@leirgauk Dude, Matt and Trey don't like the first seasons. If you listen to the commentary on the shows, they talk about how they didn't know what real writing ones during the first few seasons. I personally love the new shit. They get funnier every season in my opinion. How many shows can you say that about? Honestly?

Sean Penn can do good acting some times, but he does seem like having a pretty arrogant and intolerant personality. Every actor, heck, every famous celebrity in the world gets criticized and ripped on some times, you can't expect everyone to love you. Matt and Trey are not being mean to Sean Penn, they are just joking about and parodying him, just like they joke about and parody tons of other celebrities. The fact that he can't accept a joke makes me lose respect for the man.

I like and admire Matt Stone's and Trey Parker's work very much. My take is that they are "playing the game" by pretending that they are unaware of how much power they have to influence public opinion. It is possible, though, that they chose to NOT weave a political message into the Penn character in that puppet flick.
