or (more likely)if Branson after reading Watchmen &taking certain points.. (Virgins big rise was coincidentally in the mid 80's) realised his lowly idea of just running a moderate record store/party record label chain could be bigger using some of Veidt/Moores ideas??

I love how this is Watchmen's MTV of sorts. What I never understood was where did all of the style from the eighties go? The hairmetal and the tight jeans and all of that. Sure the world is completely different, but still, the seventies seemed to have turned out the same, you hear the newsstand guy singing Walking on the Moon by The Police.
