Walcott was aging but he still could fight same with Joe louis, Rex Layne ended his career at 34-1-2, Harry Mathews 81-3-5, Ezzard charles. Lastarza wouldn't make cruiser if he was fighting today. A near forty year old Walcott nearly beat the Rock even knocking him down at 55 seconds of first>Walcott was old and stationary. As were Louis whom had lost most of his quick reflexes and had no more elasticity in his legs. Joe was balding for gods sake.

Okay. I tried to look at this objectively. Here's who Marciano fought for the title and their ages. Walcott twice 38 and 39. Rocky was 29 and 30. Roland La Starza 26 and Rocky was 30. Ezzard Charles 33 and Marciano 30 twice. Don Cockell 26 and Marciano 31.Erchie Moore 38 and Marciano 32.

Walcot was 38 when he defended his belt against Rocky, but he did have the belt and was cagey for his age. As for Moore, Rocky didn't even want that fight. The reason why it took place was Moore's insults hurled at Rocky and insisted on a fight with the Rock when he was already contemplating retiring.

He was fighting 8 and 10 rounders against ham and eggers for 43 fights. By time Joe Louis had 43 fights he had defended 10 times. Title fights are scheduled for 15. Far more impressive than Marciano fighting tomato cans in non title fights for 43 fights.

Marciano was a beast that always stayed in shape and beat the piss out of anyone infront of him. WHich were almost always much taller and bigger than him. Walcott was aging but he still could fight same with Joe louis, Rex Layne ended his career at 34-1-2, Harry Mathews 81-3-5, Ezzard charles. THe main thing about marciano is that He fought everyone and you may think they were bums but he never danced or backed down took on all comers.
