what does it matter who did what we all love the same music so just jam it and open up your minds and just hear it!!!!! cutris knight is good and so is jimi they were good buds i agree but its all the same in the end
this exact track was my first taste of jimi. On a cheap emi music for pleasure album in 1971, I was 12. All these yrs on I am so glad I listened, maybe sentimental but for me the rawness of the track makes me imagine I am there in front of him. For me it is the track I like the most and set me on the hendrix road. Class.
Such a long time since I listened to Jimmy play. I got so overwhelmed with all the new super fast guitar playing I for got the guy could make his guitar talk. By talk I mean play more then just 3 cord riffs over and over very fast. Mind you all the top guitarist could make their guitars talk and cry in their own way. I am surprised to see he is so under rated nowadays.
@MicrosoftsourceCode People ask me about new albums coming out, I say I don't need to worry about any of that. The music I want to hear is already created, and released. It's just a matter of learning how to play it now.
No, Curtis did not choose to live in the shadow of jimi, he went on with his life and created music of his own. Jimi was a part of his life, but not the whole of his life. Curtis loved Jimi as his best friend, it was other people who pushed him into the shadow of Jimi. Curtis deserves to be recognized for his contribution to Jimi's career and for his own contributions to musical history.
@Kknightmcc You really like curtis knight don't you? Seriously though, we get it. You don't need to post the same comment on all my vids man, relax. We love curtis knight
This is Curtis Knight singing and talking on this recording, speaking on the intro and in the background of the song. He also wrote the song. He deserves to get credit for that.
@Kknightmcc You're right, he does sing.It seemed to me that he was ad-libbing over top of what sounded like (to me) an instrumental.I can read that all you guys know a lot more about Hendrix than I could know in my lifetime.I appreciate the info and keep it coming.
@PBGSURFER65 Thank you for acknowledging that. Curtis has gotten the short end of the stick for so long that people actually don't know all the facts about his life and time with Jimi Hendrix. It is my purpose to help straighten out the record, which is why I wrote the book "Curtis Knight: Living in the Shadow of Jimi Hendrix".
He took me there. What year's this?

@PBGSURFER65 You better listen to the whole thing then, because you are incorrect about this being only an instrumental
