  • Check out my cave of the winds video and rate it

  • LOL i love this one.

  • hahahhaha you can hear desi laughing so hard haha

  • THis is Comedy at its best.

  • Character actor Frank Scannell(Best remembered by A&C fans as the roulette wheel croupier in "The Effentcy Experts"episode of "The A&C TV Show")plays the burlesque clown..who really socks to Poor Lucy in this variation of"Niagarra Falls"/"Slowly I Turn".

  • HOW MANY BLACK&WHITE CHARACTERS HAD SOMETHING WITH "SLOWLY I TURNED"?!?!?!?

  • A great take on an old vaudeville routine. The 3 Stooges did my favourite version of all time. The last time I heard it was in the 70's, on the Mike Douglas show (Moe Howard was the guest).

  • slowley i turn, step by step, inch by inch.ha ha

  • You can hear Desi laugh...thats really neat!

  • Martha! lol! Just love Lucy. When I've had a horrible day like today, Lucy always makes me laugh! The world has never had another like her--and never will. I love Lucy!

  • you can hear desi laughing 1:02-1:15 or it is'nt him? I 'm a huge fan!!!

  • HAHA! Yeah. You really can hear Ricky laughing in the backround.

  • you can hear Ricky laughing....aww how adorable!

  • Drop it! Drop it! Drop it! Drop that!

    On the floor?

    No! Let me have it!

    LMAO

This is probably my favorite scene ever. Lucy was (and is) the pure definition of comedy perfection. ♥

And I LOVE her gasp! Can't get enough of it. So funny!

  • Her face is priceless!

  • I am not 100% sure....but pretty sure this is an old routine passed down through the years in the old vaudeville days of the stage in the early part of the 20th century.....very likely pre-dates the three stooges. In fact many of the routines the 3 stooges did were from the silent film era....like the clam in the soup that kept squirting curly. Of course the three stooges did these old routines perfectly. Nothing wrong with updating old successful routines for younger audiences.

  • I almost said Martha....(gasp)

  • hey did anyone notice ricky is laughing after she gets pied??

  • Martha? Slowly I turned. step by step inch by inch I looked for a rock and I couldn't find one so I grabbed a handful of Niagara Falls and I let him have it!

  • you can hear ricky laughing in the background :D

  • yea you can that is great huh!

  • @KiminyLala wow as many times as I've seen this episode I never noticed this until now.

  • @KiminyLala I was just asking my wife if she could hear him. lol You can hear him in so many episodes.

  • Which came first, this or the Three Stooges version?

  • It started on Vaudeville in the 20s and 30s. I Love Lucy is a bit later.

  • the three stooges was the birth of this gag

  • Can you upload this whole scene? I'd live to see it from the top.

  • the made me laugh sooo many times

  • 1:47 love the sound she makes

  • you can hear desi laughing in the background

  • the laugh i nthe background around 1:00-1:12 > this skit

  • I never noticed Desi's laugh before! He had a great laugh! XD

  • at 1:12 you can definitely hear desi laughing

  • he has one hell of a laugh!!!!

  • LOL Sounds like peewee herman

  • If you listen closely you can hear ricky laughing in the background after she gets hit with the pie

  • Yeah you can! That's fantastic!

  • Oh my goodness you can! HAHA! LOL

  • lucy's goal in this scene is to not say martha but that doesn't really work out!! i ♥ lucy

  • UTTERLY forgot how FUNNY I Love Lucy is!!

    THANK YOU!!

  • No, it's NOT Red Skelton. Dennis

  • you could totally hear desi arnez laughing in the background!!!

  • In quite a few episodes, you can hear Desi laughing. He has a very loud, distinct laugh. :-)

  • i know!!! it's not very hard to hear him laugh b/c he laughs very loudly (not obnoxiously loud, but just plain loud)

  • This was funny, but it's better when A&C do it. Every part of this version seemed predictible (Especially when Lucy said "Let me have it!")

I loved the glare Lucy gave him after the pie hit; almost like she was saying "You rotten son of a..."

  • I love how you can hear Desi Arnaz laughing in the background!

  • Me too!!

    Love this scene!!

  • Desi can be heard so often laughing while they were filming. It's wonderful to hear, isn't it?

  • yeah, me too.

  • @monalisaariasmartin You can usually hear all of them laughing when they aren't on film.

  • I almost said, "Martha". =0 (big gasp)

    LOL =D

    I Love Lucy!

  • did they get this from the 3 stooges or did the 3 stooges get this from this show?

  • The 3 Stooges did it much better.

  • This is red skelton a very famous clown...

  • I don't know who it is, but it isn't Red Skelton.

  • it was also an Abbot and Costello sketch

  • This skit is an old one, long before Lucy and the Three Stooges. Go to Abbott and Costello for the classic.

  • After she gets hit with the pie yoou could her ricky

  • oh man i saw this on TV the other day!

    so hilarious!!

at first i though he was saying

    "Looooower the anchorrrr"

    lol

    but its slowly i turn

  • NO LET ME HAVE IT! alright -smacks with pie-

    ahahha i cracked up :D

  • Lucy just crack me up!

  • Dear Frontlobo,

    Thanks for providing the identity

    of the burlesque clown.

  • Who played burlesque

    clown?

  • Frank J. Scannell played the clown.

  • If you listen closely, you can hear Desi Arnaz laughing his head off in the background.

  • i was just about to say that

  • Yeah I noticed that too! lol

  • Not Bad..But?

    A&C & "The Three Stooges"did it beter!

  • well, yes, but Abbott and Costellos' version is the best.

  • What about on an episode of Cosby, where he's in Jail with Gilbert Gottfried, and Gottfried does a similar thing, whenever he hears the name "David Letterman?" That was kinda funny, too.

  • Well, yeah, I know what you mean. However, the A&C version, which had been mysteriously pulled off a few months back, is now re-posted on YT and is well worth checking out.

  • lmfao. too mertzish.

  • I love it.This my favorite episode.

  • I added this because it reminds me of the antics we get into at my work!

  • Well thanks for adding it. Is one of the funniest episodes. So r u a big Lucy fan?

  • Of course! Huge fan from way back.

  • I am Lucy's #1 fan!!!!!!!!!!

  • We just had a water fight at my work on Friday! haha Maybe next time i will bring a pie!

  • Yeah that's a good idea!!!!!!!!! How can you have a waterballoon fight at ur work?

  • We have our own kitchen and we throw water at each other -- usually on fridays before the end of the day!

  • oh wow. That must be fun

  • You can hear Desi laughing in the background. ROTFL!!

  • yeah i know and i always thought he faked that laugh on the show but it is very genuine!

  • I love this one! Slowly I turn is hilarious!!! :)

  • glad you like it!
