  • awesome!!!

  • awesome!!

  • Fantastic

  • @DoctorRazzArea4 Thank You!

  • Very cool!

  • Is there a reason why the neck is off-center, along with the bridge? Does it make it easier to play?

  • @MudDauper Nope, I set it off center rather than remove the gas can handle. It sits to one side of the handle. Just thought it looked more like a can with the handle on.

  • @rpeek Thats the coolest little banjo i've ever seen!!

  • @woodcrafter81 Thank You!

  • Is this your own tune or is this an old standard?

My 12-year-old and 3-year-old want to watch this and hear this over and over...and they want me to play it when I get my banjo!

  • im always asking you pal but what tuning you in here?

  • @Timothydlol I dunno. I just twisted up the pegs.. I'll play with the old gas can and see if I can find it again..

  • @Timothydlol I just put up a new video to try and explain the tuning. hope it helps..

  • that thing sounds surprisingly awesome! cool tune too!

  • @JustunLivae Thank You! I love to make music on junk..

  • How did you attach the neck to the gas can?

  • @spectrender The neck has a wooden dowell stick that runs through the can and the tailpiece screw goes into it. I've got videos up on how to make these things.. See "how to make a gas can" video.. Thanks.

  • AWESOME!

  • Sounds like you recorded this via a laptop. You can eliminate the whine by simply pulling the power cord while recording. Or you can also use a ground lift on your power supply. Just a friendly bit of advice from an Audio engineer...

  • @spookedjunglist Actually recorded it with a camera, but I wore that camera out now and have a newer one. It works much better. thanks for the input though..

  • this one of the best things i have ever seen!

  • Thanks for the tip on Sylvester Weaver. Found a youtube video of him playin' and sure do like it. One of my new favorites, and an honor to be linked with such a fine musician..

  • this is one of the best sounding banjos Ive heard, I have a friend who makes cigar box guitars, similar to these...great sound and jam session before you went to work.

  • Thanks. Something to do to pass the time... It works for me..

  • Yes! Great pickin' on a very cool instrument.

  • I enjoyed that very much! Thanks!!

  • Thank You!

  • Absolutely bloody fantastic!

  • Thanks Mack!

  • U R AWESOME. banjo kicks ass

  • Thanks..

  • really aprecciated that

  • smart idea! would a cereal box work?

  • Maybe. I've seen it done with a cardboard wine box..

  • How did you attach the banjo neck?

    the banjo sounds SOOO nice!

  • The old banjo necks have a wooden dowel rod that runs through the banjo. I just shortened the rod, poked a hole through the can with a screwdriver and hammer and slid the stick in and lined it up. Made a tail piece with a bent fork. Not much to it. Give it a try, not much to lose if you use a cheap neck and a can..

  • is there a pickup or is it acoustic

  • Nope, no pickup. Just a can with a banjo neck in it. Nothin' fancy.

  • Hi " We like that Banjo !!!!

    nice Greetings from Austria

  • Thanks. Austria! That's awesome...

  • Excellent! Best slow down that slide. Generate too much friction and "BOOM!"

  • Yea, that is a concern. Might blow my fifth string off... It's happened before. No banjo players were injured in the filming of this video...

  • that la s part was hilarious "no banjo players were injured in the filming of this video...: @(*_*)@ :)

  • Thanks... Glad you liked it..

  • great work buddy, i idolize you

  • Bes' be careful. Might grow up to be a claw hammer banjo picker. That's SKAWIE!

  • It's good to know what we can do with all the gas cans once the oil's run out. Sounds great by the way.

  • Yea, better start saving all the cans you can find. Once the oil is gone, they'll be collector's items..

  • makes me smile:) What does herbal tea and a gas can banjo do for you??

  • Rather have a T-model and a gas can...

  • Terrific stuff.

  • Thanks Lew..

  • classic gas? Mason jar Williams?

  • Hahaha.. Classical gascan..

  • Thats a beautiful guitar! Amazing.
