@thechickkapub This is the Perito Moreno glacier. No breaks due to global warming. It breaks because it is the normal behavior of this glacier IN PARTICULAR. The glacier advanced to the waters of Lago Argentino. As a result of pressure from the water breaks that way. That's good, is a good sign, because it means you made​enough cold that year. Enough to the glacier advance.

i was there in december 08... we were told that at night it grows more then what falls away, such a beautiful place and the boat took us quite close to the glacier....which was quite scary because if a big bit fell in it could tip the boat. half hour drive away and we were in shorts and t-shirts again...so bizzare!!! amazing place to go see!!!!!

the reason why so many people are there watching is that this glacier does this every year - it has nothing to do with global warming - this glacier advances so much that it blocks off an entire bay, then when it weakens, the higher bay waters force themselves through a weak point, causing this dramatic display every year!

For your information, this icebridge collapse every 4 years, it is called "Perito Moreno", Argentina. It collapses because of the pressure of the water, nothing to see with global warning, moreover it one of the last glaciar which still grow. I went to see it and it is really amazing.
