I second fairangel - indian movies are getting so much recognition & we should be proud of our culture. It's an AMAZING movie, a masterpiece & won awards so let ENJOY it. At least Akbar was trying 2 get along - not killling like his son cruel son Aurenzeb. If Jodha didn't love him - she wouldn't had 8 kids with him - I think that speaks of their love. All Rulers had 2 do things that they're not proud of but that's how it was - what can we do but learn 2 learn from them & B better.

Hi, no it's not a real story - it's romanticized - I was very surprised bc the entire movie was made up. It's true that Akbar married a Hindu Rajput, but only for political reasons. Rajputs were against the marriage and the girl he married was never brought into his palace. Additionally, his son, Jahangir, is the one who married Jodhaa Bai, also for political reasons. Most Muslims & Rajputs did not believe in the unions bc most women were forced and they committed suicides. Google 'Akbar'...

Humayun is burried in India, I think New Dehli. Jhangeer and his wife, Noor Jahan are burried just outside of Lahore, Pakistan. Babar, the first Emperor is burried in Afganistan. Bahadur Shah Zafer (the last emperor) is burried in Mayanmar, (Rangoon). I dont know anout the others.

Another facotor, In those days 1960's and 70's there was not much in terms of entertainment except movies. People did not mind long movies laden with songs and dances as long as heroins were beautiful. That was another reason Mughl-e-Azam was such a classic. To get even this much attention as for JA despite controversies this movie must be totally awesome. I honestly cant get enough of it.

I second that to your comment. Mughal e azam was much better acting wise, dialogues wise, but the songs of both the films are good. I wish to see more movies with complete urdu dialogues. I like chaudveen ka chand too with complete urdu dialogues. I dont know why it is so hard to make movies with complete urdu dialogues neither in India nor in Pakistan. Only sometimes Pakistani dramas are made with complete urdu dialogues otherwise english and punjabi is mixed with urdu.

I disagree. IMHO this movie is better than Mughle-azam. Because of lot happening. Mughle-azam was just beautiful face of Mudhubala and super sweet songs of Lata. Those 2 were the only reason it was such a hit.Dilip Kumar's presence was hardly felt. In this movie the chemistry bet aish and Hr surpasses everything I have ever seen in my life.
