  • Nice playing cool guitar

  • Stays in tune properly?

  • Do a cover of the "Ask This Old House" theme!

  • guitar playing was so good I had to watch twice!

  • .35 -.45 -- so pretty I could cry.

  • Beautiful played!

  • awesome slide playing! I have this same model and its one of my favorite guitars. I have a squire strat and the SX guitar has far better sustain and tone. The neck is perfect and the frets are jumbo making solos comfortable.

  • soul.ful.

  • it's not the guitar that's important...it's the "ist" .....lovely playing and tone....so expressive

  • wow that tooooone

  • very cool sound, tone n slide.im planning to get one with a willkinson bridge very soon.

  • DO you know what the pickups are in these? I know they're stock, but I can't get hold of one of these models. Do you know any other guitars that will have these pickups in?

  • @7thS0Nofa7thS0N They are basic lower output, bright sounding ceramic pickups that are constructed cheaply. The covers on these are non-removable unlike a normal Strat pickup and the poles are not staggered. Nothing special, but they get the job done.

  • @7thS0Nofa7thS0N I think they sell them over at Rondo music

  • @satjathamma Yes Rondo music has them.

  • Very nice! SX's are great, I have a furrian (tele) that I love.

  • How did you get the volume plug? Color, where?? Thanks. Love the master vol and tone idea.

  • @gtknd It's a big plastic rivet that I spray painted white. I found it in the random parts drawer, so I am not sure what it was originally intended to be used for. I know hardware stores sell chromed metal caps for the same purpose that work well, too. Do a Google image search for the Dick Dale Strat Fender's Custom Shop makes; it uses several of those caps.

  • Beautiful playing... Nice sound too.

  • Impressive ! nice job !

  • i was going to use this exact kind to make a Billy joe from green day replica "blue" gutiar.

  • so apparently this guitar is great for slide. how does it play as a non-slide guitar. And also, any idea whether a typical Strat neck will fit in the pocket?

  • @peskypesky I bought this guitar with the intention of using it for slide, but I did play it with the factory setup briefly before disassembling it. I felt quite good, no buzzing or high/sharp frets, and they are quite large frets, too. The neck pocket width (at the widest point) on these are 2 1/4" as opposed to the typical 2 3/16" Fender pocket, so you have a little bit of wiggle room. That doesn't guarantee the screw holes will line up, but there's room to spare.

  • nice playing. sweet tone. and thanks for just making my GAS worse!!! lol

I've been jonesing for one of these for months. And you may have just sold me on it. :)

  • if that trem block wasnt there, and it was in standard, would tuning it from standard to lets say standard d cause alot of hassle like a floyd rose.(adjusting spring tension and unlocking the locking nuts, and so on?)

  • @XB0XFR34K No. Floyds are floating tremolos whereas a vintage style Strat tremolos (like this one) can be "decked" flat against the top of the guitar using tension from the tremolo springs. The wood block completely immobilizes the tremolo, without the use of spring tension, against the top of the guitar. I could also do this by using five springs in the tremolo, but I chose to use a block to minimize stress on the bridge mounting screws as I am using heavy strings tuned up to open E.

  • @voided3 so just tuning one string down (or a string breaking) wont make the tuning out of wack?

  • @XB0XFR34K Correct. Most Floyd Rose trems have a route in the top of the guitar so they are fully floating, so if string tension drops, they angle back a bit. Older style Strat trems can just rest against the body.

  • simply put SX pwns squier.

  • how were they out of the box

  • @visualmicstand I was quite impressed with this particular one. The fretwork is good, the neck fits the pocket quite well, and the stock pots (despite being the smaller variety) had a solid feel to them. I'm also surprised by how well the stock split-shaft style tuners are working; typically on these guitars the tuners are a weak link. The bridge plate, however, isn't completely flat so it doesn't make 100% contact with the top, but it isn't hindering playability and is cheap to replace.

  • @voided3 ok thank you im considering perchasing one for the holidays so im asking around

  • You should sell these modded 79 dollar guitars! You could make a fortune.

  • Very Impressive!

  • i would love it if you could do a cover of "i am yours" by derrick and the dominoes.

  • you are like the greatest modder
