I find it funny that college educated people graduate and then act as if they were not taught to group and classify people and things. Ok cupid takes data from a large base of people who SELF indentify themselves in certain groups and analyzes their words and behavior. That should be interesting to an educated person . CNN and other political outlets should be interesting to a college educated person (Im grouping). We are individuals but NO individual develops outside of a group.

@mindcontrol31 oh I'm sorry...did you miss that part in high school where they teach you the difference between subjective and objective analysis? Granted everyone falls into some of type of statistic, such as I am a Black female, under 30. That's an objective statistic. However, determining how I am going to mate...it's highly subjective and therefore cannot be concretely weighted. Or wait did you miss that part of macroeconomics?

@jouelzy As I said we are all individuals but what is subjective about a group of self indentified BW sending more messages than any other group and receiving less than any other group. Predicting what you will do is subjective but knowing what groups you belong to makes it a lot more likely. If the stats are not true Ok but if they are it tells us something about the dating enviroment. Im more of a medical person than economics but u cant treat people w/o putting them into groups.

When you get to the part in your medical studies where you learn how to use statistical data to properly treat your patients, then we carry on this discussion. If my doctor ever treated me based off a "survey" it would be a problem. Lifestyle choices, environment, all impact your treatment...and it's the same point I'm making here. @jouelzy Lifestyle choices and environment are taken into consideration and info we get from surveys and medical data of large groups of people influence how we treat patients. Your MD and RN will look at your age, race , job, education, and social environment to treat u. Im not saying thats all we use but even your individual traits are compared to groups of people with those traits. OK cupid race messages is not a survey its data. Im not trying to insult u

This same collection of data where I say I'm Arab and have an income of $100k...because I can. There's no verification system.
