Those beats you use, horrible bass on them. These headphones were made in 1991 I believe and have way better sound quality than beats. I have an HD800 nex to it.

It's differnet, but not better.

With classical and acoustic I likde the K1000 better, but with electronic (and some type of rock/metal) has the hd800 some advantages.

@acetonadocontinente They have a cushioned pad that clamps to your head above your ears. Why do you need active-noise canceling headphones to be the best? I am quite certain that professional audio producers do not use those types of headphones. In fact, the best headphones around are open-back designs such as this one (Audeze LCD-2 and Sennheiser HD800 included). I'm not sure how you came to the conclusion that the best headphones need to have noise canceling.

@acetonadocontinente The point of a high quality headphone is to have a portable, more personal speaker system around your head. The K1000's are certainly that. But you can't say that your $40 Philips headphones are better since you haven't listened to the K1000's before. That's like saying pencil A writes so much better than pencil B because pencil A looks cooler.
