  • Sassy Gay Friend, your awesome! :3

  • Let's be honest: It doesn't always get better.

  • This video was really inspirational because im bi and i came out to my friends they accept me for who i am and im happy because now i can be my full self around them. Thank you!

  • nice shirt

  • I have to say your work is a brilliant combination of humour and intellect. I like literature myself and the spin you put on these classics is so original yet very witty.

  • Now whenever i'm depressed i think of sassy gay friend and i can't be sad anymore!

  • I'm bi and I'm scared to come out to my family. They can't stand LGBT people and only two of my friends know that I'm bi. I get picked on because of it by people they've told and I've hurt myself 'cause of it, I still got the scars on my wrist but because of this I feel more open about who I am. Thank you Sassy Gay Friend!

  • Lol I can just imagine him going up to a gay kid on a roof and saying "what are you doing you stupid betch"

  • Applause for brian! You are amazing, and you are my role model, I use to try and fit in, and i never really was myself In middle school, I came out of the closet in high school, :) thank you for making me laugh!

  • im really happy for him and all... but i thought he was straight soo this really sets back my plans on marrying him one day.

  • I love you, I love young adult books for the same reason and I want to be a writer of them. keep up the good work and im glad you did this.

  • Wow, I just though you were a insanely good actor. I never knew. I like you and respected you for doing what you do on this channel. Now, my respect for you skyrocketed tenfold. :) Keep it up good sir. :)

  • Wait, you're actually gay? That makes it even better! :D

  • was there anyone else, or was i the only one that knew he was gonna come back at the end and say "you stupid bitch", probally cause i am a stupid bitch

  • This kinda ruins sassy gay friend for me. eh.

  • I'm gay, and out to everybody at my school- and they're actually nice and open minded! The odd thing- I'm a flamboyantly "gay" guy, so THEY guessed before I did.

  • Respect...

  • You're awesome you stupid bitch! XD

  • im not gay but his it gets better message is really nice to hear

  • what a nice man xxx

  • I am bi and I came out to some untrustworthy people. My school is very conservative, so when this spread to some people I barley know, one of them decided to tease me that I loved girls. He called me so many mean things and was so cruel, that before this I was to the point of wanting to just die or drop out of school. Thank you, Sassy Gay Friend.

    With love, Laurel.

  • You are awesome..It is so nice of you to put your heart out on the line. Rue

  • "I wish I could zoom into every scared gay kid's life and say what, what, what are you doing?!" Best quote.

  • That is one "attractive" video. =p

  • I hate people who bully or discriminate against things that have nothing to do with them or can't be changed; so what if some people don't like the opposite sex, why should it impact their personality, unless it makes them stronger when they endure any and all torment they may be put through?

  • I think your black shirt looks adorable ... you can seee through ....

  • It's not getting better sassy gay friend is no where to be seen. I miss you!

  • Hahaha.. last part made me laugh when he did his "stupid bitch" thing

  • i'm straight and i don't get why kids bully the gays, lesbians, and bis

At my school most people seam to be ok with it, but i know that other schools are different

Personaly I don't think there is anything wrong with falling in love with someone even if you share the same gender

  • Brian (aka Sassy Gay Friend), thank you. Thank you for being you. Thank you for sharing your talents, thank you for being so funny, and thank you for this. Too many people are affected by homophobia, and it is time for this to stop! Great video, thank you.

  • LOVE HIM!!! :) I think it'd be hilarious if he did a sassy gay friend for Katniss from the Hunger Games :P who else agrees?!

  • So wonderful! :)

  • i love thes vid,im lez and it took me soooologn to come out to my firends nad family,i dont have friends anymore sens i told them thay stopt talking to me...but thes vid helps a lot ^-^ good job.

  • This is great advice, not just for gay and lesbian kids but for anyone who feels like an outcast for any reason. The people who tease you and think you're weird in high school will look back years from now and remember you as the coolest person they knew because you were brave enough to be yourself. Everyone who pretends to be something they're not to try to get people to like them regrets it later.

  • "it gets better so stick around you stupid bietch" lmfao i love him <3

  • ya like some ppl r so horrible and think its a disease but i dont understand how they can say that bcuz they r stil exactly the same as everyone else just like different ppl and wen u go around using gay as an insult or insulting someone who knows their gay how would they feel, they would definitely be rlly scarred. its not like they can help it. i heard siblingsa at school saying if their brother/sister turned out to b gay they wouldnt go to their wedding. its so messed up.

  • i think the "it gets better" thing should have been done AS the character. "what what what are you doing? KILL YOURSELF? look at your life, look at your choices! you are fabulous and perfect. WHY do you care what those kids have to say-they're probably going to be working as janitors and living in their mom's basement! now c'mere and give me a hug you stupid betch!" it would have been heart-warming, unique, and funny. but this was nice too.

  • so much love. LGBT UNITE

  • Your video went viral on Kampala

  • He is not a stupid bitch.

  • Ho mah gahd. I love him. <3

  • your great!!GO Brian

  • You GO Brian!

  • I think I'm in love with this guy!!!

  • I just wanted to say how really touched I am with this post. Ive see all the sassy gay friend videos and when I came across this one it really moved me. It felt scarily similar to my situation and I wanted to let you know I really appreciate posts like these.

  • I half expected him to start talking about 'Mio'...

  • 0.0 His real voice...

  • this is inspiring!! keep doing what you do!

  • I love you! I'm straight myself but I strongly support gay rights. It's great of you that you made this video, I'm sure it helped a lot of people out (:

  • ok what gay people needs to learn about is which is better africa or gay its africa right? so they need to learn to not kill themselfs and they also need to know this they always have supporters like family which its very important of all so this is my reply 2 it gets better

  • i love you, thank you for doing this

  • OH! I love you guys! Don't listen to those lame asses that have something shoved up their ass-everyday- that have a problem with gays and les's put you down!

They are stupid and don't want to accept change!

  • I didn't even realize it but it must be really hard to date in highschool if your gay:( well I am a huge supporter of gay rights and I honestly don't understand why people are so against it.Who cares?u love who u love.

  • @darrencriss1234 rednecks and religious douchebags r the problem

  • dude i expected him to be just like he is in his sassy gay friend videos haha!!

  • this makes me have a new love for all of his videos, they are hilarious and this guy is awesome :)

  • I was born gay and I love being gay, touched other guys dicks when I was 5. Also he's hot.

  • these videos are lovely, they remind me of my sassy gay friends =]

  • I know that I'm bi, and I'm not afraid of it. I always try to be myself, anytime I can, and I'm already so much of an outsider, and I get picked on so often, I can't imagine actually coming out that I'm Bi. So for now, Anyone who asks I'll tell the truth to, and otherwise, I'll just keep my mouth shut. Maybe it will get better.

  • Can you zoom into my life!!! I would love a sassy gay friend~! Again.... But I am a lesbian so we would NEVER be able to help each other look for hot dates. I would be all, "Ewww guy." You would be all, "Ewww girl." and then we would probably go around and be incredibly animated and freak out the other people.

  • I'm a girl. Recently I had my second girlfriend. It took a lot of guts for me to finally show off that I honestly do love her, and yes... I'm so happy. ^.^ <3 my Autumn-chan

  • serious guts man. RESPECT.

  • I like your eyebrows

  • haha this might sound weird but after seeing this almost wish that i was gay.....it's not my fault that i'm straight, guys are just so hot!! xD

  • Your the gufrom thatmio liquid water enhancer supporter! Gay? Your support with all others just makes me... Feel so much better about my self and others out there I used to always think it was some disease but finding it out the hard way? Well ill just show my self in my own it gets better video :-) thanks sassy gay friend!:-)

  • I actually didn't think he was gay, I thought he was just a great actor.

  • @missmoanypants just because he is gay does not mean that it was easy for him to act a a sassy gay. Even sassy gays might not pull it off!

  • @missmoanypants lol same here

  • Thank you for making this video. You gave some really good advice. I really appreciate you sharing your experience and helping people out there.

  • My favorite video of all time. Thank you.

  • Try reading fanfiction, there is so much good slash out there...*drools*

  • It gets better so stick around you stupid bee-utch. <3 lol

  • You eyebrows are impressive. They distract me...

I love you! You are sooo funny! :) very touching!

  • Who the hell dislikes this video?!

  • not even kidding, I want that shirt!!!! What company is it?! Loved this video btw

  • "homophobic" shouldn't even be a word at all

  • @HippieChild93 i hate when people say christians are judgemental im a christian its what i was taught to believe in and when someone says that christains are intolerant and ignorant it pisses me off because thats my religion that they are talking about and i dont support bein gay but i dont care if they are gay if having a same sex relationship makes ppl happy then so be it but i cant support it

  • @telam92 calm down, Hippie child didn't say anything about judgemental christians

  • @TechnologyMAN1245 didnt say they did u assumed that i was just commenting on people who do say stuff like that

  • Why the HELL did you go to a CONSERVATIVE CATHOLIC COLLEGE?!?!

  • homophobes suck. if you have a problem with gay people u should keep it to yourselves. >c gay people are the sweetest

  • The book "I am j" by Chris beams is amazing about this subject and im not even gay! I love this video and the message it brings everyone! -3

  • YYAAAYYYY!!! I FEEL UPLIFTED..and I am not even gay

  • People who hate gay people hate them because they don't understand, or their just stupid. Probably both. I'm glad I came out as bi at an early age. Made things easier.

  • I'm straight and I find people who bully or tease gays/lesbians/ect just because they're different completely sickening! Everyone deserves to be accepted and loved for who they really are! ^^

  • You made me happyyyy

    I'm gay

AND IN EVERY CLASS I SIT NEXT TO A HOMOPHOBIC AND DRAW NAKED GIRLS

    IT'S GREAT TRY IT

  • I'm going to be honest... I will use any and every excuse to say "stupid bitch" after these videos lol

  • I'm not gay, but I love gay people. You have my support. I think I'm bi, though. Either way, I support you! :)

  • What's with people using gay as a synonym for stupid? That's...not right. Stop it people. (Not directed at the people in these comments, but the people I know that do it) >:I

  • @5Geass YOU TELL 'EM. I hate hearing "That's gay," KNOWING the person that said it means to say, "That's stupid." I mean... Wow. How is being gay stupid at all?

  • @acousticprincess2 Ah, thank you. :)

Most people do have the intention of insulting when they say that. *nods*

Then they're all like 'oh I have gay friends, so it's okay', or 'it means happy'.

Whatever. I still don't believe the people who say that.

  • @5Geass Exactly! You can tell by what they said that they didn't mean "happy."

The "I have gay friends" thing doesn't really work for me either since,

if they really have gay friends, why would they want to make such disrespectful comments about gays?

  • @acousticprincess2

Mhm. For some reason, straight people(Not singaling anyone out) think 'God says it's a sin', 'It's unnatural', 'He's gay, so he might hit on me'. And even people who had friends who weren't out of the closet, and they didn't know it, they break off the friendship as soon as they know?

What's the deal with that? I never understood their logic. >:(

  • @5Geass I'm straight, and I despise straight people that can't be open minded. I have always been the girl that the gays and lesbians "come out" to. They tell me I'm so understanding. It's just sad because when they say things like that, it's a reality check for me. Not everyone else is as accepting as I am, but I DON'T KNOW WHY. We're all just people, and who am I to tell ANYONE who to love? Love is love <3

  • @acousticprincess2 It's good to know that those people have someone to talk to. You should feel honored that they have the courage to at least come out to you. I feel happy and proud whenever someone tells me that they're gay, because I live in such a homophobic area. :(

  • @5Geass That's terrible :(

I hope you can get out of that place soon and get to a better place where people care about what actually matters. If the world were half as horrible and cruel to the world's rapists and child molesters as they are to gays and lesbians... the world would be a much better place.

For now though, smile and get through it :) There's good people out there who will love you for you <3

  • @acousticprincess2 You have such good points. :)

I have enjoyed talking to you. :3

  • I live in Texas, and a lot of people are totally mindless with their insults of gays. Gay people have done absolutely nothing to hurt you, so why be such a prick and insult them?! I have a friend who has told me he is gay, and so I flinch every time that people use gay as an insult in front of him. All it is is hurtful, and people need to stop using gay as an insult.

  • Sassy Gay Friend has a real name!?

  • I'm 18 years old i came out when i was 16... it was hard... yeah but now... I'm so happy!!! i have a boyfriend who loves me, my mom and sister love me for who i really am and my straight friends also know about my sexuality and they stll care for me... so... please.. come out... be who you really are... really... your life does gets better

  • This is interesting, because people dont realize that homophobia limits a childs true potential based on fear of appearing gay. This affects Straight people too!!!! Homophobia is not just a guy getting gay bashed... its a father who cant hug his son, its a straight kid who is bullied for showing interest in stereo typically gay things, its millions of straight people around the world in a relationship with closeted gay people who are terrified come out. Homophobia affects us all

  • @RodTalon0000 Wow, I couldn't have put it better myself. Totally true.

  • @RodTalon0000 It really does. I mean hell, I'm a straight guy. But I get called "queer" and "fag" ALL THE TIME. I have a lot of gay friends too, and I get bullied for that. It really DOES affect everyone and people need to understand that.

  • @ItsMyEndsville Wow until i got your comment i didnt realize how many "likes" i had on that comment i typed ;) thanks man. And also thanks for your reply. I truly believe that oppression upon any group of people affects all people, because we are all connected ;) You are a good man, empathetic, and before your time, because you can open your social circle without caring what bigots think. Future scholars will admire men like you, count on that ;)

  • Once upon a time there was this stupid bitch. And she was a lesbian. And people gave her so much crap for it that it drove her to the edge. She was seriously, seriously contemplating suicide when her friend sent her this link. And it made her think "What, what, what are you doing?!". And it'll give her something to remind her that suicide isn't worth it if she even considers it again. And she wants to thank her Sassy Gay Friend for that <3

  • I guess its the background music that plays... but it gets me everytime he says you stupid bitch.. and flips his scarf and walks away XD hahah

  • I'm straight as a board, but I'm tired of those people who call others gay and mean it as an insult. I know being gay is considered not right, but why slap that title on people? It's annoying

  • Umm im not with nor against LGBT(im a huge BL fan) but even if u kill u're self, u'll go to" hell" and im not kidding

  • Happy National Coming Out Day! Brian, I love all your work and this message is particularly pertinent today.

  • I may not agree with gay marriage because of my religion, but I don't hate gay people at all. In fact, two of my best friends are bi, and for one of them, I was the first person she came out to because she knew she could trust me. She's like my sister even to this day. I stop people from bullying all the time because no one should be bullied whether it be about sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, gender, or social status or whatever.

  • im out, im a flamming homosexual, some people bug me, but i have lots and lots of friends who love me anyway.

  • so many teens sadly kill themselves because of bullying...this could have been avoided if they had a sassy gay friend

  • I love this project. Thank goodness for all of those who have spoken out, you guys are saving lives

  • It really bothers me that we need videos like this, people who don't even know you telling you that it'll be okay. I mean, yeah, it gives me a boost when I get told it's going to get better, but that doesn't mean that right now doesn't suck.

  • This guy is basically the sambo/blackface of gay people

  • wait... how old r u?

  • oh you silly goose you

    O-o

  • I love you, Sassy Gay Friend!

  • i half expected mio

  • IT'S SO WEIRD TO HEAR HIS NORMAL VOICE.

  • @mattboy1981

That's youtube putting an ad. Not him. :)

  • DAMN IT... he's gay :( But he is too hot

  • Comment removed

  • @mattboy1981 yes because after 1 year, of course he's going to listen to you. and what was this ad you're so pissed off about. Oh and in my opinion wanting someone to rot in hell doesn't make you a good person even if you're for gay people.

  • sassy gay friend never went on a date in high school.

this fate could have been avoided if he himself had a sassy gay friend.

  • He's actually gay?

Huh, he did the sassy gay thing so well he came off as straight.

    D'oh well, good for him

  • @theinfectiondrummer I thought the same thing! I thought, wow, he's hitting all of the stereotypes so well, he must be straight. Too funny. :)

  • Awww, I think this was on Tosh.0 O:

  • I liked getting to see the more serious side :3

  • Is there a love it button?

  • I'm a just-out trans but a lesbian too and I would act like a boy and I still get made fun of and I kept coming home sobing I did everything over the moon to get out of the school. I'm still afraid to tell my mother I'm a trans. this helps alot

  • So I guess no one in your high school has a sassy gay friend.

  • *insert stupid gay line here :3 *

  • @DuckWarrior13

i will ;.; thank you so much.

  • I have no objection to going to hell if it's full of the people who accept everyone. And hot, gay guys. Hot, sweaty, naked, gay guys.

  • As a FTM transgender who most at that time assumed to be gay I find this very touching. Great job Sassy gay friend, great job.

  • I'm not lesbian or bi but I was repeadetly bullied at school. Always. People throwing rocks at me for no particular reason, locking me in the water closets...etc. I was very sad but always kept very distant to all that because that is how I've always been.In highschool my friends were open minded and diverse. And that enabled me to open up to people again.

My little brother now gets bullied at school. He is far more affected by it than me. But I keep telling him: it get's better. And it will.

  • @MrMissMerde I'm straight, but I got bullied a lot when I was younger too. It got to the point where I had no confidence at all. But it did get better. I made some great friends in high school, and gradually regained my confidence, and have managed to move past it.

  • When I was growing into a teen I thought I had no future. I had no idea how to reach out and who to reach out to so I tried to change myself to fit in with the straight kids. Denying who I was led me into a self destructive desperate depression where I almost ended my life. At 19, an angel walked into my life, and for 2 years I was able to love the most beautiful man I have every known, and was loved back. I am 26 now and in a place I never imagined I could be, I am happy.

  • Ironically, there was an advertisement for a mormon dating site before this video started.

  • Wish I had advice like this when I was growing up as a gay teen.

  • press 6 to find out your location

  • Saw your videos a while ago, and thought they were great. Saw this for the first time tonight, and you made me cry. No one should ever be ashamed of who they are, and for someone with some much personality like you to be so affirming for people who need it is a breath of fresh air. Thank you for such a wonderful video!

  • Brian went to my HS....Dedham High in Dedham MA

  • I'm pansexual and I came out when I was 5. xD I said "Mom, I don't care about the gender mom, I don't want to narrow down my options to a penis or a vagina" Those.. were my exact words. LOL

  • HAHAH You are sooo darling!! Stop saying Ummm so much though! It ruins your great speaking ability's!

  • I almost committed suicide once. I'm not gay, but you don't have to be to get harassed. Instead, I was called a whore, a slut, a bitch, a hypocrite, crazy, you name it. People don't like what they don't understand. I have a disorder called Schizophrenia. Who wants to be friends with the lunatic, right? Well, here is my advice. Gay, straight, "crazy", or not, no person, no words, are worth your life.

  • It's funny that his real voice doesn't sound gay at all.

  • ... i wasn't expecting this... :'(

  • i clicked on this video cause i thought i was going to laugh...now im sad

  • U remind me of Kurt from Glee!! I Love you!

  • ur voice!!!! omg dats cool

  • Hmm I never would have guessed he was actually gay.

  • Absolutely WONDERFUL!!!! Bless you!!!!!

  • im so afraid of telling my parents. but im out to most of my friends. It does get better. now i just have to get some courage and tell my family

  • I am straight, but watching really made me believe that IT WILL get better! I have a friend who ia bi and one that is gay and they are so sweet, they don't let nobody bring them down(:

  • I'm Bisexual and this guy that i fell in love with told me he didnt like me because I was bisexual.

  • @madeline981 WHAT?? That's ridiculous. Don't compromise yourself. Someday, a guy will love you exactly the way you are, and will love you because you are the way you are. I know it feels right now like you'll never love someone else, but you will and it will be GLORIOUS, I promise you!

  • just yesterday, my friend told me she was lesbian over facebook.

she thought i was going to judge her.

i told her i didnt care, all humans are humans, and we are to be treated equal.

ive heard of so many tragedies when someone is gay, just remember all of you,

What, what, WHAT are you doing?

    you're a living being, we're all equal.

it can be hard, but all life has challenges.

face them positively, and dont let those bullies torment you.

  • i am bisexual and i know exactly what its like to pretend and lie i recently came out to all my friends, for some of them it was fine for some it was kinda awkward and one of my friends still refuses to talk to me but im so glad i did it. for anyone looking for a good book to help them i personally love anything by Alex Sanchez if i had to pick a favorite it would be Th
