@reachforacreech Bloodlust was not all that bad, just had strange pacing as well as, in my opinion, a very brief appearance of another well known "blood" countess. I've felt sort of cheated on that as well as a couple of unresolved issues.

VHD:Bloodlust does have one notable attribute in that it was originally drawn with the English language in mind first then the Japanese Dub.

Could have been better but still great on its own merits; except for its ending.

D is what you call a Dhampir. Sometimes spelled Dunpeal. He is the original half-human, half-Vampire, hybrid. He came before Blade, before Miyu, even before Alucard. (The Castlevania one)

He is heavily implied to be the result of a genetic experiment conducted by Count Dracula and a human woman, though his past remains largely unknown. I wish the author would get around to explaining exactly who D is, or at the very least - disclose his True Name.

D is the beginning letter of it I'm told.

This is the anime I count as my inititation into anime fandom (though I'd watched anime in the mid 80s as a child). I still love this movie, but, I am so much happier reading the novels it is based on--they've finally been released in the U.S.! In the first novel, this Sister scene had more detail. They were hydra only with womens' heads. Their hair secretes something that makes the hair pleasurable, it went up D's clothes. It was pretty hot (and slightly gross).

both your comments were complete spoilers but i guessed i deserved the second one though. this is the only classic 80's AMV that i never saw. i thought i'd watch it now for free rather then spending money on a blueray. i have to say i wasnt impressed at all. on the whole it was extreamly weak and boring too. (that's why i could only manage 2 parts at at time) maybe if i had watched it as a kid like i did with all the others then it might of had sentimental value but as it stands it's garbage.

@sw0rd0fadvers1ty yeah, it's the nostalgia. if i had seen this as a kid i'd no doubt feel the same. i bought lensman on dvd a few year's back and watched it with my younger brother. he thought it was crap and i could understand why. it wasnt great at all but i still loved it cos for me there was somthing speical about it. however there are certain manga movie's that are great no matter when you watch them. ie: ninja scroll, akira, fist of the north star, space adventure cobra and a few others.

I want to watch it again now to see if there is improvement in my disposition. I hear you on the nostalgia factor. It's definitely a biggie with some of the older manga. Oh, and Ninja Scroll, Akira and Fist of the North Star? Hell yeah! Talk about classics. I'd personally throw Project A-ko, Venus Wars and Dominion Tank Police into that mix, too...

@sw0rd0fadvers1ty yeah, lensman was one of the first manga movie's i ever saw (i was 5-6) so my dissapointment in the lack of blood and gore wasnt there. i would of mentioned dominion tank police, guyver, 3x3 eye's, legend of the four kings and especially projeck A-ko but there all series not AMV's, so i never mentioned them. i personally never liked venus war's. i see you left out space cobra, i guess that wasnt a favorite of yours.

@sw0rd0fadvers1ty i'm not sure about the graphics on lensman but i do know it was one of the first AMV's ever made though. yeah i alway's thought project A-ko was a stand alone movie until i saw part 2 and found out it was only the first of 10. however it can be seen as a movie in it's own right, it's certainly good enough to be. i would highly recommend watching space adventure cobra as well as devilman part 1&2, golgo 13 and ghost in the shell, the movie and the series.

Question- Why is it in every Vampire film there's always a Lord who is (Half the film) sitting on their throne, entirely motionless with a bored expression, yet is talked about like they're Cthulu? I mean, it seems kind of silly, considering how easily Magnus is beaten by our troubled hero.

Also, pay close attention to Magnus' words when he's speaking to Doris-
