High Heat & Steam Pasteurization.
Check out the Almond Board site. YouTube isn't allowing me to paste a link but I can PM it. :(
Chlorophyllful 1 year ago
@diablito469 The only exemption to these new pasteurization regulations are:
1/ Organic "raw" almonds which are not fumigated but do undergo the steam-heat treatment, which unfortunately does destroy nearly all if not all the nutrients & life force in the almonds & make it impossible for them to be sprouted &
2/ Small-scale growers who can sell truly raw almonds but only direct to the public from farm stands :)
Chlorophyllful 1 year ago
@Chlorophyllful So i guess my almonds from this store was a waste of money :(

@bongapendo : yes spoon some honey in there and blend it and drink it. yeah. go large. you dont need permission to do this. OK?
and ... look both ways before you cross the road.

@BOYZEEE1
I was wondering whether you could use honey before the culturing process. After the culturing process you can obviously mix whatever you want. But will mixing honey before the culturing process alter the process in any way?
And thank you for the tip about crossing the road...very considerate of you.
bongapendo 1 year ago
@bongapendo listen, man. Our bodies are tough old things. I shove honey in lots of mixes cos I do lots of workouts. Dont believe that these 2 dudes know everything. Get to know what works for you through trial and error. peace.
